Happy Birthday - Birds by Pollyanna Pickering

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you had a great weekend and are ready for the week ahead. We had a lovely weekend. On Saturday I went to a craft workshop and my husband met a friend in town for lunch in the evening we had a meal with friends. On Sunday in the evening we headed into Southampton to see the light show on the city walls it was amazing. I hope they do more events like this in the future.

I was having a play with some new dies. I am naughty I keep buying myself new bits and pieces

I decided to make a trellis to match the image  with the Trellis Edger die set by Creative Expressions.

The Happy Birthday was cut with a Crafter's Companion die.

This is another image from my pad of images by Pollyanna Pickering.

To match the flowers in the image I cut the leave from green vellum with the Laurel die set by Creative Expressions and the flower with the Petite Peony Cluster die set.

Here are some of the photos I took last night at the light show in Southampton.

These hanging lights changed colour and made patterns all to gentle music. You could stand among them too.

There were lots of images projected onto the historic walls.

It is my half term holiday this week and I have managed to fill every day with seeing different people it is really nice. Someone is even taking me shopping to look at Mother of the Bride outfits. Enjoy your week.

Heart of Hearts Engagement Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope that you are having a wonderful weekend. We must not forget that the clocks change tonight. Yesterday we went to visit my parents to try to sort out their recently bought computer. I am very happy to report that we left the computer up and running I really wasn't expecting that. We also took away lots of old computer equipment to be recycled.

A few weeks ago I was asked to make an Engagement card. This is the design I came up with.

I had the patterned paper in my stash and I based the colours I used in this design on this paper.

The sentiment was cut with some Brittania dies.

I love the Heart of Hearts die set by Sue Wilson. I used a different patterned paper behind the hearts die.

I decorated the corners with the Configurations die Petite Arched Adornment.

The lady I made this card for was very pleased.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Happy Crafting

Back from Holiday

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a good week. I have just got back from a few days in Amsterdam I must say it is a fascinating place to stay. There is so much to see and do.

Today's card I made with a die my good friend gave me for my birthday a few weeks ago. It is the Configurations Petite Arched Adornment die by Sue Wilson. It might be small but it is amazingly versatile.

I must have used it in its most basic form just to make corners. The edges line up  nicely and I was able to cut a square for the centre that I embossed with the A4 embossing folder Bed of Roses also by Sue Wilson. I cut two small squares one of the backing paper and one in white to hold the sentiment that I cut in black.

Please forgive me I am going to share some pictures from my holiday.

This is a typical view round Amsterdam there are so many canals.

This is not a working mill it has been turned into a bar. There are only two windmills in the city the others are in the countryside.

It isn't really the right time for tulips but we did see a few roundabout. This picture was taken at the tulip museum - yes there is such a thing and all the signs were in English so just for tourists.

Do you remember Miffy? Well Miffy is 60 this year and there are many decorated Miffys around and about to celebrate her special birthday. Unfortunately they aren't all in Amsterdam so we couldn't see them all. The ones we saw were very cute.

Here is a reminder of my simple little card it measure 6" x 6" so a small one for me.

I hope you didn't mind me sharing a few of my holiday photos. I hope the rest of the week is good for you and your plans.

Happy crafting

Hugs Jackie
