With Love for a Friend

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here. What have you got planned? Will there be any crafting involved? We are having a quiet weekend I have a lot of card making I need to get caught up with so I should be crafting. Those of you that know me on Facebook will know that I won't be able to resist going out for coffee and maybe cake at some point.

I think I said before that there are a few people leaving work at the end of term. One of the people leaving is my special friend she helped me when I first started working at the school and we have been friends ever since. She has always been supportive about my card making so I wanted to make her something special.

For this card I got my Sue Wilson dies again. I used Carina from the Gemini collection, from the Finishing touches collection Trailing Ivy and from the Austrian collection the Salzburg die set. First I cut all the layers I wanted. On the top purple layer I put two strips of double sided sticky sheet and covered this with CS Iced Diamonds glitter jewels. I cut a white mat to go on top and I cut the sides of it with my Carina die. The middle I embossed with some of the dies from the Salzburg collection.

I used a Spellbinders die to cut the flowers the edges were coloured with Distress ink before the flower was rolled. The ivy was cut in a bright green card and added to the design.

To make the flag I used a die from Sue Wilson Pierced Flag die cut once in purple and once in white. I trimmed the edges from the white one so that it had a purple border. The sentiment was cut with some Signature dies.

I hope she likes this card. As it is an 8" x 8" card I will be making a box to put it in at some point. I am also making a smaller version of this card for someone else who is leaving.

The time just seems to be whizzing by. Enjoy your weekend whatever you get up to.

Happy Crafting

Hugs Jackie
