Delightful Digi's Baby Blue Teddy Bear

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How has your week been so far? Yesterday I was on a school trip to our local hands on science centre. It is an amazing place to go and nowhere does it say "don't touch". I do always get very tired after a trip,  a nice cup of tea usually sorts it out.

This is my latest card for  Delightful Digi's using the O-Sew- Sweet collection.

Click on the logo to visit the blog to buy the images you see.

I printed the image twice. I kept one as a background and coloured Ted with Promarkers and the cushion with some Spectrum Noir pencils. Then I coloured the feet and the head on another image and cut them out and I used some gel glue to hold them away from the main image. The heart I cut out and covered with Flower Soft to give it some texture.

I think this would make a nice card for a birth announcement that is why I choose the sentiment "With Love" also available from Delightful Digi's

I hope the rest of the week is kind to you.

Scribble and Scrap - Poppies

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a good weekend. We enjoyed the theatre yesterday we had a nice meal before hand. Today will be a quiet  those wedding invitations won't make themselves.

Today sees the start of a new challenge on the Scribble and Scrap Challenge blog the theme is always "Anything Goes" and there are prizes for the winners. This is my Design Team inspiration piece.

The main image was made with a Sweet Poppy stencil. The paper I used was in my stash I like the flourishes on the design. I went for a central panel and I edged it with a pre gathered lace.

I used the poppy stencil to create the image. First I used Distress ink to colour the poppies I like how the colours blend. I wiped all the ink off the stencil and then I applied a translucent paste. Once this had been done the stencil was removed and a fine glitter applied. This was left to dry overnight. I usually make a few in one session when I have all the bits out to play. My mother-in-law loves this image so I use it a lot.

The sentiment is a Kanban one that I had in my stash I thought it suited the design.

I have made this for my Mother-in-law it is her birthday soon.  I must get on with the wedding invitations. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday.

Fantasy Stampers - Fathers' Day

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Hi it is the weekend and I wonder what your plans might be? We are off to the theatre this afternoon, with my daughter and her boyfriend, to see The Importance of Being Earnest with David Sutchet in the lead role.

This is my inspiration card for the Fantasy Stampers Challenge Blog this time the theme is Father's Day. The challenge is open to everyone you need to follow the theme and use some stamps.

It is an 8" x 8" card. All the stamps I used are by Creative Expressions and designed by Sam Poole. The background was made with an A6 netting background stamp. I stamped it in my hand with CS Perfect Medium and then it was heat embossed with a white powder. Then I inked over the page with two shades of blue distress ink.

The Happy Father's day stamp came in the Ship-in-a-bottle stamp set.

The anchor came from the middle of the Nautical Words stamp.

The lighthouse stamp set contains the lighthouse and the inspirational words.

I was rather pleased that this card was featured on the Readers Cards page on the June issue of Making Cards Magazine.

Here is a slightly closer shot of the page. It is nice to see your card in print all nicely photographed.

I hope you enjoy your weekend. I will be back tomorrow with another post.

Fishing for a Happy Birthday

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How has your week been so far? I went back to work on Monday and that evening when I got in I had the most  awful headache it was so bad I couldn't do anything so I have got a bit behind with my crafting and commenting.

On Tuesday I felt better and I made this card for a friend's birthday. He likes fishing so it has a fishing theme.

I have had this Forever Friends image for a while now it is so nice to know someone who will appreciate it. I started by making the background I stamped a variety of stamps with Perfect Medium and they were then heat embossed with a metallic green powder. Finally I inked over the page with two shades of blue distress ink.

I have a memory box die set that comes with a tree, two owls and some leaves they are fun to use.

Here is the cute little bear who looks rather like he might go to sleep.

At the moment this is my favourite Happy Birthday stamp it fits so well into my Spellbinder matting and basics dies making the mats easy to make.

I hope my friend likes the little scene I have created.

I would like to enter the challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz this week the theme is "Birds".
I would also like to join in with Pixie's Snippets Playground weeks 178 and 179.

I hope the rest of the week is kind to you.

Classic Rose and some news

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Here we at the start of a new week. I have really enjoyed my  half term but it back to reality now.

Now for my  lovely crafty news. I am thrilled to say that I have asked to join the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog Design team. This is my first card for them. Sometimes I will have digi stamps to use but this time the theme was "Anything Goes".

This 7" x 7" card started with the stamped image which is the Classic Rose by Heartfelt Creations. The other papers I used were in my stash and yes there are buttons on this card too.

I stamped the image with Black Archival and then I heat embossed it with a clear powder. I put some Distress ink on my craft mat and added some water and I applied the ink to the image with a delicate water colour brush. I mounted the image onto a thin black mat.

I used a Sue Wilson  die to cut out the tag. I cut it twice once in pink and once in white I trimmed the white one so that there was a pink border. The sentiment was cut with a Tattered Lace die. The ribbon is from Creative Expressions and is the  Sheer Wrinkled Edge Ribbon in Dusky Pink

This is the result of a mistake I made when I was stamping. I stamped with black archival but then I heat embossed with a white powder ( all the little pots look very similar). I don't really like wasting anything so I coloured it with distress ink and I used it on the inside of the card like a watermark.

I hope that you have a good week and have time to join in the challenge at Crafts Galore Encore.

Delightful Digi's - Beautiful Flowers

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend in spite of the weather (which has just cheered up here). Yesterday we went to London to visit the Aquarium this is where our daughter had chosen to go to celebrate her birthday. We had a lovely meal in Carluccios and then we went round the Aquarium again. We were all so tired when we came home but very happy it was a good day.

Click here to go to the Delightful Digi's Blog
As you know I am now on the Delightful Digi's Design Team and I set myself a little challenge. My Design Team commitments require me to make two projects a month.  I started late in this month but I actually wanted to make two  projects so here is my second this time a card posted just in time for the end of the month.

I used images, backgrounds and sentiments from the O-Sew-Sweet collection at Delightful Digi's.

The main image is called Pansies I coloured it with my Promarkers I really enjoyed colouring the image.

The sentiment was also from the O-Sew- Sweet collection  again coloured with Promarkers and mounted onto a Spellbinder die cut.

I coloured the central flower from another copy of the Pansies image and I coloured to match the main image I also coloured  some leaves they were cut out by hand.

Here are a few pictures from our day out yesterday.

We saw lots of fish.

The jellyfish were very pretty.

This is my daughter and her boyfriend they have just bought themselves a nice camera and they were taking it in turns to use it.

Here is a reminder of my card. The flowery border was cut with a Martha Stewart punch.

There is a Delightful Digi's Facebook group where you can see the makes by the Design Team and post your own makes which we would love to see.

I would like to join in with the challenge at Challenge Up Your Life.

Have a great week. It is back to work for me half term is over.

Delightful Digi's Field Mouse Journal Cover

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? It is nearly the weekend. We have a trip to the theatre tonight and a trip to London tomorrow to celebrate our daughter's birthday. So we are going to be busy. I do hope the weather is kind.

You might have noticed the new sparkly Design Team badge at the side of my blog. Yesterday it was announced that  I am now a member of the Delightful Digi's Design Team and today I am sharing my first make using one of their images and a backing paper. There is a blog where you can buy the images that you see just click on the picture below.

Everyday I write a diary, I have been doing it for years and years. I decided to buy a journal with a blank cover to decorate myself as decorated journal are expensive to buy.  Well it has been sat on my craft desk for ages waiting. Today was the day that it got decorated.

It is an A5 journal with a craft card cover. I used the Delightful Digi's Green Quilt from the O- Sew-Sweet Collection for the background. The green of the quilt matched the green of the matting layers I had used. The way the journal opens meant that I couldn't cover the strip at the side, rather than leaving it plain I decided to put a length of lace there.

For the main image I used the super cute  Field Mouse also from the O-Sew-Sweet Collection. He was coloured with Promarkers I must say he was lovely to colour quite therapeutic . I added buttons again as they went with the sewing/stitching theme. I might really be cured now. Though phobias are never rational it might be because the buttons I am using are new that I can cope.

I cut the sentiment with a Spellbinders die.

This was cut with another Spellbinder die.

I am rather pleased with the end result and I will enjoy filling it in. I will certainly be on the lookout for more blank journals to cover.

I forgot to mention that there is also a  Delightful Digi's Facebook Group that you can join to see what the design team have made and share makes of your own. Don't forget to visit the blog there are some beautiful images there.

I hope you all have a brilliant weekend. I am hoping to do some crafting on Sunday. I do need to finish the wedding invitations.

Happy Crafting
