Wedding Hearts

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you have had a great weekend. We went to Reading for our one night away which seemed rather silly but it worked out really well. We did some shopping, met our daughter and her fiancé, we had a nice meal together and saw a film. Then we split up and they did some more shopping and we came back to the hotel. Then today we had a leisurely morning before heading off to see both sets of parents and now we are home.

The card I am sharing today is one I was asked to make by a colleague at work for friends of hers who are getting married soon.

She saw a card on my blog with lots of hearts on it and she wanted a similar design but using the colours of the wedding: black, white and pink. She also wanted the words in the middle. I used my Sue Wilson Heart of Heart dies to make the hearts and the mats. I embossed the surrounding hearts with the Heart Lattice embossing folder.

I typed the words on the computer and cut them out with the heart die.

In this shot your can see a bit of the background. On the white mat I stamped the Clarity Stamp "All You Need is Love" stamp in CS Perfect Medium and the heat embossed it in white before inking round the edges. The black in the design was cut with a Tonic die I can't remember the name. The ribbon added a splash of darker pink.

My colleague was very pleased with this card.

Have a great week.

Gold and Black Christmas Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you had a good weekend. We spent Sunday with my father-in-law celebrating his 91st Birthday. We enjoyed a meal out and cake back at their house afterwards. His present was some whisky to put in his tea he likes that a lot. Well it is back to the working week now. Why do weekends go so fast?

I was having a play with some of my stamps while I was working on a design and incidentally this card came into being.

I was trying to design a quick and simple card for a Design Team project this one takes just a bit too long.   After cutting the mats I started on the background.  I stamped a Clarity Snowflake stamp and a Creative Expressions stars stamp with Perfect Medium and heat embossed them with a gold embossing powder.

Here is the close up detail of the stamp it is the Silhouette Manger by Little Claire Designs. It stamped with Perfect Medium and heat embossed with a gold embossing powder. I love this stamp so much I will be using a lot this year.

The Not Just Cards first birthday Blog Hop is still going on until the end of the month. Click on the logo above  and you will be taken to the hop there are lots of prizes to be had a long the way.

I hope that you have a good week.

Thank You

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Thank you for all the get well messages. I  ended up taking two days off work and now I am mostly left with a cough. I knew I was starting to feel better when I started feeling like I wanted to make something.

I have had two very kind gifts recently and I wanted to make thank you cards for the senders.

I started with a 6" x 6"  black card blank. I cut two mats one gold and one black.

I stamped the Clarity thank you stamp in CS Perfect Medium round the edge of the black mat and I heat embossed it with a gold embossing powder. I did start by trying this with gilding flakes first but I wasn't happy with the result.

The centre panel was made with a set of stamps designed by Phill Martin. I did raise this panel on foam tape to give a little dimension.

The final touch was to add some dots in CS Olympic Gold in the corners.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the week.
