My Cards made with the Press Cut Die Set - Margit's Pop Box

 Dear All

Sorry I have not been around. Life has been hectic with a new born grandson and two funerals to arrange and the on going care of my parents. I have not been making much. Though I did make some samples with the new Press-Cut Die Set - Margit's Pop Box. John Lockwood knew that I liked this style of card and he asked me to make some samples. I did enjoy immersing myself in craft for a while. My mental health has not been great. I am so lucky that I have a very supportive husband.

I had to make at least one Christmas card.

Enjoy your weekend.

Pop-up Box Card with Cosmo Flowers and Leaves

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

What a lovely start to the week. The sun is shining and I have been out in the garden. There is a lot to tidy up after the winter.

The one day special of all the new dies and pollen is still on today. It was lovely to see one of my cards on the counter.

I do like making Pop-up Box cards in fact I do have a tutorial on this blog you can find it HERE.
The paper came from an older John Next Door Box Kit. I made up the flowers and I put a blob on gel glue in the middle and covered that with pollen. They had to be left to dry I usually wait until the next day to use them. I added numbers and a banner to the box. I made stalks for the flowers and attached the flowers. I popped leave in between. All the card I used was Linen Card.

Here is the card on the counter at Create and Craft.

Have a good week.

Some of my favourite makes from 2021

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope that you all had a good Christmas. We did get to stay with our Daughter and Son-in-law. We had a lovely meal together and plenty of walks with the dog. I am sharing our special family news: in June we will become Grandparents. I still can't quite believe it. As a family we feel very blessed. There is still a long way to go but the signs are looking good.

My back has continued to be a problem. I have taken to use the laptop standing up in the kitchen,

I thought I would share some of my favourite makes from the year.  Some of these bring back special memories.

I have made a few Box cards this year. This is the one I made for our daughter's 30th birthday. I drew the paper myself. This reminds me of not only our lovely daughter but also of my love of doodling.

This is another favourite design of card. It is a Diamond Point card and there are lots of instructions on YouTube for how to make them. On my blog this has been the most looked at card of the year.

Here is the Christmas card I gave to my in-laws this year. They are both in their 90s and just recently they have started to need care. It is always nice to give them something special. The card was made entirely with John Next Door dies.

This twisted easel card was my Father-in-Laws birthday card. He still gets out in his garden every day.

I have been on the Beccy's Place design team for a long time. I do like using her images. The background was made with Snippets which I like doing a lot. There always seem to be more Snippets.

Here is a special birthday card I made again all with John Next Door dies. I am very thrilled to be one of his Angels.

I also love reusing old cards. This image worked so well with the paper.

Here is the Christmas card I made for our Daughter and Son-in-law. Our daughter has always loved penguins. These are Two Jays penguins. I had fun colouring them and cutting them our.

This is one of the cards that I made for the John Next Door Christmas box kit. I wrote two articles for the magazine, It is so lovely to get opportunities like this.

Here is one of my favourite cards I made for Beccy's Place. I do love sunflowers.

Lastly this is the Christmas card I made for our very good friends (the ones we go on Beatles trips with). Our Daughter drew them for us. I also drew the wreath. I know they were thrilled with this card. I am hoping to do more with our Daughter's images in the future.

I won't be making so many cards going forward. I have decided to stay on the Beccy's Place Design team and on John's Team of Angels. I will only be making special cards for people in between. I expect I will be blogging a lot less. This was the first year for ages we sent bought Christmas Cards.

Happy New Year to you all. I do hope that 2022 is kinder to all of us.

Happy Crafting

Two Jays Gnomes for Christmas and other occassions

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend.

I am scheduling this post to show the Two Jays Gnome stamps. Here are the cards I made.

This is just a simple CAS style card using the stamps. The colouring was done with my Faber Castell Colouring pencils.

These gnomes are so cute. The trees are from Finleys Trees dies set. I used the Stencil Christmas Sentiments dies for the sentiment. Of course I used the Stepper  Fold card die set.

Just to show that Gnomes aren't just for Christmas. The  Stepper Fold card die set if very versatile.

I do like making box cards. It is a great way to showcase the gnomes.

There is one more set of cards to come on Wednesday.

Enjoy your week.

Two Jays Penguins Christmas Cards and a Birthday Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you have had a good week. I am not posting on my blog so often. There is a lot going on. My parents both have advanced dementia. They are both at home with the support of a live in carer. As time goes on I am having to do more and more. I have decided that I am going to have a social media break for a little while. I will schedule some blog posts but that is all that will happen for a while. I will see how I feel after a break.

On Sunday Crafts-Too is celebrating its 22nd Birthday. John Lockwood has two hours of shows on the Craft Store to celebrate. For these shows I got to work with some very cute stamps for these shows.

Here is a CAS birthday card. These cute little stamps aren't just for Christmas.

I made another box card. I stamped two sets of penguins for this card.

I drew the background for these penguins. All the colouring was done with my Faber Castell Polychromo pencils.

This is a Pop-Up Stepper card. The card lays flat for posting,

Here are all my penguin makes together. Our daughter loves penguins. I am going to use these stamps to make a Christmas card for her.

Have a good weekend.

John Next Door Christmas Limited Edition Kit

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How  has your week been? Do you have something nice planned for the weekend. We don't have any definite plans we will just see what happens.

Today John Lockwood aka John Next Door released his limited edition Christmas Kit on the Craft Store. Here are the cards I made with the kit and a few other older dies and papers.

I think this card uses just about everything in the kit apart from the stars. I made the white specs on the paper with a white Posca Pen.

Here is what you get in the kit. That is double sided glitter card. It is brilliant for making ornaments.

For this card I used the Alphabet Stencil dies along with corner dies from the kit.

Those snow flakes are so pretty. I did add stars to this card.

For this card I cut the snowflake in white a few times. I laid them on the backing paper and I ran this through my die cutting machine. This imbeds them into the paper a bit. The sentiment is an older John Next Door die.

Here you have a nice simple but effect cards. Not all cards for Christmas need to be complicated.

I do like making pop-up box cards. There are instructions for them on my blog HERE. It was great having double sided glitter card as I didn't have to worry about the backs of the snowflakes.

Here are all the makes together. I do wonder if any of them will be on telly.

Crafts Galore Encore Challenge #90 - Anything Goes - Sponsor Beccy's Place

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We had a nice time with our daughter and son-in-law on Saturday. On Sunday we had coffee with friends. Tomorrow we are off to the Zoo. That will make a nice change.

Today being the first day of the month sees the start of a new challenge at the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog. The theme is Anything Goes and the Sponsor is Beccy's Place

I was asked to make a card for a special birthday for someone who loves fishing. I decided to make a Pop-up  box card. I have instructions for this type of card on my blog HERE.

There are many wonderful image sets in the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

Being silhouettes I was able to put my own colours behind the images. I had lots of fun decorating the panels. To make the name I used the  Stencil Alphabet  dies from the John Next Door range. The fish and seaweed came from the Under the Sea die set from Memory Box. The numbers were made with the John Next Door Advent numbers. The greeting was made with the Stencil Sentiments die set from John Next Door. The paper is from a pad from the Works I love it. Don't forget this type of card folds flat for posting.

I know the chap liked his card. I know a few people who go fishing so this is a great image set to have.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Have a lovely Sunday.

Fortieth Wedding Anniversary Box Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We had a lovely day on Saturday visiting our Daughter and Son-in-law. One big treat is that they have Disney Plus and we were able to watch the first few episodes of the new series Loki. They also have lovely places to walk near them which is ideal with their doggy. Their dog has recently become the brand ambassador for a brand of dog treats. He does have his own Instagram account. What a world we live in.

Our good friends had their 40th Wedding anniversary at the weekend. They are having a few days away to celebrate. This is the card I made for them.

I do like making box cards. I have made a few this year and I have helped a friend to make one too. There is  a tutorial on my blog with the instructions which you can reach HERE.

I am never quite sure which is the best way to photograph these cards.  I used a lot of John Next Door dies including: Advent Numbers, Cornflower die, Small Leaves, Stencil Sentiments. The red card is Crafts-Too Satin card and the patterned paper came from a pad in my stash.

Here is the card from another view. It is so great that these cards fold flat.

I know they liked their card and they are having a lovely time away.

Have a good week

Happy 30th Birthday Box Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We had a quiet one. I needed a bit of down time after visiting my parents last week. Yesterday  started two weeks of invigilating for me. There are just a few of us going in. We are having the children who need extra time for their mocks. We can also read for them. The rest of the year group are taking their mocks in the classroom with their teachers.

A few weeks ago it was our daughter's 30th Birthday. How did that happen? I had to make a special card. So this is a larger box card. I have made a few of these this year.

For this card I actually drew the backing paper. It was something we did in the doodling sessions with Barbara Gray a while back.

I used lots of John Next Door dies to complete this care. The Stencil Alphabet dies are so good for personalising a card. I used the Stencil Numbers too and the Stencil Sentiments. The flowers were made with the Tatty Daisy die. There are also some Small Flowers and Small Leaves on there.

Our daughter loved this card. We had a lovely day together on the day. They have the dog now so she couldn't have a party. Hopefully one day the doggy will be able to cope with groups of people.

Have a good week.

As I am invigilating not much crafting is going to happen.

Happy crafting
