Moving Along with the Times - Wedding or Anniversary

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I have another morning of invigilating ahead. But after I am going out to lunch with a friend for her birthday which will be lovely. We might even visit a craft store. We both make cards.

Today the new challenge starts at the Moving Along with the Times Challenge blog. There is some news about the challenge blog over there as well. The theme of the challenge has been chosen by CAZ and it is Wedding or Anniversary.

I made this card a while back for our good friends who like to dance.

For the background I used the Foston Fold die set from the John Next Door range.

Why not pop over to the challenge blog and join in with the fun? Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

Over the top I added a dancing couple. This die is called First Dance and it is a Signature die.

The flowers were cut with a small die that comes with the Foston Fold Die set. I added die cuts made with the Leafy Flourish die set. They match the leaves on the Foston Fold die. I am  a sucker for things that match. I added some small butterflies as well.

Their anniversary was back in July it is about the same time as our Daughter and son-in-law's. I have made a lot of wedding and anniversary cards this year.,

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Have a great day.

Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) Challenge blog - Use ribbon on your Project

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I have been keeping myself busy and I have been able to do a bit of crafting. It has been good to get back to making things.

The new challenge starts today on the Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) Challenge blog and the theme is to Use some Ribbon on your Project. We are very lucky to  have a sponsor this time, Crafty Ribbons.

Can you believe it has been over a year since our lovely daughter and son-in-law got married. Of course I had to make a special card for their anniversary. I used a Tattered Lace Oval Shutter Card die set to make the card base and cut all the mats and layers.

We are very lucky to have been sponsored by Crafty Ribbons this time. There will be a prize. If you click on the logo you will be taken to the store.

The topper was left over from the invitations and features the Lovebirds stamp from Clarity stamps. They were coloured with Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. The ribbon was leftover from the wedding too.

I made a box to hold the card. On the card and the box I used the Cape Daisy die set and the Faux Quilled leaves from Creative Expressions to decorate the box. .

I know they liked their card. The anniversary was back in July in fact the day my dad was taken into hospital.

Happy Craftng

Moving Along with the Times Challenge Blog (MAWTT) - Theme Love

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

This is a busy morning there is a second post from me. As you can see the new challenge has started on the Moving Along with the Times Challenge blog and I am the host this time. I chose the theme of Love. It just seemed like the right time of year what with Valentine's Day coming up. But you don't have to stop there. So many other types of cards could be made for anniversarys, weddings, engagements or just to let someone know you care.

I made an anniversary card for my husband. Our anniversary is in April. It is fine for me to share his card as he doesn't read my blog or do Social Media. We had a huge break through when he agreed to do WhatsApp and now we can have family chats and he doesn't get left out.

I started with the image from an old card. I used the colours from the image for the mats and layers. The last grey layer was embossed with the Heart Lattice embossing folder from Creative Expressions.

This image came from a large card. I thought it might look a bit like us on one of our trips.

This is a signature die.

This image came from another card. I used the Heart of Hearts die set to cut the hearts.

Now I have just got to remember where I have put this card when our anniversary comes. This year it is on a bank holiday so we will be able to send the day together.

My Favourite Cards of 2017

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you had an enjoyable Christmas. Ours went like this we sang in the Choir again on Christmas Eve and our daughter and son-in-law came to the service to see us and share a meal after. Then on Christmas Day we went to Newbury to share the day with our daughter, our son-in-law and our new in-laws. We had a lovely time together. On Boxing Day we visited my husband's parents in Aldershot they were having a drop in. It was lovely to see them and lots of other members of the family. Things are a bit calmer for us  now in between Christmas and New Year. I am hoping that we will see the new Star Wars film at some point.

I was thinking of doing a Top Five cards of the Year but is it so hard to choose so I have decided to do a card for each month.

There you have it. This has been the year that our daughter got married. I retired. My colouring has improved. I purchased a stamping platform and that has improved my stamping. I have won a few challenges and been published in magazines a few times. We had some nice trips away. All in all it has been a good year for us. I wonder what next year will bring.

Happy New Year to you and your families.

Take care.

Moving Along With the Times (MAWTT) theme Wedding, Anniversary Engagement

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? We were very successful with our fridge and freezer shopping and they are arriving later today. It is good to have that sorted out. We have been able to have a sort out in the kitchen as well.

The new challenge starts on the Moving Along with the Times challenge blog and the theme is Wedding, Anniversary or Engagement all about happy couples really.

It is too soon for me to share the wedding card I have made for our daughter and her fiance. I am sharing an anniversary card I made for some good friends.

I made a wedding card earlier in the year with a very similar design. I used the corner die from the French collection designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.

I cut this frame with the Innsbruck die set from the Austrian collection by Sue Wilson. The sentiment was cut with a Signature die.

Enjoy the rest of the week. I will let you know how we get on with the fridge and the freezer.

A Bottle of Vine Anniversary Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Well the weekend is nearly here. I hope you have something nice planned. We will be doing more things for the wedding as it really isn't very far away now. I have even had my hair coloured yesterday which is a first for me. We are also going to try and fit in looking for a new fridge. If you are wondering how we are managing we have a spare fridge which we are using in the meantime.

Last week at my mother-in-law's 90th birthday meal we realised that my husband's brother and his wife were about to celebrate their 35th Wedding Anniversary. They got married the same year as us. Their wedding was quite unconventional but lots of fun with the reception being on a boat down the Thames with a Jazz band. As I had treated myself to some new stamps and matching dies and  I wanted to try my new Tim Holtz stamping platform I decided to make them a card.

They do like a drink and fine wine is often on offer when you visit them so that was the inspiration behind this card.

I knew I wanted to use my new stamps with Heartfelt Creations Italiana Grapevines stamps and matching dies. They were stamped in black archival and coloured with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. The dies were nice and easy to line up.

My new stamps, which also had a matching die set, are the Honey Doo Crafts A Bottle of Vine set. They were also stamped with black archival and coloured with Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens and then cut out with the dies I had treated myself to. 😊

There is no sentiment I popped that inside.

My Husband's Anniversary Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is the week going? We have had lots of wind and rain and our poor fence has finally given up. Luckily the fence repair man is coming today so it should be all sorted out.

It is our wedding anniversary at the beginning of April about the time of the wedding I have been making all the stationery for. I still have a few last minute bits to make for the wedding so I wanted to get ahead with my husband's card.

I love the Heart of Hearts die set and I wanted to use it for this anniversary card. I started by making an 8" x 8" card blank and I embossed the top mat the the Heart Lattice embossing folder which was then inked with a red Distress Ink.

I cut the Heart of Hearts die in red and removed all the hearts. Then I covered some black card with  double sided sticky sheet. I used the larger heart die from the set to cut the black hearts. I stuck the red hearts to the black hearts using the sticky sheet and covered the exposed sticky  with a fine clear glitter.

This shows some of the detail  in the background. I use the Heart Lattice embossing folder so much it is just so useful. Inking over the embossing really brings out the detail. I cut the black swirls with some Tonic dies from my stash. I got them so long ago I can't remember what they are called. I used the waste hearts from the original die cutting to add some extra interest to the background.

It is fine for me to share this card. My husband never visits my blog or my Facebook page. He is supportive in lots of other ways so I am not worried.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Happy Crafting.

Tattered Lace - Cute Dinosaurs

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

It is Friday and the weekend is nearly here. Before I forget, the film we saw on Tuesday was Black Mass, starring Johnny Depp and Benedict Cumberbatch,  it was a good film but rather violent.

There are new Tattered Lace shows on Create and Craft today starting at 8.00 am. I was sent two cute Dinosaur dies to make samples with. This is what I came up with:

This is an 8" x 8" card using both of the dinosaurs.

This die is called Dinosaur. I cut the eyes separately in white and added black behind. I put brown glitter card behind.  I had the mottled paper in my stash.

This die is called Stegosaurus.

I made an anniversary card. I cut the Dinosaur die in two different colours and added bows in different places to suggest that they were a couple.

I made a gift bag. The balloons were cut with my ScanNcut. I think this design would be great for a children's party.

I cut the Dinosaur die in gold twice and added matching bows to make them male and female. This might make a fun engagement card.

These are just a bit of fun, bags of dinosaur poo,  really it is Maltesers.

Here are all my makes together. I will try to watch the shows but they start when I am at work.

Have a great day.

Happy Crafting

Pop-up Box 45th Wedding Anniversary Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Not long and it will be the weekend. I am looking forward to the weekend as I am off to the Farnborough Craft show and I have been promised some storage for my crafty stash. We have been measuring and we know what will fit in the space we have. I do hope it will make me more organised.

This card is for a commission and I started it before I became ill but I had to leave it alone for a while. When I was ill I found it very difficult to be creative things just didn't seem to turn out right. Today I managed to finish it at last.

The colour for a 45th Wedding Anniversary is Sapphire so I chose to make this card with pearlised royal blue card. There is a page on this blog which gives the measurements and scoring guide to make this type of card.

This shows the  position of the slats and that the back panel says Mum and Dad.

The panel at the front.

The side panels were embossed to add texture and interest.

This shows the numbers and the flowers. The flowers  were made with the Spellbinder die set Blossom Three a flat backed pearl was added to the centre of each.

There you have it I hope the lady who ordered it likes it. It will fit into an 8" x 8" envelope. It still fascinates me that this type of card will fold flat for an envelope.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Happy Crafting
