New releases from the John Next Door Range

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your weekend going. We had a quiet day yesterday. There is still lots to do in the house and garden as well as things to sort out for our elderly relatives. We are planning a walk to the Country Park later this morning to see the bluebells. They were just starting to come out last week so they should be a bit more showy now. I hope you enjoy what you have planned.

I don't usually post on a Sunday but today on the Craft Store John Lockwood, aka John Next Door, is releasing some fabulous new dies. I was so lucky to be able to make some samples with them.

Here is one of the cards I made. I use the Stencil Alphabet die set, the Firth Park Tags die set and the Small Flowers and Small Leaves dies.

I think John's shows start at 6.00 pm on the Craft Store and carry on into Monday.

Have a great day.

Challenge #120 at the A Bit More Time to Craft Challenge Blog - the theme is Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I am going for coffee in the garden with friends later this morning. These sort of things seem to be happening more and more. I hope they can continue and that we all stay safe.

It is time for challenge #120 to start at the A Bit More Time to Craft Challenge blog.  The theme is always Anything Goes and there are gorgeous digi papers to be won.

When I made my uncles birthday card there were papers left over and they were just too gorgeous not to use.

For this card I used the Mix Digital Paper Set.

Our challenges are always fun and worth entering to get your hands on the gorgeous papers. Click on the logo above and you will be taken there.

This is another of my Pollyanna Pickering images from my paper kit. I do love kingfishers though I have never seen one in the wild.

It is worth having little cards like this around so you can just send someone something to let you know that you are thinking of them.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Take care and stay safe.

The A Bit More Time to Craft - Extra Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello my Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I can't believe it is July already. This has been such a strange year. So much has happened and has changed. I wonder what else is coming our way.

It is time for the new challenge at the A Bit More Time to Craft - Extra Challenge. The theme is always Anything goes and the July Challenge runs until the 28th of the month.

Okay it has to be said that I have a weakness for gingham papers. I just couldn't resist these digi papers when I first saw them.

Our challenges are always fun and you get the chance to win some wonderful Digi papers. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

I have a Pollyanna Pickering paper kit and this lovely Thrush is one of the images from the kit. I cut the image and it's mats with the Double Pierced Circle dies from Creative Expressions.

This is one of the John Next Door sentiments.

I sent this card to my uncle who is in a home in Devon. He has been there since just after Christmas and obviously the home isn't allowing visitors.

I will be back in an hour with another card.

Beccy's Place - Encore Week - Bird Song

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? My hubby is still working at home. We are still shopping for a few people. I am still doodling. Things in the garden are coming along nicely. Soon we will be able to have lettuce in our sandwiches. I have just planted some potatoes. I don't usually do things like this but I figured I would be home to look after them this year. I can't see us going on holiday at all.

This is Encore week at Beccy's Place the set of images I was sent to use was the Bird Song set. I loved using these images. They came in very useful for cards I needed to make. Today, being one of Beccy's Blog Contributors, I am featured on the Blog. As you can see HERE.

I love the main image just as it was. I added some extra papers and some die cuts using the Leafy Flourish die set from the John Next Door range. The sentiment is one of his dies too.

I created a background on the computer for the bird silhouette. The sentiment comes with the set. That ribbon has been in my stash for ages but it looks great here.

Here is the main image again on a much simpler card. It does work well.

Finally another card with the silhouette. I added a sentiment from another of Beccy's set and the music notes were die cut. There is that ribbon again.

There are still images from the set I haven't used. I think I will be using this set a lot.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Enjoy the rest of your week

Cornflower Lattice Friendship Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you getting on? I hope none of you have this nasty virus and that you can get the supplies that you need. What truly strange times we are living in. I am pleased that we are allowed out for exercise so I should still be able to walk. Recently we walked to our local Bronze Age burial mound. It is so strange that it is there. The mound is unimpressive when you see it but it has been there for a long time. There are some other paths and tracks I would like to investigate in the local area. I also have some seeds so I will be able to grow some flowers.

We wanted to lend a Beatles CD to our friends who are the Beatles fans. I also had a book to lend. So I decided to make a card to go with them. I have actually been finding it hard to craft. Which is strange as there is so much time, maybe that is the problem.

I wanted to make a pretty card with a lattice background. All the dies I used on this card are from the John Next Door range. I cut the lattice three times to make the background. I also cut the Ivy Spray four times.

I cut the Cornflower die four times in white. I made up the flowers and then I inked the edges with Distress Ink.

Because we love our friends and miss them I chose to use this sentiment.

You would not believe how many Snippets I used on this card. Everything apart from the mats and layers came out of my extensive collection of Snippets. It is strange but however much I use there always seems to be more.

You should have seen us deliver this we rang the door bell and ran away. What strange times we are living in. We did message our friends so that they knew it was there.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Stay safe and well.

Card made at a Workshop with John Next Door aka John Lockwood

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Well it is a damp dreary day here today. I have been out for a walk to try out my new waterproof coat to see if it works. I am pleased to say that I didn't really get wet at all. I did treat myself to some matching gloves and of course I had a coffee while I was out. Today my dad is having a trial day at an Adult Day Care centre. I will be phoning later to see how he got on. He won't be able to tell me that is just how it is.

I thought I would share the card I made a a workshop with John Next Door which was the day after the Farnborough Craft show. I did adapt it a little when I got home.

Everything was provided in the workshop. We used the new Izink Ice to colour some white paper. We all used three shades. I chose two greens and a yellow.

The Blossom Die plate was used to cut out the flowers and they were shaped with a ball tool. Gems were added to the centres.

The Honesty heart die was cut into one of the mats. A larger heart was cut from the coloured paper to back it.

At home I had some of the coloured paper left over so I cut a sentiment to add to the card.

I was rather pleased with this card. The flowers are very pretty. I was very good and I only bought some sparkly embossing powder at the workshop. Now I am wondering if I should have bought that flower die. Oh well there will be other lovely new things out soon.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Happy Crafting

Gone Fishin' Card and Matching Gift Bag

Hello My Craft Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We got done most of the things we were expecting to do. You always seem to run out of time.

The our friend that we met on Saturday for breakfast is going to have an operation on Tuesday. We decided to buy him some treats for when he is feeling better. We know him very well and we know what he likes to eat and drink. He also likes fishing.

I bought the Gone Fishin' set of images from Beccy's Place some time ago as I thought they would be useful. The set is available HERE. The paper I used was from a paper pad from The Works. It is a 12" x 12" pad so there was plenty of paper for both the card and the gift bag.

I used the Double Pierced Circle dies from Creative Expressions to cute out the image and its mat.

This sentiment was cut with some dies from the John Next Door Additions Dies Sentiments 1. I hope there is going to be a Sentiments 2 and maybe even 3.

Here is the card with the matching gift bag. The bag contains a bottle of ginger liqueur and some dark chocolate ginger chocolates. They are both things that our friend likes a lot. It is always a worry when some one has to go to hospital.

Always Fun Challenges - Challenge 57 Female/ Mum

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your weekend been so far? We have caught up a bit on the gardening jobs. The car hunting has ground to a halt there just doesn't seem to be much available. Yesterday we saw both sets of parents. My parents we took out for a meal I share a birthday with my mother and my dad's is five days later. It is easier if we celebrate them all together. We then took the jacket and hat back to my in-laws. It was so good that neither of us had to buy anything for our costumes for the Murder Mystery. Today we are meeting up with our daughter and son-in-law to see Infinity War and share a meal. This is one of my birthday treats.

Being Monday the new challenge starts at Always Fun Challenges. This is challenge 57 and the theme is Female/Mum. Mother's Day in America is 13th May which isn't far away. I am sharing the card I made for my mother's birthday.

I treated myself to some new dies there was a sale of Spellbinders dies on Create and Craft.  I decided to use them to make this card. The backing paper was in my stash.

If you click on the logo you will be taken to the challenge blog.

This is bunch of Lavender was made with the Lavender Bunch die set by Spellbinders cut with different shades of centura pearl card.

This die set it is the Lavender Swag also by Spellbinders. The Ovals in the background are Tattered Lace dies.

This is a Tattered Lace die.

I do like these dies I think I will be using them a lot.

Crafty Catz Challenge Blog - Anything Goes with the Optional Twist of One for the Girls

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

Yes this is a second post from me today. This time it is for the new challenge starting on the Crafty Catz Challenge blog.  The theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of One for the Girls. The sponsor this time is Star Stampz.

I cut the aperture with the Double Pierced circle dies from Creative Expressions.

There are many wonderful images in the Etsy store. If you click on the logo you will be taken there.

This image is called My Sweet Rose and is available HERE. She was printed onto Neenah card and coloured with Promarkers.

The flower were made with a Crafter's Companion die that came with the Advent Calendar. The With Love is a Tattered Lace die. I added Ranger Iced Stickles to the edge.

A few years ago I used this image for another challenge blog. When I look back I can see how my colouring has improved. I know I still have a lot to learn but it is nice to see.

Have a great weekend.

Crafty Catz Challenge Blog - Anything Goes with the optional twist of Beartastic- Sponsor Melonheadz

Hello again My Crafty Blog Friends

I am back again. I do hope that you have a wonderful weekend. As usual we will have a busy weekend ahead of us.

Just now the new challenge has started on the Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge blog the sponsor this time is Melonheadz and the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of Beartastic that means to feature a bear in your make. This time the Design Team used their own images.

I started by creating a background with Distress Oxides. I do love the chalky finish these give,

There is lots of inspiration on the website and a link to the shop if you click on the logo you will be taken there.

I have had this image for some while it is from Morgan's Art World and is called Ted it is still available HERE. The image was coloured with Promarkers.

The flowers I found in my stash and they were white. I sprayed them with ink to change the colour,   a lot of mess was made.

This is a really useful Tattered Lace die. This time all the dies I used were from Tattered Lace.

I was rather pleased with how this card turned out.

I would like to enter challenge 22 at Morgan's ArtWorld.

Have a great weekend.

Unicorn Challenge Blog - theme Perfectly Pink

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How has your week started? I hope everything is well with you and your family. I am slowly sorting out the room the bunnies used and then we can move back in all the things that are stored in there.

The new challenge starts on the Unicorn Challenge blog and the theme this time is Perfectly Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Well what do you do when you have hexagons left over? You make a card with them of course. The ribbon was in my stash and I only just had enough. I wanted to make a DL card.

The flamingos came from the bonus papers from an older issue of Quick Cards Made Easy Magazine. All the other papers were in my stash of bits and pieces.

The Hexagon dies came from an issue of Crafter's Companion Inspiration magazine.

The heart die came in a set from Creative Expressions.

The sentiment was cut with a Tattered Lace die.

Enjoy the rest of the week.
