How is your week going? Tomorrow I start back on my weekly trips to Winchester. There is a lovely shop there called C&H fabrics. There is a coffee shop and a craft department. I am looking forward to visiting both again.
I have been having a bit of a think about my blog. I have had an unofficial schedule that I have been working to. The consequence is that I have made too many cards over time. Last year I was given the opportunity to donate cards that I didn't think I would use to a coffee morning raising money for a charity. This meant that I had a good clear out. The long and the short of it is that I will be only posting when I have something worth sharing. I am still on some design teams and I will still be entering competitions. I will also continue to visit all my crafty friends blogs. I will be around.
One of my friends who goes to a craft class gave me a lovely handmade card. I liked the design so much I decided to have a go at it myself. It is a great way to use up all sorts of snippets of which I have many.
It is a very simple design and the cards I made are A6 in size. I used my guillotine to cut the strips of paper. All those bits of paper I had been saving could be used. I cut a piece of white card and covered it with the strips this way it could be neatly trimmed. I started with the centre strip and worked out from there. This design is so easy to adapt to any size.
The sentiment is the one I used a lot last year from the John Next Door range. The two mats were cut with two Sue Wilson dies that came from the centre of a larger die.
I had so many snippets I made 10 cards. Last year I made a few mistakes with my Christmas cards. Firstly I was making them right up to the last minute I hadn't made enough. Secondly I made too many big cards that needed large letter stamps. These cards are flat and small. I might make some more as I have lots more snippets to use.
Enjoy the rest of the week.
I would like to enter the following challenges:
Happy Crafting

What a great way to use your paper cuts, brilliant designs Jackie and gorgeous cards x
This is lovely, Jackie and a fabulous way to use up those leftover strips of paper.
I tend only to blog when I have something to show, but sometimes I feel that some sort of schedule would help me as I'm basically lazy!
Congratulations on using up your leftovers. The cards are super xx
These look fabulous, Jackie! Did you coat the card base with sticky adhesive, and then lay the strips across, or did you adhere each strip of pattern paper individually on each piece of card? They look marvelous, and I want to make some like this, too! hugs, de
Hi Jackie,
Oh how I love these wonderful designs they look stunning and to think they use up lots of Snippets is a bonus.
Love all the different colours too.
Sadly I have no Snippets at the mo as all had to be thrown away with the refurbishment in the bungalow.
I'm sure it won't take me long to start again though.
Going to have a go at this too.
Lots of crafty love and hugs. Jenny L.
These look fabulous Jackie, great idea too.

Brilliant design for using up all those scraps we hold onto. I had a similiar postal problem this year. I made smaller cards to try and keep costs down but I didn't take into account the depth of the cards so I was stung for large letter postage.
I struggle keeping up with my blog and with what to do with all my cards so I understand your decision.

A great way of using snippets
I totally understand why you’re changing things I had the same problem when I was blogging (I can’t believe how long ago that was) and didn’t have a charity to be able to donate to
I’ll still pop in and see what’s occurring as you inspire me xx
Great idea Jackie, love what you have created with your snippets x
Brilliant idea Jackie.by co-incidence yesterday I made a birthday card like this. I have been sorting all my Christmas papers out so perhaps I should do the same. I die cut too many bits before Christmas so before they get put away I want to finish these Christmas cards. Will then have a head start for next Christmas.
Fab collection of cards Jackie. It's great to find an use for bits.

Love the design and great way of using up scraps Jackie! Glad to hear you have decided on a blog balance. Shabneez x
What a great idea for using up all those scraps we save and wonder what to do with. I'll probably be borrowing this idea too. You have got off to a good start for Christmas too. Like you I used to post continually and ended up with masses of cards that I never used, although I also used to give a lot to my sister for her personal use. Sadly that is no longer an option. Now I only post my DT cards and when I have made something for a reason. Take care. Christine xx
Fabulous collection of cards, Jackie. What a great way of using up snippets. xx
