Scribble and Scrap Challenge 47 - Always Anything Goes

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I had a fantastic time at the workshop yesterday. I really enjoyed it, John Lockwood  is so talented. I must admit that I messed up two of the three projects but I am going to have a try at home to see if I can do better. I was talking too much I did meet some lovely people.

This is a rather sad post. Today see the start of the last challenge at the Scribble and Scrap Challenge Blog. I have enjoyed being on the Design Team I have met some wonderful people but now it is time to move on. There will still be a prize for this challenge so why not join in one last time. The theme is always "Anything Goes".

I made this 8" x 8" card for a commission. The brief I was given was to make it girly. As you know from yesterday's post my favourite colour is mauve so that is the colour I chose to use.  The background I made with a Sue Wilson Striplet die called Eternal Rings to which I added CS white pearl PVA glue. This I left to dry for a long time.

I made the the flower with Sue Wilson dies Delicate Daises complete and open petal. To the centre of each flower I added a punched flower and some more CS PVA glue. I also used the trailing ivy die.

The tag was from another Sue Wilson set Pierced Tags. The sentiment was cut with some Britannia Dies.

I had finished the card but I was not happy something was missing. Well I ended up  doing the classic thing and adding a butterfly again cut with another Sue Wilson die this one from the Magical Butterflies set. Do you get the impression that I have a lot of Sue Wilson dies. Yes I have.

I really was there and I did meet him.

I hope you have a wonderful Sunday. I am off to the Portsmouth Sincerely Yours Papercraft show. Not exactly a Father's Day treat we are going to the cinema after. Also we are dropping off the wedding invitations they are finished.

I would like to enter this card for Challenge 33 at the Butterfly Challenge Blog

Scribble and Scrap - Poppies

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a good weekend. We enjoyed the theatre yesterday we had a nice meal before hand. Today will be a quiet  those wedding invitations won't make themselves.

Today sees the start of a new challenge on the Scribble and Scrap Challenge blog the theme is always "Anything Goes" and there are prizes for the winners. This is my Design Team inspiration piece.

The main image was made with a Sweet Poppy stencil. The paper I used was in my stash I like the flourishes on the design. I went for a central panel and I edged it with a pre gathered lace.

I used the poppy stencil to create the image. First I used Distress ink to colour the poppies I like how the colours blend. I wiped all the ink off the stencil and then I applied a translucent paste. Once this had been done the stencil was removed and a fine glitter applied. This was left to dry overnight. I usually make a few in one session when I have all the bits out to play. My mother-in-law loves this image so I use it a lot.

The sentiment is a Kanban one that I had in my stash I thought it suited the design.

I have made this for my Mother-in-law it is her birthday soon.  I must get on with the wedding invitations. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday.

Scribble and Scrap Challenge 45 always "Anything Goes"

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Happy Sunday I hope you are enjoying the extended weekend, those of you who get an extended weekend. We are setting off to Amsterdam today for a few days. This means that I will be quiet on the blog and on Facebook. I feel like I need a bit of a rest.

This is my Design Team card for the Scribble and Scrap Challenge Blog. Today the winners are announced for the last challenge and the new challenge starts the theme is always "Anything Goes". There is a prize on offer so there are lots of good reasons to join in with the challenge.

I made this card for a special friend's 50th Birthday she is a big Sue Wilson fan. She has had her birthday now so it is safe to share her card. Her family arranged a surprise tea-party at their house for all her friends it was brilliant. I even drank Earl Grey Tea and I liked it.

This card  was  inspired by one  I saw on Sue Wilson's blog.  I liked the effect but  I had to think which of my dies could I use to make the design work. I do have quite a few Sue Wilson dies but nowhere near a full set. The black mat at the back was covered with a double sided sticky sheet and this was covered with CS Glitter Jewels Midnight Snow. I used a very strong glue to hold down the white mat.

Most of the dies I used are Sue Wilson dies only the flowers were made with Spellbinder dies.

I was very pleased with how this card turned out. As it has flowers on it I made a box for it otherwise the flowers would have been squashed.

I would like to enter this for the Crafting Musketeer's Challenge - Use a die cut as I have used so many. I also used some of my Snippets to make the flowers, the ivy and the banner I would like to enter Pixie's Snippets Playground - Week 178. I have spotted the challenge at the All Sorts Challenge blog it is their 6th Birthday  that is the theme so I thought I would enter.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the week. I am planning on taking lots of photos on our trip I might share some of them here.

A Wedding Card for P and K

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a fantastic weekend. We have been very busy, today finds us at the 16th annual  Beatles Day at the White  Rock theatre in Hastings. It is an event that raises money for the Macmillan Charity. There are lots of different acts performing Beatles songs all day long and ending, of course, with Hey Jude. It is a good day especially if you are a Beatles fan.

Today  also sees the start of Scribble and Scrap Challenge 42 the challenges are always anything goes and there is a prize. This is my Design Team piece for inspiration.

One of my work colleagues asked me if I would make some tags to attach to table decorations for her son's wedding at the end of the Easter holidays. I  agreed  and she collected them earlier this week. I decided to make a card for the happy couple using the colours from the tags I had been asked to make.

I have made a few cards with a similar design I like the combination of hearts and initials. They always turn our slightly differently.

I kept checking the details I had been give I was so worried about putting the wrong initials on the card.

If I get any good photos of Beatles Day I will post a few.

Don't forget to join in with the Scribble and Scrap Challenge you might win a prize.

New Home

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a good weekend. Of course it is Mother's Day but that isn't always easy for people for lots of different reasons. We are lucky our daughter is coming home for the day it will be lovely to see her.

I have a bit of news  - I am now on the Design Team for Scribble and Scrap Challenge Blog. For those of you that don't know, Lexie, who owns the blog, no longer runs a shop but she is continuing with a challenge blog. The challenge is always anything goes and this is my first project for them. Why not come and join us?

It is quite a simple New Home card and it measures just 6" x 6". I used lots of papers from my stash in fact they came from my very own Snippets Store.

This is a LOTV topper. I cut it to the size I wanted and I inked through the die to add some extra colour.

I cut this pot plant with a Spellbinder die set. I was going to make the flowers purple but then I noticed the red in the topper so the flowers are red.

There it is my first card for the Scribble and Scrap challenge blog the first of many I  hope. I would also like to enter it for Pixie's Snippets Playground - 168 as I have used so many snippets to make it.

I hope you have a good week.
