Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) Challenge blog - Use ribbon on your Project

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I have been keeping myself busy and I have been able to do a bit of crafting. It has been good to get back to making things.

The new challenge starts today on the Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) Challenge blog and the theme is to Use some Ribbon on your Project. We are very lucky to  have a sponsor this time, Crafty Ribbons.

Can you believe it has been over a year since our lovely daughter and son-in-law got married. Of course I had to make a special card for their anniversary. I used a Tattered Lace Oval Shutter Card die set to make the card base and cut all the mats and layers.

We are very lucky to have been sponsored by Crafty Ribbons this time. There will be a prize. If you click on the logo you will be taken to the store.

The topper was left over from the invitations and features the Lovebirds stamp from Clarity stamps. They were coloured with Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. The ribbon was leftover from the wedding too.

I made a box to hold the card. On the card and the box I used the Cape Daisy die set and the Faux Quilled leaves from Creative Expressions to decorate the box. .

I know they liked their card. The anniversary was back in July in fact the day my dad was taken into hospital.

Crafty Catz Challenge blog - Anything Goes with the optional twist of Use some ribbon or twine

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? Have you got something nice planned for the weekend. On Saturday we will be attacking the ivy in our garden one more time. In the evening we are going to a Barbecue to meet other people who have invested in cows for our friends farm. I am quite excited about owning a cow. The best bit is that it will be on a farm in France we won't be looking after it ourselves. On Sunday we are going to the Portsmouth Papercraft show. I like to support local events. I have a list it should be fun.

Being Friday the new challenge starts on the Crafty Catz Challenge blog, The theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of using ribbon or twine. The sponsor this time is Crafty Ribbons. We have a Guest Design Team Call for July if you are interested put GDT after your name when you enter and we will be in touch.

I treated myself to the Ribbon Threader die set from John Next Door. I love that the dies are so versatile that you can frame an image with them. The ribbon was left over from the first wedding invitations that I ever made and that was a while ago. The image is from All Dressed Up Stamps as far as I can tell she is called Sassy. The image was free in the Kit and Clowder colouring Facebook group. She was printed onto Neenah card and coloured with Promarkers.

If you like ribbons you are going to want to check out their store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

I was trying to show how the Ribbon Threader dies work.

Have a great weekend.

Crafty Catz challenge 404 Anything Goes with the optional twist of Using some Pretty Ribbon

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

This is the first of two posts from me today. Being Friday the new challenge starts on the Crafty Catz Challenge blog and I am the host this time. The sponsor is Crafty Ribbons and the Design Team used their own images I chose the optional theme of Use some Pretty Ribbon.

The Crafty Catz Challenge blog has a Guest Design Team call for March out at the moment. If you are interested put GDT after your name with your entry.

My mother-in-law loves poppies this card is for her. I cut the image and the mats with the Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expressions. The embossing folder I used is  Heart Lattice also from Creative Expressions. The sentiment was cut with some Emerald dies.

If you go to the store there is more than just gorgeous ribbon it is well worth a visit. If you click on the logo you will be taken to the store.

The poppies are come in a set from Beccy's Place I purchased them knowing my Mother-in-law would love them. The set is called Poppies and is available HERE.  I used the pre-coloured set to save a bit of time. I do love red poppies.

It is not long now and I will need this card.

Have a great weekend.

Crafty Catz Challenge Blog - Anything Goes with the optional twist of use some ribbon

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is nearly here. I hope you have something nice planned. Today I will be popping up to our newly refurbished Co-op as apparently they will be giving out Prosecco. On Saturday we will be visiting our daughter and son-in-law to discuss holiday plans and on Sunday we are having some old friends round for lunch.

Being Friday the new challenge starts on the Crafty Catz challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of use some ribbon. The sponsor is Crafty Ribbons.

We are also on the look out for Guest Design Team members for November. If you are interested please put GDT after your name on your entry. We would love you to join us.

When I went to Ally Pally I saw a demo using weaving dies. I thought I ought to be able to do that with ribbon.

They have some wonderful ribbon click on the logo and you will be taken to the store.

I stuck the backing paper to the top mat and then with a Spellbinders bauble die I cut an aperture. I used red line tape on the back of the aperture to hold the ribbon in place. I only peeled back the backing on the tape as I need it. I laid strips of the green ribbon down first it is double sided do I alternated the colours. The I took the gingham ribbon and wove it in between the green. When I had finished I stuck a square of card over the back of the ribbon to hold it in place. I stuck pearls round the edge of the aperture.

To decorate the top I cut the Festive Bough and Holly Spray dies from Creative Expressions. I used Berry Red Pearl PVA to  create the berries on the holly.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
