Magical Unicorn Birthday Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? I didn't have a good day on Wednesday but things picked up after that. I am having a table at one of the Hampshire Open Studios venues in a few weeks time. I was asked. I am finding the whole thing a bit daunting, Anyway I have been making a few things for it. This card is one of them.

The background was made with one of my sheets of inky kitchen paper for the sky and the grass was a piece of watercolour card coloured with Distress Oxides.

This is the Unicorn stamp set from Woodware. I think he was stamped with Watering Can Archival ink. He was coloured with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. Some of these pens seem to have gone a bit funny and the ink blobs out. So I have taken to putting the ink on my craft mat and using a paintbrush and water to apply it. This unicorn is very sparkly which is only as it should be.

The sentiment came with the stamp set and was cut out with a cloud die.

I did the same with this sentiment.

I made the rainbow with the Double Pierced Circle dies from Creative Expressions. You do get two rainbows and lots of brightly coloured circles.

I have various cloud dies that I used on this card.  That is one more card for my table.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) Challenge the theme is Rainbows

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Here is the second post of the day from me. This time for the new challenge on the Moving Along with the Times challenge blog (MAWTT) and the chosen theme is Rainbows.

I set myself a bit of a challenge with this card. I own the Double Pierced Circle dies from Creative Expressions and I thought I ought to be able to make a rainbow with them. I am trying to use my stash rather than buy lots of new things.

Now I am rather pleased with how this turned out. I got not one but two rainbows and all the mats from the middle of the circles. For the background I used a piece of card that I had covered with dry inky kitchen roll. This was an idea from John Lockwood and it is just brilliant to not waste all the inky goodness. The grass was cut with a die from the Nativity set from Crafter's Companion. The clouds came from a Marianne build a sheep set.

The unicorn was stamped with the Woodware Unicorn stamp set. I used Watering Can archival ink to stamp onto watercolour card and then I coloured with Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.

Both of the sentiments come from the stamp set.

This shows the detail of the rainbow. I stuck the circles to a piece of card to make the rainbows easier to handle.

I was very pleased with how this card turned out and that I didn't have to buy a special die to make a rainbow.

Enjoy the rest of the day.
