Floral Tag

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your week? We finished not one but two jigsaw puzzles. I will have to order some more. Also I  was asked to make a cake topper. This was a first for me. When the card and the cake topper have been given to the recipient I will show you.

Well I really raided the scrap pile for this make absolutely everything was made from scraps. I treated myself to the John Next Door Luggage tags die set. This is what I have used here.

I used a selection of John Next door dies including: the Star Flower leaves, Small Butterflies and Small Flower die sets. The lattice is also one of his dies but I can't remember what that set was called. I used some Cosmic Shimmer Pearl PVA glue in the centre of the flowers.

I am pleased with the Luggage Tag die set. I think I will be using it a lot. It comes with some handy corners that might be good with Parchment Craft.

Spring Daffodils

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We had a lovely quiet day on Saturday. On Sunday we braved the bad weather and we met our daughter and son-in-law at Mottisfont (National Trust Property) to see the Norman Thelwell exhibition. It was really worth the effort the exhibition is fabulous. I didn't realise that Thelwell lived near Mottisfont and he did many paintings of the the local area. Of course there were original paintings of his cartoons. I do recommend this exhibition. It is on until the 22nd April we are hoping to go back sometime.

When we had our quiet day on Saturday I actually did some crafting. My husband was sorting out my parents filing and I wasn't needed. So I started by cutting daffodils with the Altenew Layered Daffodil Die Collection from issue 188 of Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine. I even had time to make them into a card.

I spent quite a long time finding card in my Snippets pile to make the daffodils and the leaves. The backing paper came from my Snippets pile too.

The dies cut beautifully and are very easy to put together.

I wanted to make a vase for the daffodils to sit in. I looked all through my dies and I came to the Bottle die set from John Next Door. So this vase is cut with the bottle die. I had some embossed card in my stash and I cut off the top of the bottle. I added a sentiment cut with a Creative Expressions die.

I do love daffodils they are so bright and vibrant after a long grey winter. I often have a bunch in the house at this time of year.

Sunflower Candi

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How has your week been so far? I has been very wet here so I am spending the last week of my holiday crafting. Not all bad then. I am hoping to get ahead with some of my Design Team makes. If everything works out I will be doing something exciting at the weekend. I will let you know about it if it actually happens.

This is just a brief  post from me today. I wanted a quick birthday card so I turned to my members gift from C&C -  the Craftwork Cards pad and Candi.

The image from the pad made the topper with the Candi added. I stick the Candi on to the card with a gell glue I find this easier than sticky pads.

I do like sunflowers they are such bright cheerful flowers.

There you have it a nice quick card.

I hope the rest of the week is kind to you.

Happy Crafting
