Pretty Little Card to say Hello

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We had quite a busy day on Saturday lots of things got done. Then on Sunday we had a very lazy day. It is big week for us this week. On Friday it is my husband's birthday. Before that he is going to apply for voluntary severance. The scheme has just been announced at his work. He is quite close to retirement age so it is worth trying for.

Last week I had a few scraps left over from making other cards so I decided to put them together.

Even the card blank was left over from cutting another card blank. The idea started with the small green and yellow rectangles that I found in my bits bag. The patterned paper was leftover from when I made some cards for Quick Cards Made Easy magazine.

I made the daisies with the Tatty Daisy die from the John Next Door range. These two were left over from another project. The centres were coloured with Distress Ink. The leaves were cut with the Star Flower Leaves dies from John Next Door.

The bee was also left over from another project. I do like bees.

There you have it a cute little card.

A Thank You card using my prize from the lovely Holley

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? Have you changed anything you are doing? Next week is half term I wonder how many people will rush to the beach if the weather is nice. Only time will tell. For us we will be staying home and looking after our daughter and son-in-laws pet rabbits. How they got here is another story.

This is a little card I made to say thank you to Holley for the lovely prize that I won in her month of celebration back in February. In case you are wondering I won the bee die.

This card went all the way to America to say thank you. Tomorrow it will be featured on Holley's Blog. Where I will be the Guest Designer. Here is a bit of a confession. I used up lots of bits from my craft desk to make this card. The backing paper was used in another project.

The cornflowers were left over from the box card I made for my cousin back in April. I used the Star Flower leaves dies and the Ivy Spray dies from the John Next Door range to make the foliage.

This sentiment comes with another die set.

So here is the die set I won. The great thing about this one is that there are two dies so it is easy to cut a layer to go under the black outline of the bee. I used Promarkers to colour the body.

Holly really liked her card and asked if she could feature it on her blog. Of course I said that was okay.

Crafty Catz Challenge blog - Anything Goes with the optional twist of B for Bug

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Don't Fridays come round quickly. I have just no idea where the time goes. I hope you have something nice planned for the weekend. We are hoping to finish the wedding invitations on Saturday and on Sunday we are going to take my parents out for a meal and then we will visit my in-laws. The nephew and his fiancee live next door to my in-laws so we should be able to have a discussion about the invitations and when they want them sent out.

Well the new challenge starts today on the Crafty Catz Challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes and the optional twist is B for Bug. The sponsor this time is Bugaboo Stamps. We also have a Guest Design Team slot for April if you are interested just put GDT after your name when you enter.

The aperture and frame were cut with the Double Pierced Circles from Creative Expressions. The flowery paper was in my stash.

There are many wonderful images in the store and they are a joy to colour. Click on the image and you will be taken to the store.

This image is called Bee Flower and it available HERE. I printed onto Neenah card and I coloured with Promarkers.

The sunflower was made with the Spellbinders Build a Sunflower die set. I bought the little ladybirds on one of my trips to Hobbycraft.

Hopefully the invitations will be finished this weekend, Being a destination wedding there will be no evening invitations to make. I hope you all get to do something nice.

Happy Crafting

Hugs Jackie
