My Special Cards from 2020

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? There is something special about today for us. We are allowed out again we can go for walks  and do our food shopping. The self-isolation ended at midnight last night. It has been very strange not to be able to go out for walks.

I usually do some sort of round up at the end of the year. I do like to look through my cards and see what I have made.

January 2020

Here is one of the thank you cards I made. The original post is HERE

February 2020

In February I went to the Farnborough Craft Show. We stayed overnight and then I did a workshop with John Next Door and my hubby visited his  parents while I was there. I am so glad we did those things. There was really no clue what was coming. These are the cards I made at the workshop.

March 2020

This is the card I made for our friends once we had gone into lockdown. The original post for this card is HERE.

April 2020

Who could forget Captain Tom Moore and all the money he raised for the NHS. This is the birthday card that I sent along with many other people. The original post for this card is HERE.

May 2020

Here is a Get Well card I made with an image from Bugaboo stamps. I started following Barbara Gray's Shac Shack in March and I learnt to colour with pencils. The original post for this card is HERE

June 2020

Here is the Father's Day card that I made for my hubby. I had also joined the Claritystamp Fresh Cut dies Club. I used one of the dies to make this card. The original post for this card is HERE.

July 2020

This is the waterfall card I made for my father-in-law's 96th birthday. He likes a nautical themed card and if there is a bit of movement that is good too. The original post for this card is HERE.

August 2020

In August I was invited to sell some of my cards at a Hampshire Open Studios event. It was held in my friend's garden and house. All precautions were taken. I did sell quite a few cards. This one is made with a Claritystamps Fresh Cut die. The original post for this card is HERE.

September 2020

In September we went to a wedding. It as a lovely day. It was such a privilege to be there with only 30 guests allowed. Our daughter drew the image and the roses frame. I added lots of dies from the John Next Door range. This was the first of some collaborations between me and our daughter. I don't think I ever blogged this card.

October 2020

On 23rd October 2020 our daughter and son-in-law moved to their new home. I drew this image for them. I is based on one of the doodles from Barbara Gray's Shac Shack. I missed a trick as I should have drawn their house which I did for their Christmas card. This is the blog post where this card is featured.

November 2020

On the very last day of November my husband retired. He had been working at home since March. Then in June his job changed and he became unhappy. The chance of voluntary severance came up he applied and got it. This is the card I made for him. The original post for this card is HERE.

Also in November I was asked to be a Guest Angel for the John Next Door design team. I was sent the Shutter card die set to use. This is one of the cards I made. I have a little secret and I am sure not many people will read this far. I am now a permanent John Next Door Angel. I already have my next set of dies to use. The original post this card was in is HERE.

December 2020

Here is my own doodle used for a Christmas card. I do so love doodling. I have learnt so much from Barbara Gray. This is one of the really positive things that has come out of 2020 for me. The year everything change, when we could no longer take things for granted. The original post for this card is HERE.

Wishing you a Happy 2021

Who knows what will be ahead of us this year?

House Number Frame and a New Home Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? I have done a little invigilating. I did more that I expected. We actually invigilated a proper external exam on Wednesday. The rest of the time was spent supervising pupils catching up on the Mock exams they had missed in the previous two weeks. It is so nice that I have a day off today. I am looking forward to the joining in with the  Shac Shack and to doing some crafting.

Our daughter and son-in-law moved last month. When they had their first house I made them a frame with their house number in it. Before they moved this time I was given the frame back and asked to make a new number. They wanted to keep the old number in the frame behind the new number. I thought this was a lovely idea.

Sorry for the glare on the glass. In the background is some of the paper that I used to make flowers  for their wedding. There is a hill opposite their house with a wood on the brow of the hill. They have seen deer over there as well. I used a John Next Door die to create that part of the scene. You know they have three bunnies that we looked after. The dog is a wish they would like to have a dog. The numbers were cut with a selection of dies in my stash.

Here is the New Home Card I made for them. This doodle is based on one of the doodles we did in Barbara Gray's Shac Shack. I missed a trick I should have drawn the actual house. This one isn't far off I have had another go for their Christmas Card. I do so love doodling. I would also like to buy them a wooden bird table for their garden. There are just so many birds round where they live now.

Have a good weekend.

A New Home Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend. I do feel for the people who are back in lockdown. I wonder when we will be free of this awful virus. Our daughter and son-in-law move at the end of the week. Hopefully we will be able to help them unless something changes of course. Then it will be nearly time for the bunnies to go home. 😊

When I sold some of my cards in the summer all my new home cards were sold. I made this one to replace them. This is not the card I am giving to our daughter and son-in-law it is just one for my stash of cards.

The background is made with Washi tape. I found this tape at a Garden centre last year it is a large roll it will last a long time. It is ideal for new home cards.

The Heart dies I used are from the John Next Door range. The little house die set came free with a magazine sometime ago.

The sentiment was made with a Britannia die set.

Now I had a card in my stash for when I am asked for one.

Have a good week.

Not Just Cards Challenge Blog - April Challenge - Anything Goes - New Home Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you getting on? We are fine. My hubby is now on leave. It has been strange today. We are still shopping for two older couples and I am checking up on an older lady who lives on her own. That is a well as trying to sort out the shopping for my parents. It is so hard to get those shopping slots.

The April challenge starts today at the Not Just Cards Challenge blog the theme is always Anything Goes. I made a card that I won't be needing for a while.

I do like to have New Home cards in my stash. In fact our Daughter and Son-in-Law are thinking of moving and were looking into this before the Corona Virus caught up with us all.  When I was shopping with a friend (remember when we used to be able to do that) and I spotted and had to have a huge roll of washi tape with houses on it. That is what I used to create the background for this card.

Why not join in with our fun easy challenge. If you click on the logo you will taken there.

I used the Heart of Hearts die set from Creative Expressions to make the big heart and its mat. The house die set came free with a magazine a while ago. The sentiment was cut with some Britannia dies.

Well I did enjoy making this card and making a start on the huge roll of washi tape.

On a personal note last year for my birthday I received a journalling bible. Well I hadn't touched the bible since I was given it. I did say that I have been following the doodling sessions run by Barbara Gray on Facebook. I have a lovely skill set of drawing skills that I can call on and  I used them to start my journal. I am going to start a page on my blog with my sketches. This really is something I never thought I would do.

A New Home Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? I hope you have something nice planned for the weekend. We are spending Saturday with our son-in-law's parents. They  have bought us tickets to see a show at the theatre in Newbury. During the day we are all going to the Newbury County Show. It should be a good day. If you are wondering where our daughter and son-in-law will be, well they are on holiday in New York. They come back on Sunday.

Some time back our daughter asked me to make a New Home for one of her work colleagues. I didn't have much time to make the card. So I turned to my Hunkydory Book of images and I found a brilliant one.

I had some paper left over from a Hunkydory paper pad which nicely matched the green in the image.

This was such a great image to use.

These charms came from The Works I just couldn't resist them.

I was pleased with how this card came together.

Have a great weekend

Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) Challenge - theme Have a Heart

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I have had a poorly husband who has been off work for a bit. On Tuesday we visited the hospital so he could have a chest x-ray to check things out. He is now working from home but the cough still persists. I was hoping to go to the Newbury Craft show on Saturday we will just have to see if my hubby is up to going.

The new challenge starts at the Moving Along with the Times Challenge blog and Donna for team B has chosen the theme Have a Heart. So we would like to see a heart or hearts in your creation.

I made a new home card.

For the sky I used some rescued inky paper towel which I had glued onto card. The clouds were cut with some Crafter's Companion dies. The green hills were cut with the Snow Scenes dies from John Next Door.

Why not join in with our challenge. Valentine's Day isn't far away. Click on the logo and you will be to the challenge blog.

The heart was cut with the outer dies from the Heart of Hearts die set by Creative Expressions. The house and tiny heart dies came free with a magazine and have proved to be very useful.

I think these word dies are from Britannia. The daisies were made with the small Star Flower dies from John Next Door.

I added some small butterflies made with the Small Butterfly dies from John Next Door.

I wanted the card to have a summery feel. Even though I sent the card in December.

Enjoy the rest of the week

New Home Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I am off to help at a wet felting workshop today. I am hoping to make a purse. I did try once before and it wasn't successful but I am up for another try.

I think I said a while back that I needed to make another new home card. Well last week I actually got round to making the one I needed.

I found a scrap of the backing paper in my stash and it just fitted the card blank. I cut an aperture with one of the Double Pierced Circle dies from Creative Expressions.

The house die came free with an issue of Simply Cards and Papercraft. I love adding a red door and it opens. I cut thin strips of patterned paper to make the curtains and put yellow behind to look like lights. The hearts come with the house die. The column of smoke came from another die. I made the background paper with ink on shiny paper. The grass is a strip of pixie powder coloured paper.

Word dies are so useful.

The people I made this card for have already moved so I will be giving it to them soon.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Not Just Cards Challenge blog - September Challenge

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I got a bit confused and I didn't expect to be back so soon. The new challenge starts today  on the Not Just Cards Challenge blog and the theme is as always Anything Goes.

A few people we know have moved house recently and the free gift that came with Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine a few months ago was has been very useful.

I used a stencil and Distress Oxides to create the background.

Why not join our challenge? They are always Anything Goes. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

The aperture and frame were cut with the Double Pierced circle dies by Creative Expressions. I used Pebeo gilding wax to add some interest to the frame. The house was cut with the dies that came free with the magazine. The background in the circle is one I created with ink and surgical spirit on shiny card.

I added gilding wax to the sentiment.

This was the first new home card that was sent out. In fact I should really make another one soon.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Isobel Craft Collection - New Stamps - Gnomes

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? We have had some lovely warm weather down here in the south. I am in the process of applying for another job, something which I haven't done for 20 years, oh boy did my CV need updating.

The Isobel Craft Collection is releasing two new sets of stamps Gnomes and Ladybirds. I enjoyed making some cards to show off these new  Gnome stamps.

This is the first card I made with the stamps. I made the background with Distress ink on water colour card. This way I would use water to remove some of the colour.

The stamps are available to pre-order at The Isobel Craft Collection Facebook page

They are very cute these stamps and lots of fun.

I used masks so I could layer the images of the stamps. I coloured them with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.

This little chap is so cute.

I love the sentiment that comes in the set.

I was asked to create a Gnome trail of images of the little guys in different places. This is a root that has been dug up in our garden.

This is such a cute card. I can't wait to send it to someone.

Enjoy the rest of the day.

Happy Crafting
