Unicorn Challenge blog - theme Make it Girly

I hope your week has started well. I hope you have some nice things planned for the week ahead.

This is something of a sad post for me. I have decided to step down from the Unicorn Challenge Design Team. I have been with them since the beginning so it was a hard decision to make. It is a lovely team to be part of and I have enjoyed my time with them. I wish the whole team all the best for the future.

The new challenge starts today and the theme is Make it Girly. I was asked to make a card for one of my girlfriend's friends.

It was a special birthday but I didn't want to put the age on the front some people are a bit sensitive about that. The pretty backing paper I found in my stash. 

I used the Double Pierced Circle dies from Creative Expressions to make the aperture and the frame. The oval pierced dies came from another set but I am now not sure which one. The sentiment was cut with a Crafters Companion die. The lattice was cut with an Creative Expressions die set. 

The butterfly was cut with Magical Butterflies die set from  Creative Expressions. 

Finally I made the flowers and leaves from the Christmas Rose die set also from Creative Expressions. 

I know this card was very well received. I hope you can join in with this months challenge. 

I would like to enter the TTCRD March 6th - 12th Challenge.

Delightful Digi's - Thistle Journal Cover Design

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you have had a good week and have something nice planned for the weekend. I am off to Ally Pally on Saturday we are hoping to get there early as there are so many people that I want to meet up with and of course I have a shopping list. I hope to get lots of photos if they come out I will post some here.

This is something of a sad post as this will be my last post as part of the Delightful Digi's Design Team. I have taken the hard decision to step down from this team as I am finding that I don't have enough time to make the most of the delightful images. I do wish Emma and all the rest of the team all the best for the future they are a very talented bunch.

Those of you who have been reading my blog for a while will know that I keep a journal that I write in everyday so really it is a diary. I realised recently that it is much cheaper to buy plain journals and have the fun of decorating them myself. As soon as I saw this Thistle design, that is part of the new designs collection at Delightful Digi's, I wanted to put it on one of my journals. 

This design is Thistle round I coloured  it with my Promarkers. The backing paper is from Delightful Digi's as well I inked it with a mauve Distress ink to add colour to the design. In the corners I added some corner die cuts from a Tonic set that I have. 

 

There it is my last blog post for Delightful Digi's. I will have the journal for a long time as a beautiful reminder of my time with the team.
