Dreaming of a White Christmas

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I would like to thank  my new followers for joining me on my crafty journey. I hope everyone is having a good week. The weather here has been very pleasant I hope it has been the same for you.

After my play on Sunday with my new Visible Image stamps, making the CAS Christmas cards, I fancied making something  a little more complex with the White Christmas stamp set.

This is an A5 card I don't often make these. I started by making all the layers you know me and layers. Then I created a background using the Snowflake stamp with Perfect Medium and silver, white and iridescent embossing powders. The background was finished with three shades of Distress ink.

To make the focal element I stamped a single snowflake with Perfect Medium and embossed it with silver powder.

The ribbon was in my stash. The sentiment comes in the stamp set and it was stamped with Perfect Medium and embossed it with silver powder.

I hope the rest of the week is kind to you.

I would like to join in with Pixie's Snippets Playground - Week 193

and

Challenge 5 at A Snowflakes Promise.

Not Just Cards - Challenge 24

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope the week is starting well for you.

Not only are Not Just Cards challenge blog having a blog hop to celebrate their first birthday but there is a new challenge starting today as well. The theme of the challenges is always Anything Goes. That give two chances to win this month.

This is my Design Team inspiration card for the challenge. I have made another card for the blog hop. Both the challenge and the blog hop last for a month. For this card I used an image from Alicia Bel called Coffee and Good Morning.

I found all the papers in my stash.

She was coloured with Promarkers.

I thought the cats and buttons were a good addition to the design. You can just imagine the cats getting in the way in the morning.

The sentiment is from Visible Image it comes in the No Regrets set. It just seemed appropriate.

If you click on the logo you will be taken to the store.

The challenge goes live today and the blog hop starts too. I hope you have a great week.

If you want to join in with the Blog Hop click on the image below.

A quick Christmas Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your weekend going? My husband has been called into work today which means I am home alone with my crafty stash. Yesterday I received a parcel of stamps from Visible image so I have spent the morning playing.

I had this design in my mind but it did take me a while to get it to work the way I wanted it to.

I wanted to have a go at another CAS card I decided to use the White Christmas stamp set available from Visible Image.

It did take me a while to get this design right but when I did it is a quick card to make.

I made a mask for the top layer I cut it just a bit smaller so that there would be a border I also cut a square with a die. I used Distress ink and a brush to apply the ink to the mask.

Once this was done I used a clear ink pad to stamp the snowflake and the sentiment then they were heat embossed in silver.

Finally I used a ruler and a Versa Mark pen to draw round the square of ink and this also was embossed in silver.

These are the stamps that were in my happy post yesterday.

Not quite a one layer card. I have some other ideas for these stamps they do stamp nicely.

I hope that you enjoy the rest of today the sun is shining here.

Alphabet Challenge Blog - Letter "O" One Layer

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I have made it to the end of the week the first week back at school takes a bit of getting used to. I hope you have had a good week and are ready for the weekend. This weekend the plan is for us is to try and sort out all the furniture we are now storing for our daughter. I can see a few trips to the tip coming up so we can make some space.

I have joined the Design Team at the Alphabet Challenge Blog. I am in Team B and our letter was O and that was taken to mean One Layer and that is the theme of the current challenge. This was a real challenge for me as everything I make has many, many layers.

I put my thinking cap on and this is what I came up with.

I took a smooth slightly off white 6" x 6" card blank. I cut a piece of card the same size as the card blank and I cut an aperture with a square die in the middle of the card to make a mask. This was taped with low tack tape over the front of the card. Then I used a brush to apply Distress Ink through the aperture sweeping the ink from side to side. This gives a lovely smooth finish to the ink.

Once I had removed my homemade mask I stamped the Silhouette Manger stamp from Little Claire Designs with Perfect Medium it was then heat embossed with a sparkly black powder.  The sentiment was added in the same way.

To finish the card off I used a Versa Marker pen with a ruler to draw round the edge of the inked square. This was then heat embossed with a silver powder. I also used the pen to add silver to the center of the star.  I found the pen so useful I feel a bit silly as I have had it for a long time and not used it.

This was not an easy card to photograph. I was so pleased with how it came out though I have made a few more in different colours. I have a feeling a lot of my Christmas cards will be in this style this year. They are quick to make, look lovely and  are flat for posting.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Thank you for stopping my at my little corner of Blogland.

Creative Artiste Challenge Blog - Sherri Baldy

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Wow it is Friday the end of the week at last. I just have to work this morning and then I am free. I am hoping to get caught up on my crafting for one reason or another not much has happened this week. Those Christmas cards aren't going to make themselves.

There is a new challenge starting on the Creative Artiste Challenge Blog the theme to enter is "Anything Goes" and we have a sponsor Sherri Baldy Stamps (My Besties) and the prize is three images from the store.

The design team were given beautiful images to work with this time.

I loved this image as soon as I saw it and I wanted to make a bright cheerful card. I found a backing paper with fruit on it and I covered the backing paper with one of the lattices that I cut with  my ScanNcut.

I printed the image onto card and I coloured it with my Promarkers.

The flowers were cut with a Spellbinder's die set. I also cut some ivy to add to the design.

Don't forget to join in with our challenge with the chance to win some lovely images from the lady below.

I would like to enter the current challenge at Scrapbook Stamp Society Challenge Blog.

I hope that you have a wonderful weekend.

Crafty Addicts - Lily of the Valley

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

What a busy start to the month this is. I am back at school and  yesterday I had two blog posts go live and today there is another one. It is a good job that I had the holidays to prepare.

Today sees the start of a new challenge at  Crafty Addicts this will be our second challenge. We have a sponsor A Day for Daisies and they are offering a $12 gift card to use in their store as a prize.

This is my card a simple small one. The image is beautiful and is called Bell Window

This was a lovely image to colour and I cut it out with my ScanNcut after I had coloured it with my Promarkers. I printed another image and coloured and cut out the bells and mounted them on the card with a gel glue.  I made some mats for the image and I found a backing paper in my stash. I added a doily also from my stash to give the card a soft lacy look.

The sun was shining when I took this picture we didn't see much of it this summer. There is lots of inspiration from the Design Team on the Crafty Addicts Challenge blog and there is a prize on offer if you enter.

I hope the rest of the week is good for you. I will be back soon I promise.

Happy Crafting
