Happy 30th Birthday Box Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We had a quiet one. I needed a bit of down time after visiting my parents last week. Yesterday  started two weeks of invigilating for me. There are just a few of us going in. We are having the children who need extra time for their mocks. We can also read for them. The rest of the year group are taking their mocks in the classroom with their teachers.

A few weeks ago it was our daughter's 30th Birthday. How did that happen? I had to make a special card. So this is a larger box card. I have made a few of these this year.

For this card I actually drew the backing paper. It was something we did in the doodling sessions with Barbara Gray a while back.

I used lots of John Next Door dies to complete this care. The Stencil Alphabet dies are so good for personalising a card. I used the Stencil Numbers too and the Stencil Sentiments. The flowers were made with the Tatty Daisy die. There are also some Small Flowers and Small Leaves on there.

Our daughter loved this card. We had a lovely day together on the day. They have the dog now so she couldn't have a party. Hopefully one day the doggy will be able to cope with groups of people.

Have a good week.

As I am invigilating not much crafting is going to happen.

Happy crafting

Unicorn Challenge Blog - January Blues (Mostly Blue)

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and the great New Year. The holidays are over for me I am back to work today. I really feel like the countdown to the wedding has started in earnest I do have lots to make. I might be getting some of my local crafty friends to help  me they have all kindly offered.

The new challenge starts day on the Unicorn Challenge blog and the theme is January Blues (Mostly Blue). I do like using blue when I make my cards.

This is the card I made for my future son-in-law when he turned 30 in December.

This is actually a shaker card that shakes. I cut the Happy with  one of the Perspective dies designed by Sue Wilson. I cut the birthday from the same set lower so I could cover the happy with acetate and then mount it on two layers of foam. The void was filled with 30 confetti and this was backed with blue card.

The 30th was cut with some X-cut dies I have had for a while.

I do think the Perspective dies make really good cards for men. I will probably be revisiting this design it is so easy to change the colours and the numbers.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Happy Crafting
