Thank You Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope that you had a good weekend. We had another really busy one. On Saturday we went to Ally Pally for the Craft show. Of course I bought some new stash and I met some of my online friends. On Sunday we went to Ascot Racecourse for a Cruise Show. This was followed by a trip to West Green House on our way back - you can use your National Trust membership card to get in. It was so nice to look round the garden and of course use the cafe.

Last week I made a special thank you card. It is always good to have some put by.

I used a selection of dies from the John Next Door range from Crafts-Too. The backing paper was cut with the lattice corner die from the Sandwich box die set.

This thank you die came free with a magazine some time ago. I used the Square Background Gerbera flowers frame die set to frame the sentiment. I did put a dark purple sentiment on top of a pale purple one but when I looked at the card the sentiment didn't show up enough so I put another pale one on top.

I cut some patterned paper with the Gerbera Flowers die. I just love how you can cut so many flowers so quickly.  Behind the flowers I placed the Star Flower leaves.

I also put butterflies on the design made with the Small Butterflies die set.

This one will go into my box until it is needed. I often get urgent requests for cards. It is good to be prepared.

Lattice and Gerbera Birthday card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We have another busy day today it is our 37th Wedding Anniversary. The plan is to head into Southampton to have coffee. Then we will visit the Da Vinci Exhibition in the Art Gallery. After that we will go to a small independent Italian restaurant for lunch. The final part of our plan is to attend the matinee performance of a Comedy About a Bank Robbery, it is written by the same team that had success with A Play that Goes Wrong. If it all works it should be a good day.

I have been playing with dies from the John Next Door range again. Here is a birthday card I made last week.

I do like going back to use my older dies to try and make the most of my stash. I created the background by cutting the corner lattice die, from the Sandwich Box die collection  straight into the patterned paper. I feel this gives a very neat finish.

The flowers were cut from patterned paper with the Gerbera flowers did I just love that you can cut so many flowers in one pass. The leaves are the Gerbera leaves.

I used the small butterfly dies to make the butterflies.

The Happy Birthday was added with a Crafter's Companion die. I do love it when the dot above the i is attached.

Not Just Cards Challenge blog - February Challenge

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend?  Our daughter and son-in-law came to dinner on Sunday. They are going to Washington DC soon and we are looking after their hamster. My shoulder is still hurting me and I am finding hard to sit at the computer for long spells. I will try to keep up with my comments.

As it is the 11th of the month the new challenge starts on the Not Just Cards Challenge blog. The theme is truly always Anything Goes.

I made this card at the request of a friend. The brief was that the card was intended for someone who loves their garden. In the background I used the corner dies from the Sandwich Box die set from John Next Door. I put this over some gingham patterned paper.

Our challenges are always Anything Goes if you click on the logo you will be taken there to join in.

This topper was ideal and came from a Hunkydory kit that came free with a magazine sometime ago. I cut a mat for the image with the Double Pierced Circle dies from Creative Expressions.

I added a 70 in the corner using a mixture so dies to complete it.

Around the image I placed leaves cut with the Star Flower leaves around the image  I added small Star Flowers and tiny Dragonflies all cut with dies from John Next Door.

The lady in question received this card some time ago and I know she was very pleased with it.

Hunkydory Poppy Mother's Day Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We really enjoyed the American Idiot musical we went to see on Friday. It really helped checking out the Green Day album before we went. Saturday was spent tidying and taking things to the tip. On Sunday we went to visit our parents. and helped both sets out with a few things.

At the moment I am not getting a lot of time to craft. So when I found a Hunkdory papercraft kit free with Papercraft Essentials magazine it was just what I needed. . One of the images and some of the papers featured poppies. My mother-in-law loves poppies.

The backing paper is so pretty with its poppy border. I cut the corner lattice die from the Sandwich Box die set from John Next Door in gold mirror card to add interest to the corner.

This the poppy topper from the kit. Now I did sick this down the wrong way round but I really don't think it makes too much difference. I added a small butterfly at the side.

This is a Signature die I cut it once in red and once in white. The white shadow helped the die to show up against the lattice.

With the same kit I made a very simple Mother's Day card for my Mum. It is very pretty I think she will like it.

I know my Mother-in-law will like this card. There are lots of pretty images and papers left in the kit so I will be using it to make some more cards.

Through the Craft Room Door (TTCRD) Guest Designer

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I am now into the thick of invigilating. This time the Year 10's are doing practice exams. It is nice to have a part time job.

Back last year I was a winner of one of the challenges at the Through the Craft Room Door (TTCRD) Challenge blog. As a result I was asked to be a Guest Designer for the challenge that starts today. I was very lucky and I was able  to work with a beautiful image from Morgan's Artworld who is sponsoring the challenge.

The backing card came from the back of my Advent Calendar. The card was embossed with the Heart Lattice Embossing folder from Creative Expressions. In the corner I added the Lattice die from the Sandwich Box die set from John Next Door.

The image I chose to work with was the Old Roses Frame.  The images are available to sell in Albums within a Facebook Group called Morgan's Artworld Digital Image Shop which you can reach HERE.

I created a background on the computer and I added a personalised  greeting at the same time. I coloured the image with Promarkers. I added some die cuts to enhance the design along with some lace.

This is a card I made for a commission I am sure the recipients have it now.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Floral Congratulations Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? Ours is going to get a whole lot better tomorrow we are off to Sorrento in Italy. We are hoping to visit Vesuvius and Pompeii.  It will be so good to be away for a short time and not at the other end of the constant phone calls. The care package for my parents  is in place and seems to be working. This seems like a good time to go.

I found I had a free afternoon this week so I decided to make a card. It took a while to come up with an idea. Here is what I made.

I think I might have need of a congratulations card soon so I thought I would make a pretty one. In the background I used the lattice die from the Sandwich Box set by John Next Door.

The flowers were cut with the Gerbera die set from John Next Door. I do love how you can cut so many flowers at the same time. I only used the smaller flowers on this card I still have the larger flowers to use on another project. The leaves were cut with the Star Flower leaves I wanted something more delicate than the Gerbera leaves.

This is a Tattered lace die one that I got when I was on their design team. It has been the die I have used the most of all of the ones I was sent.

There is it just waiting to be sent to someone. I will catch up with everything and everyone when I get back.

Anything but a Card - A Box

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend and are ready for the week ahead. This is a scheduled post we are on our way to Malta. Life has been so fraught I am looking forward to some time away.

Being Monday the new challenge starts at Always Fun Challenges and the theme is Anything But a Card. So I made a box. I am no longer on the design team but I thought I would share this anyway.

Recently it was my mother-in-laws birthday and she likes chocolate. We have taken to buying bars of chocolate for her they just needed a box to show them off. I had a sheet of A3 patterned card and it was just right for this box.

To decorate the top I used all dies from John Next Door.

Here is the chocolate in the box.

One final look at the box. That is all from me until next time.

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

This is the card I gave to our daughter for her birthday. I did end up making her two.

Beccy's Place - New Images Tangled Garden

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going. It has been very hot down here. I have been invigilating and it get very hot in the hall where the exams are done. I do feel sorry for them. Still only another week and they will all be over.

This post is a bit late I got mixed up over release dates of images. I published a post about the set of images that will be in the spot light later on so I had to save that back to drafts.  This time is the turn of the Tangled Garden set of images new from Beccy's Place. I made two cards with these images.

To make the background I used the corner dies from the John Next Door Sandwich box die set. I added some ribbon too.

I printed one of the single blooms several times some of them I flipped. They were coloured with Promakers and cut out with the ScanNcut.

This sentiment comes with the set.

There are many wonderful images in the store. Click on the logo to be taken there.

I created the background with Publisher. I also created a little window box below the image.

As the images are PNG's I was able to place the image onto the background. Then I coloured the flowers  with Promarkers.

Here are the two cards together.
