Winter Birds Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We had a lovely trip to Mottisfont on Monday and what was my hubby's last ever day's leave. The weather was nice so it was alright to have coffee outside. They had some very nice plants there too. Now my hubby is into his last few days of work. He finishes on 30th that's next Monday. Life will certainly be different.

I am still making Christmas cards. I am pretty sure I will be sending more this year. What a strange year we have had.

I do like making cards from old cards. When I saw this image I just had to use it. The patterned paper was in my stash, I do like to join in with the Rudolph Days Challenge throughout the year. It hard to believe it will be that start of December next week.

We love seeing the birds in our garden and we do feed them. There a couple of cheeky squirrels too.

This is a Creative Expressions die.

This is another one for the Christmas card stash.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Wedding Card for a Special Couple

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I haven't said much about this but I am invigilating this week and next. Schools are staying open so the invigilating will carry on. There is only a small group of us involved this time. We are looking after a smallish group of children in one venue. The room is ventilated. We wear masks and have sanitiser. It is good to be working. Our other news is that the bunnies have gone home. Our daughter and son-in-law came yesterday and collected them. Now we have a lot of sorting out to do. As our friend said you are now free to go out or go away now lockdown has started.

Last Saturday our friends got married. We couldn't attend but we watched online. They has already reorganised the date once and the then reorganised because of the change in numbers. Now they are grateful that they fitted it in before the next lockdown. Here is the card I made for them.

The backing paper I used is one of the Claritystamp Designer papers. This one made the perfect backdrop to the die cuts.

All the dies I used are from Crafter's Companion. The main die is called Just Married and is from the Rustic Wedding collection.

This dies is also from the Rustic Wedding collection. I have had it for a while and this it the first time  I used it. I have no idea what it is called but it is very pretty.

This image was taken from the television. It was so lovely to be a part of the wedding even though we were at home.

I hope the couple have a  very happy future together. What a strange year to get married in.

I hope the rest of the week is kind to you.

Two cards made with the Delicate Pine Frame Die Set

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We had a busy time as usual. We did buy a tiny Christmas Tree and it is in the lounge waiting to be decorated.

A little while ago I was lucky and I won a die on the Crafter's Castle Challenge Blog. It arrived last week and I couldn't wait to have a play.

I won the Delicate Pine Frame die from Memory Box. That includes the frame the tree and the birds.  I added a snow background with the Winter Wonderland die from Sizzix. The deer come with that die set too. The Happy Christmas comes from the Star Tags dies set from John Next Door.

I made another card with the same design in  red, white and blue.  I know just who to send this card too.

Here they are together. I am think I am getting close to the number of Christmas cards I need. If I find I am short I might make some more of these. Have a great week.

Saturday evening our daughter is coming to stay she is attending Minamicon in Southampton and will be dropped here after. Then the plan is to spend Mother's Day together we have a meal booked at a local Prezzo (one that isn't closing down).

The new challenge starts today on the Crafty Catz Challenge blog. The theme is Anything Goes with the optional theme of Layer it Up. Loving my layers this challenged suits me well. The sponsor is Digi Doodle Studios.

The new challenge starts today on the Crafty Catz Challenge blog. The theme is Anything Goes with the optional theme of Layer it Up. Loving my layers this challenged suits me well. The sponsor is Digi Doodle Studios. I made the backing paper myself. I used a shiny card stock ( I had some left over from our daughter's wedding) I got my inks out I don't have many. Onto a piece of cotton wool I put some surgical spirit then I picked up some of the ink. I dappled the inky cotton wool all over the card. I left it to dry and the colours moved around as it dried. It was a great way to use up some of the shiny card that was no use for making the table favours it just took too long for the glue to dry.

There are many wonderful images in the store click on the logo and you will be taken there,

This the Birdy Digi Stamp and it is available HERE. She was printed onto Neenah card and coloured with Promarkers. I cut the image out by hand.

I found all my bird dies and I cut them in blues and added them to the design.

These little birds are so cute.

My most useful Crafter's Companion die.

Yet another bird.

There you have it. I did enjoy making the background. I do like to experiment.

Have a great weekend.

Emerald City Crafts Challenge Blog - Challenge 3 always Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

I am back this time for the third challenge on the Emerald City Crafts Challenge blog as always the theme is Anything Goes and we really mean that.

This month I decided to decorate a tag. I used some lace from my stash and I added die cut feathers and butterflies.

The bird image comes from the Les Beaux Oiseaux Designer Ephemera available from Linda Simpson Designs. The images come in two different sizes.

http://lindasimpsondesigns.com/

Linda Simpson has a new website where you can purchase digital downloads of the ephemera and papers. If you click on the image you should be taken to the store.

This shows some of the detail of the Delicate Feather Tattered Lace die that I used.

I do enjoy decorating tags the images and papers make is easy and they are a good way to use up small bits and pieces from your stash.

Enjoy the rest of the day.

Happy Crafting.

Happy Birthday - Birds by Pollyanna Pickering

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you had a great weekend and are ready for the week ahead. We had a lovely weekend. On Saturday I went to a craft workshop and my husband met a friend in town for lunch in the evening we had a meal with friends. On Sunday in the evening we headed into Southampton to see the light show on the city walls it was amazing. I hope they do more events like this in the future.

I was having a play with some new dies. I am naughty I keep buying myself new bits and pieces

I decided to make a trellis to match the image  with the Trellis Edger die set by Creative Expressions.

The Happy Birthday was cut with a Crafter's Companion die.

This is another image from my pad of images by Pollyanna Pickering.

To match the flowers in the image I cut the leave from green vellum with the Laurel die set by Creative Expressions and the flower with the Petite Peony Cluster die set.

Here are some of the photos I took last night at the light show in Southampton.

These hanging lights changed colour and made patterns all to gentle music. You could stand among them too.

There were lots of images projected onto the historic walls.

It is my half term holiday this week and I have managed to fill every day with seeing different people it is really nice. Someone is even taking me shopping to look at Mother of the Bride outfits. Enjoy your week.

Creative Artist - Canvas

Hi My Crafty  Blog Friends

It is Friday the weekend has arrived. We have a fun day planned tomorrow. Our daughter and her fiancé will be visiting as it is my birthday on Monday and that is the best day for use to get together. We will be starting off with hat shopping for a wedding in July.

My Design team makes have been nicely spread out this month. Last month three of them came together on the same day. Being the first Friday of the month the new challenge starts on the Creative Artiste challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes.

We have a sponsor Maja Design the prize will be a pack sent out from the sponsor.

I have made something I have never made before - a canvas.

I quite enjoyed making it in the end. I used lots of things from my stash that I haven't used before. This is quite a small canvas it measures 6" x 8". First I covered it with Gesso and then a layer of tissue paper to get some texture going. I found some spray inks in my stash and I had fun spraying the tissue paper. Once this was dry I used texture paste and masks to create some more texture. Once everything was dry I went through my crafts bits stash and added bits and bobs to the canvas.

The butterfly was created with a Sizzix die and stamp set.

The flower was made with the Sizzix Bigz die Tattered Florals. I love how those dies can cut fabric.

The birds are from Marianne dies,

This bird started out white.

More of the Tattered Florals. The bunting was created with a Tattered Lace die and the die cuts were left over from another project.

I did enjoying making this canvas. Next time I will have a bit more idea of what to do.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Happy Crafting

Sweet Little Bird

Hi My Blog Friends

I hope you have had a good weekend. We had a nice time in Brighton but unfortunately I started a cold on Saturday  evening meaning that I didn't feel much like looking around today so  we came away earlier than we expected. I must say it is nice to be wrapped up in the warm and home and not wandering around in the cold. At least it wasn't raining. I had one very nice piece of news waiting for me when I got home I had come joint first in the Fantasy Stampers Challenge - Fairy Nice.

Today's card is one that I made using one of the free stamps from Cardmaking and Papercraft Issue 140. I liked the stamps so much I also bought the matching dies they are very pretty I think they will be very useful.

This is a smaller card for me being 6" x 6". I stamped the image onto some white card with black archival and I heat embossed it with CS Clear fine detail embossing powder. Once this was done I had some fun colouring the image with Promarkers.

I cut the image out with one of my Tonic circle dies and I inked round the edge of the image once it was cut. I cut a slightly larger circle in black card and then I cut the Spellbinder die twice once in pink and once in black. You can see from the image how I layered  all the elements up.

I used some patterned paper from my stash and I raided my snippets stash for the extra patterned paper. In fact lots of the card I used came from my rather extensive Snippets stash. One day I will get it under control.  The ribbon came from the wrapping of a pyjama set I had at Christmas. I would like to enter Pixie's Snippets Playground - 162.

I hope you have a good week.

Happy Crafting

A get well card and my stash from Ally Pally.

This is a  quick card to send to someone who has just has an operation. I made the frame by scoring with my Hougie board. The lattice die and the birdcage are Spellbinders and the bird and leaves  a  Marianne die. The flowers were punched and shaped. The  backing paper I had in my stash. Finally the sentiment was one from a set designed by Sam Poole. I promised to make some cards that could be sold at a Macmillan garden party I might use this design.

This is what I bought at Ally Pally on Saturday. I had a brilliant time. I saw demos by Sam Poole, Phill Martin (I helped him by peeling the backing paper off his double sided tape) and Julia Watts. I spoke to Sue Wilson she was making lots of bows. I'm kicking myself because I didn't take any photos they would have been fun to put on here.

Thank you for looking at my blog.

Memory Box Owl Birthday Card

I was lucky enough to be give a stash of card that I raided for this card. The owl came from the Memory Box set Heart Owl Tree. I just used the owl and cut it out many times in lots of different card. I found some scripted paper in my stash and cut out the backgrounds for the owls. I ink with distress inks rusty hings and walnut stain. I tend to blend my inks to get the colour I want. I used red tape, pinflair gel glue and Aleene's turbo tacky glue to stick it all together. The card blank was made with a piece of A3 centura pearl card. The finished card is 8 x 8 inch. I have plans to make some smaller cards with this design.

Thanks for looking.

Birthday Card made with a Crafter's Companion Kit

The kit was so pretty, it was hard choosing where to start. I needed a birthday card and this is what I came up with. The kit did all the hard work for me I just had to add some ribbon and some die cut blue butterflies. I wanted a square card ( have you spotted my obsession?) so I cut the paper and hid the join with the ribbon I didn't want to miss out on any of those gorgeous flowers.  The finished dimension of the card is 8 x 8 inch.

Thank you for looking.

Birdcage and Birds Birthday Card

Here is a card I made for a friend at work who likes the cards I make with birds on them.

The finished card is 6 x 6. I used Centura Pearl card for the background that I inked with  Faded Jeans  and Peacock Feathers Distress ink. I stamped a Clarity Stamp Birdcage and then I embossed it using a Special touch mask. The cage is a Spellbinder die and the birds and leaves are Marianne dies. I punched the flowers with a Martha Stewart punch. The centres of the flowers and the corner pearls are made with Beads in a Bottle by Tulip. It is all stuck together with Aleene's Turbo Tacky glue.

I'm still learning about blogging. I will get better at this.
