I hope you have had a great weekend. We went to Reading for our one night away which seemed rather silly but it worked out really well. We did some shopping, met our daughter and her fiancé, we had a nice meal together and saw a film. Then we split up and they did some more shopping and we came back to the hotel. Then today we had a leisurely morning before heading off to see both sets of parents and now we are home.

The card I am sharing today is one I was asked to make by a colleague at work for friends of hers who are getting married soon.

She saw a card on my blog with lots of hearts on it and she wanted a similar design but using the colours of the wedding: black, white and pink. She also wanted the words in the middle. I used my Sue Wilson Heart of Heart dies to make the hearts and the mats. I embossed the surrounding hearts with the Heart Lattice embossing folder. 

I typed the words on the computer and cut them out with the heart die. 

In this shot your can see a bit of the background. On the white mat I stamped the Clarity Stamp "All You Need is Love" stamp in CS Perfect Medium and the heat embossed it in white before inking round the edges. The black in the design was cut with a Tonic die I can't remember the name. The ribbon added a splash of darker pink.  

My colleague was very pleased with this card.

Fantasy Stampers - Love is in the Air

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a good weekend. I am off to a charity craft event today and lunch is included -how good is that. My husband is off to visit his parents. It is so hard fitting everything in.

Today sees the start of a new challenge on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge blog and the theme is Love is in the Air. Just in time for all those Valentine's makes.

I played around with this design quite a bit. 

I used the Lovebirds stamp from Clarity Stamps I stamped in black and coloured with my Promarkers. I have just bought a Sue Wilson heart die and the best bit is it comes with a die to cut a mat. 

I used another Clarity Stamp - All You Need is Love and I stamped it and heat embossed some in white and some in gold. I cut them out with the same die set.

An Early Valentine's Day Card

Everything is back to normal at our house we are all back to work and we mostly seem to be fit and well.  How are you all getting on?

This is the Valentine's Day card that I have made for my husband. I got this done early as I have some wedding invites to make in the next few weeks as well as a couple of commissions I have picked up a long the way.

I used a Clarity stamp to create the background and the focal element of this card. I stamped the All You Need is Love stamp with CS Perfect Medium and heat embossed it with White Fine Detail embossing powder. 

I cut the stamp out with one of my heart dies and to get the black mat I drew round the outside of the die and cut that out by hand,

There you have it all done and dusted and I know it is there when the time comes. I hate  making things in a rush it never ends well.  I did feel a bit guilty about the Christmas card I made him because it came from a kit. This one is a bit more creative.
