A Cute Robin on a Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? On Wednesday we had to get to my parents house early as a hospital bed was being delivered for my mum. We got there at the same time as the delivery driver. It was okay as he was very pleasant and he didn't mind waiting until we had cleaned the room. We also visited my in-laws. My lovely mum-in-law is not doing very well. She was back at hospital yesterday for another blood transfusion. This weekend we are hoping to  visit our daughter and son-in-law.

I picked up lots of Christmas cards at our parent's houses. Here is a card I made with one of them.

I just could not resist this robin. I found a backing paper in my stash to use with it.

I used some circle dies to cut out the robin and it's mats. The sentiment was made with the stencil dies from the John Next Door range. The Holly Corner I added is a John Next Door die too.

I am starting to build up my Christmas cards for this year.

Have a good weekend.

Cute Robin Christmas Card for the Rudolph Days Challenge

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We had a quiet one. I have a crafty deadline to meet so I was working on that. My hubby caught up with various jobs about the place.

Well I nearly forgot this month's the Rudolph Days Challenge. I have been making a lot of Christmas cards but none that I can share jet. Their time will come.

This is a cute little card. The patterned paper was in my stash.

This was a little card we received for Christmas. The robin was so cute I just had to make it into another card. The greeting was added with one of John Next Door dies.

I have been making lots of Christmas cards but none for us to use. When I get a bit of time I will have to make some more.

Diamond Point Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been. I have been busy. I found the invigilating quite tough this time. I  have been working on some design team bits and pieces too. Just yesterday afternoon I made a Christmas card that I can share with you. Sorry I have been neglecting my blog. There just isn't enough time.

I had a bit of time at the end of the afternoon yesterday and I went to my stash of old cards. I found a nice small card with a cute robin on it. I have been enjoying making Diamond Point cards and I had a go at another one.

I found some old Stampin Up paper in my stash. The colours suited the old card very well.

Isn't that robin cute.

I haven't made a Christmas card for my stash for a while. Underneath the flap I placed a white label cut with a Spellbinders die. You need to be able to write somewhere.

April Rudolph Days Challenge - Cute Robin

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope that you had a good weekend. On Saturday I actually planted some seeds. I just have to remember to keep them watered. I am hoping the large tomato seeds, I saved from last year, germinate. Those big tomatoes were so delicious. Sunday of course was the launch of John Lockwood's, aka John Next Door, new dies the ones I made some samples for.

This is another card made with the Firth Park Tag dies it is not one of the samples I sent in. I liked putting the main die together to make a square. I also enjoyed threading ribbon through the loops. The thin ribbon that you get in clothes works perfectly.

I just wanted to see if you could make a Christmas card.

The robin came from an old card. I cut it with the offset square die that comes with the set. This image was great as it came with a sentiment.

I think this works well as a design for Christmas. I think I will make a few more. Those tag dies are going to be very useful.

October Rudolph Days Challenge - Cheeky Snowman

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Good news our daughter and son-in-law have moved. The move day was last Friday and mostly the rain stayed away. We went up to help. We cleaned, we collected hot drinks from Starbucks, we provided a picnic and we helped a bit with unpacking. We arrived home about 8.00pm just in time to feed the bunnies. We went back on Saturday to help a bit more. On Sunday we had a day at home. Also on Friday we found out that my hubby has been accepted for Voluntary Severance and he will be retiring on 30th November. Life is going to be a bit different.

I have been a bit out of the loop for a few days. I nearly missed the October Rudolph Days Challenge which runs from the 25th until the end of the month.

The blue snowy patterned paper was in my stash.

I have been practising my pencil colouring. This cute little image comes from Bugaboo and is called Snow Friends and it is available HERE.  They were coloured with pencils but for the life of me I can not remember which ones. Oops.

Well another card for my stash. I have made over 100 cards now. I hope that is enough. We are arranging with lots of people not to exchange Christmas presents this year. I will still send Christmas cards though. People are still in our thoughts.

A Bit More Time to Craft - Winter Robin Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your weekend going? We had a catching up day yesterday. What with being away on holiday and being out quite a bit lately not much has been getting done.

The new challenge starts at the A More Time to Craft Challenge blog and the theme is Anything Goes and there are some fantastic digital papers on offer as prizes. I just love using these papers myself.

Here is a Christmas card I made with the Gothic Flakes digital papers.

I printed the papers in two sizes. The larger one was for the outside layer. I chose a paper with a paler centre so that the robin would show up. I cut one of the John Next Door bauble dies in gold and I used and foliage die to make a wreath around the bauble. I think the bow came with the robin die.

Why not join in with the challenge the papers are well worth winning. Click on the logo and you will be taken straight to the challenge blog.

The branch is a Spellbinders die the robin die came free with a magazine (I can't remember which one now).

This is a Crafter's Companion die. I love the the dot is attache to the i.

I did enjoy making this card and using the papers. Hopefully I have made enough Christmas cards this year. I really need the time I have next week to catch up with some other makes.

Up-Cycled Christmas cards

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend and the start of your week has been good too. I probably ought to start with a bit of an explanation. I have been a bit quiet on my blog lately. The death of my friend hit me quite hard and I have found it hard to focus, not helped by me getting a cold. I have a lot to get ready in the next couple of months my husband is 60 this year. I am still crafting but mostly it is things that I can't share just yet. Thank you to those who haven't given up on me. I am still around.

I am  trying to keep up with  my Christmas card makes. At the end of a craft session I try to fit in a couple.

This is one of my up-cycled Christmas cards. I liked the image on the old card. I trimmed it to fit so I could in some mats and layers.

I do like to see robins on Christmas card.

I used the Ivy Spray die from the John Next Door range. I added glitter for some extra sparkle.

This is a small sentiment die from the John Next Door range.

I had time to make another simple card from another card.

That's another two for my stash.

Robin Twisted Easel Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend and are ready for the week ahead. This is the start of two weeks of mock exams at the local secondary school and I am invigilating most days.

I joined in with a challenge in the  Facebook group Crafty Army with Carley (Duff). We were split into three teams and the challenge was to make easel cards. I was thrilled to be picked as of the  winners for my group. Here is my card.

I do't often make easel cards since I found my uncle displaying one of its side. I do like making easel cards though. I will have to make sure that I send this twisted easel to a fellow crafter  who will know how to display it.

This fabulous robin was from an old Christmas card. I added a snowflake border to the top and the bottom of the image.

This is the snowflake border it is a die I bought in the Works last week they still had some.

This is the John Next Door Happy Christmas die from the Happy Snowflakes die set. Mounted in this way it made the stopper for the easel.

The paper I used was from my stash. I was very pleased with how this card turned out and thrilled to have won the challenge.

Pollyanna Pickering Robin Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? Round here it is half term. This means that I am able to catch up with some of my friends who still work in schools that is what I am doing today.

I am still making lots of Christmas cards I feel very behind I really should have lots more made by now. I am also getting a few cards together for a friend who is running a fund raising event for her Brownie unit. This is one of the cards I have made for her.

I was a bit naughty and I ordered a paper kit and DVD set from Create and Craft. This cute robin came in the papercraft set it is a Pollyanna Pickering image. I do love her paintings she was such a talented lady.

When I am crafting there are sometimes bits of card left over from creating a card. They are too good to throw away so I usually try to make a card with them. Apart from the image all of the elements of this card were made with scraps.

This is a Tattered Lace sentiment.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Forever Friends Christmas card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? Did you have a good weekend? It was certainly good having the extra day. It is a shame it rained so much on Sunday. A quick update on my parents there has been no further talk of stopping the carers going in. This is a huge relief I am sure there will be more hurdles to overcome. My parents can no longer cope on their own they really do need the help. I don't want to find my dad like he was back in the summer.

I would like to say thank you for the messages of support that I have received about my parents. I know so many of you understand.

I have been looking through my files for cards to share. As you know I stepped down from a few design teams and I am having a break from two others. I am struggling to make anything at the moment. I hope things will be a bit more settled when we get back from a short break.

Before everything happened with my parents I was getting on well with making my Christmas cards. I found the image in my stash I have had it for ages. I added trees cut with the Winter Tree dies from Creative Expressions.

I do like the Forever Friends bears they are very cute.

This is a Creative Expressions Santa die it comes with two reindeer. I just cut extra and add them.

I found the sentiment in my stash too. Some of my stash I have had for ages. At the moment while I am not really crafting I am trying not to buy any new crafty bits.

Here is the finished card. The papers I used were in my stash too. One of these days I will have a proper tidy up.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Robin Christmas card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I am working hard at the wedding makes.  Tomorrow I will be helping at another Felting workshop. I hope I get to make another picture.

I was really lucky and I won an Amy Designs die from the Feeling of Christmas range called Ice Crystal Circle in a Christmas Facebook group. I just had to make a card with the die.

The backing paper I have had in my stash for a long time. I cut the die and then realised I could use the cut out from the paper. That way less was wasted.

I found a robin decoupage in my stash. He look cute sat in the middle of the die cut.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Christmas Rose Christmas card.

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your weekend going?  We have had quite quiet weekend so far. Yesterday we sorted out our passport applications which we did online with our own photos. When we came to send off our old passports we had to send them to different offices. My husband's is on the way to Durham and mine is off to Glasgow. Today it is more work in the garden and a meal out with friends in the evening. Altogether a nice weekend.

A while back I made this card for a competition. I didn't come anywhere but I thought I would share it when I found a photo of  it going through my files.

I found the backing paper in my stash and it has Christmas Roses on it.

This is a Creative Expressions die cut twice to create a shadow.

The robin was cut with a Tattered Lace die that came free with a magazine. He is sitting on a spray made with the Holley Spray die set and Festive Bough dies set both from Creative Expressions.

I had the the Christmas Rose die set from Creative Expressions last year but I only started using it this year it is so pretty.

I was quite pleased with how this turned out. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) Challenge blog - theme Things that Fly

Hi My Crafty Blogs Friends

I hope your week is going well. We are still on holiday. I did look at the weather forecast before we went it promises to be very hot and sunny. Just right for a bit of relaxing.

The new challenge starts today on the Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) Challenge blogs and the theme is Things that Fly. So not just birds but I have chosen to use a robin.

I just adore robins on Christmas cards. The background was just created with some papers from my stash.

I found a robin decoupage sheet in my Christmas stash. It is ages since I have done any decoupage. I cut the mats with some Tonic Circle dies I have had them for ages they are very useful.

The sentiment was cut with one of the Sue Wilson Festive dies I can't remember from which release.

Before we went on holiday I treated myself to this book with the intention of reading it while we are away. I don't actually read much so this is a bit of a challenge for me. I will let you know how I get on when we get back.

Enjoy the rest of the week.
