Ruby 40th Wedding Anniversary Z - Fold Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend and are ready for the week ahead. We had a busy weekend. On Friday we set up my small table at the Hampshire Open Studios event. On Saturday my husband worked on the talk he was going to give at his party. I made the house generally ship shape. Then on Sunday it was the big tea party at our local tea shop. We had a lovely time and the food and drink was appreciated as was the talk. Now it is all back to normal. Although there is a bit more cake in the house than there usually is.

When we came back from Lille I had a 40th Wedding Anniversary card that I had to make as we were going to the party. I had been  waiting for a photo and I didn't receive one. So I had to adapt  my design.

I decided on the Z - Fold card design. I did all the scoring on my Hougie board. All the mats and layers were cut with the guillotine. The Happy Anniversary die is a Signature die. The 40 was cut with an X- Cut die set.

The heart and flourish dies are all from the John Next Door Range. The letters were made with a Tonic die set.

Here I am beside my little table. It didn't take long to set up. I am going back to help with the teas and coffees tomorrow so I will be able to check up on it.

Our friends liked their card and we enjoyed the party. I met lots of people that I have heard of over the years.

Oakham Lattice Wedding Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We got back from Suffolk late on Monday. Yesterday I had a bit of time to craft. It was hard to choose what to make and then I remembered a couple we sit with in church who are getting married early next month.

I decided to use the Oakham Lattice die set. I thought it would look good in the easel card format.

I have no ideas what colours they have chosen for the wedding but I thought white and gold would look good. I just love the Oakham Lattice die set from the John Next Door range. There is so much detail in the dies. I added a heart cut with the Mr and Mrs die set from Crafter's Companion.

To make the stopper for the twisted easel I used the centre dies from the Oakham Lattice die set. The middle section is raised up on foam pads. The congratulations was cut with another Crafter's Companion die. You can't see it in the photos but I used a white glitter card for a bit of sparkle.

I am pleased with how this card turned out. I can see lots of potential with this die set. To me it has an Art Deco feel.

Moving Along with the Times Challenge blog - the theme is Bugs

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I am having quite a quiet week which is great for catching up on crafty makes of one sort or another. The following couple of weeks are going to be rather busy.

Today sees the start of a new challenge at the Moving Along with the Times Challenge blog and this time the theme is Bugs. By this we mean any type of insect.

I wanted to make an Valentine's Day card for my husband and I found inspiration from a  cushion in Next. I go there often it is an easy walk from our house and they have a Costa. What's not to like?  Any way back to the cushion it had bees and a heart on it. I tried making a felted bee but I didn't like what I made so I bought some dies instead.

For the background I used the Honeycomb Haven embossing folder from Creative Expressions. It seemed appropriate. My backing paper was another inky kitchen roll creation.
I added the honeycomb die that came in the Dovecraft Bee Happy Premium Die Collection to the background.

The theme of this times challenge is Bugs. Even butterflies and dragonflies count. Click on the logo and you will be taken to the blog.

The heart die was one designed by Leonie Pujol for Crafter's Companion. The Bee Happy came from the Dovecraft set.

I think this bee die is fabulous and this what prompted me to buy the Dovecraft die set. All the other dies were a bonus.

My husband did like his card on Valentine's Day. In fact we have only just put it away.

Enjoy the rest of the week
