Beccy's Place - New Release - Live Large

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you getting on? I must admit that I am struggling to craft. I really must set  myself some goals. I am enjoying the weekday Doodling sessions that Barbara Gray is hosting every morning on Facebook. The videos are later loaded on to YouTube so no one has to miss out.

Today I am featured on the Beccy's Place blog.

Back at the beginning of the year Beccy Muir who own Beccy's Place sent me some new images to work with, I received the very cute Live Large set.  Here is what I made.

I do love an easel card. You do have to be careful who you send them to though.

This is the set of Live Large images they are available HERE Aren't they just so cute.

With digital images it is so easy to make groups with them. I created the background on the computer too. The bunting and butterflies are die-cuts. The Hippos were coloured with my Promarkers.

I used a stitched Flag die to make the stopper for the easel. It made a good place for the sentiment as well.

This was the second card I made. The images were coloured with Promakers. All the flowers were made with punches. I really don't use these enough.

This is just a small card. I used a new die set from Sizzix, The Hippo was coloured with Promarkers and he was nice and easy to cut out. The background was made with papers.

Here are all my makes together.

Stay safe and well.

Happy birthday to "Ewe"

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? I had a fantastic Crafty Time. On Saturday we went to the Farnborough Craft Show we caught up with lots of friends and of course I bought a few things. It would have been rude not to. We visited my parents  as they live nearby. Overnight we stayed in a hotel we had a lovely room and a very nice meal in the restaurant. On Sunday after a big breakfast my husband dropped me off for a bonus workshop with Lisa Pearce (stamping) and John Lockwood (die cutting). I made two lovely cards and I have two cards to finish at home. My hubby spent the day with his parents. They all collected me after the workshop and we had a meal together before we set off home. I will share the cards I made when I have finished the ones I brought home.

It was the birthday of the lady who looks after our cow in France with her husband on their farm. They recently acquired some sheep. So I decided to make her a fun Birthday card.

When I am going to colour an image I do print them quite large. I was able to place the sheep onto a background I had made on the computer.

This image is called Birthday Ewe Trio and it is available HERE from Bugaboo stamps. I printed onto Neenah cardstock and I coloured the image with Promarkers.

I was able to place the sentiment that came with the image above the sheep before everything was printed. The cute bunting die is from Crafter's Companion.

Apart from the colouring this was quite a quick card to make. I do like Bugaboo images.

Have a great week

Not Just Cards Challenge Blog - February Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? Strictly Live was fabulous. We had so much fun with our friends. My hubby is back home safe and sound now after his trip to York.

The February Challenge has stared are at the Not Just Cards Challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes.

I am sharing a first birthday card I made for the little lad of friends of ours. In fact they are the friends that are looking after our cow, along with others, in France.

I know it is a bit traditional to use blue for a boy. The paper was in in stash.

Our challenges are always fun. Click on the blog logo and you will be taken there.

This is such a cute image. It is from an LOTV pack of images that I have had for a while. I raided my scrap box for all the die cuts. I try hard not to start a new sheet of card just for small dies.

This is a Crafter's Companion die.

The Alphabet and Numbers are also Crafter's Companion dies.

This cute little bunting die came with the Crafter's Companion Advent calendar last year.

This card along with some presents went to France earlier this year.

Not Just Cards Challenge Blog - October Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? Now I know that I am getting more intermittent between blog posts. The truth is that we have a lot of trips away during the Autumn and I am trying to keep up with my design team makes. I have noticed that traffic to my blog has decreased so I am sure that no one will mind much.

Today the new challenge starts on the Not Just Cards Challenge blog the theme is always Anything Goes.

This was the card that I made for our Great Niece who was one in September. That spotty pink paper was in my stash.

Why not come and join in with our challenge. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

This LOTV image I have had in my stash for a while. The Happy Birthday die is a Crafter's Companion one. I used the Double Pierced Circle dies from Creative Expressions to make the aperture and the frame.

When I need bunting on a card this Tattered Lace die is my go to die.

It is lovely having a Great Niece. I just love going to Next to buy things for her.

Enjoy the weekend.

Not Just Cards Challenge blog - April Challenge - Anything Goes

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you are all well. As promised I am back again today a bit later than I thought.

The April challenge has started at the Not Just Cards Challenge blog the theme is always Anything Goes.

This was a birthday card I was asked to make by a friend for their friend who loves fishing. I used some inky kitchen roll that I had put onto to card for the backing paper.  I created the background and the sentiment on the computer. I wanted to keep the design quite simple.

Why not join us for our challenge. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

This image came from the digital stamp set from Beccy's Place called Gone Fishing it is available HERE.  I have used these images for a few cards for fishermen. It is surprising how many I know.

I used a Tattered Lace die for the bunting.

I know Mike was pleased with his card.

Tri-Shutter 70th Birthday Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you have had a good week. The weekend is not far away now. Today I will be helping at another Felting Workshop and  we will be making pictures. I wasn't expecting to be involved today but the other lady who helps is unfortunately ill which is a shame. Tonight we are going to the theatre with friends to see Rainman.

I wasn't going to blog today but then I was looking through my files and I found this Tri-Shutter card that I made for a friend's birthday back in December.

I love this style of card. They are rather impressive, they fold up to go in a small envelope and they are great for using all your small dies. The chap in question is the husband of one of my crafty friends. She made her card to him at my house so it would be a surprise for him. This meant that I had a good idea about things he liked. I used a music embossing folder for the backing as he likes music.

All the scoring was done on my scoring board and I used a craft knife to cut the slits. The colours I used are the ones of his football team.

I just used small dies to fill in the spaces. It is fun finding ones to fit with the theme.

I know he liked this card and that he had a great birthday. I might just make one like this for my uncle who is 85 soon.

Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) - For A Man - Welcome Home Dad

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? This is a busy blog day for me with two Design Team posts.

The new challenge starts on the Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) challenge blog and the theme is For a Man. I made a card to welcome my Dad home when he came out of hospital after a month.

I have wanted to try an Eclipse card for a while and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. The backing paper was made using a piece of 6 x 6 Washi Sheet stuck to some white card.

Click on the logo and you will be taken to the latest challenge.

I have some large alphabet dies that I used to cut out the letters of Dad.

I used a Tattered Lace bunting die and one of their alphabet dies.

I think he liked his card. My dad's memory is not very good anymore which is a shame.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Crafty Catz Challenge blog - ATG with the optional twist of Summer Fun

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? It has just been so hot. I do find it hard to get on with jobs. My laptop gets very hot which makes it hard to use in the hot weather. On the plus side I have been able to test clothes that I am taking to Malta to see how comfortable they are in the heat.

I am hosting the new challenge that starts at the Crafty Catz Challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of Summer Fun. The fabulous sponsor is Paper Shelter.

The backing paper at the backing was an old one from back when I made a card for the long gone Quick Cards Made Easy magazine. I added bunting at the top made with Tattered Lace dies.

Our fantastic  sponsor has wonderful images in the store. If you click on the logo you will be taken there.

This image is called Summer Attitude and she is available HERE. There seem to be quite a few images on sale at the moment including this one. I found an image to use as a background and I used the pre-coloured image from the set.

I have been asked to make a tropical themed wedding card and I bought the Tim Holtz Tropical Sizzix die set for that card. It was so good to be able to try our the dies on this card as they fitted with the image so well.

The trees, flowers and leaves all came with the same die set.

Watch out for a  tropical themed wedding card in the future. It would be so lovely if you could join in with the challenge at Crafty Catz.

I would like to join in with the following challenges;

Have a great weekend.

Tri- Shutter Baby Shower Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? Today is our daughter's birthday and she will be working today. Later we are going to meet her and our son-in-law for a meal to celebrate.

Last week I was asked to make a card for a Baby Shower. This was a first for me and I had to ask for a little guidance. I was sent a picture for inspiration though the card in question had been made with a die set. I decided to hunt around the internet to see what I could find. What I found was how to make a Tri-Shutter card.

Before you get worried the mother to be in question knows that she is having a boy. I found a YouTube film that had a template that I could download. Now being me I change the measurements a bit. I did all the scoring with my Hougie Board. Then I had to be brave and use a Stanley Knife to cut the slits. I wanted a smooth cut so scissors would't do.

I printed the paper it has tiny blue hearts on it. The dies came from my stash.

I photographed the card from different angles so it is possible to see all the dies I used.

This photo shows how the card sticks out. I made a place on the back to sign. It folds up really small so it doesn't need a very big envelope.

Here is the card with other at the Baby Shower.

Don't be too shocked but I made a Christmas card.

I found some pretty papers to use in the background. I also had a look through my left over die-cuts and used some of them.

There are many wonderful images in the store if you click on the logo you will be taken there.

This image is called Best Frenemies and is available HERE. I printed onto Neenah card and coloured the image with Promarkers.
