I am so sorry that I have not been around much. The situation with my parents has really taken it out of me. Yesterday a private care package was put in place so that my dad could come home from hospital. Time will tell if this was the right choice. I do think it was best to try and keep them in their own home for as long as possible. I haven't crafted for weeks and I am missing it a lot. You do need head space to be able to create and I just don't have that at the moment.
Back to business. This is my card for the current challenge on the Moving Along with the Times challenge blog (MAWTT) the theme that has been set is Texture.
I have in my stash some of the 3D embossing folders from Crafter's Companion and this seemed like the right time to use one of them. I am trying to make Christmas cards where I can. I suspect this year that I will be buying cards for the first time in ages.
This is the Silent Night 3D Embossing Folder from Crafter's Companion. I used black card and two shades of Pebeo Gilding Wax. I am still a bit heavy handed with this. The ribbon was in my stash. I did find the embossing a bit tricky all my plates were too think so I ended up using sheets of card. I just had to experiment to get it right.
Why not join in with our latest challenge click on the logo and you will be taken there.
Another Christmas card for my stash and nice and flat for posting.
Enjoy the rest of the week.
I would like to enter challenge 34 at the Holly and the Ivy Challenge blog.
Happy Crafting

Ahhh this is super, what a lovely card. Im glad that the care package in now in place. Hoping that things ease over the next wee while for you all, Hazelxx
Love this card Jackie, simple to make but looks amazing. I too need to practice with my gilding wax, I always seem to get darker patches and blobs but I do love the effect.
I am glad to hear you have sorted out a care package and your dad is able to come home. I do think it is best to try and keep them in their own home for as long as possible, it is a huge wrench to move them into a nursing home both for them and yourself. Hopefully they will be happy and health in their own for for many more years.
As for craft, well it will come back once you have peace of mind.
Take care of yourself

Superb card Jackie. My sister And I made the decision to keep our parents at home when Dad cameout of hospital too. We managed to keep them there with a care package set up for two yrs until Mum became ill and unable to cope at home when they both went into a private home together. Hugs Mrs A.
Gorgeous card, Jackie, what a lovely embossing folder.
Hope the care package works out well for your parents. xx
Hi Jackie. Hope everything works out for your parents. When my dad was coming out of hospital I was outnumber by the rest of the family and he went to a nursing home which was too far for me to visit and the weather was bad for months. Love the card you have made. I made several with this die last year and will use it again this year. Take care
A really lovely card Jackie. Make sure you take time out for you. I know how difficult it can be. I'm sure your parents appreciate the plan you have in place for your Dad to be able to stay in the comfort of their own home. Shabneez x

I do like a Nativity themed Christmas Card, and your card is lovely. The wax brings out the embossing beautifull. I hope that things work out well for your parents with the carers.
