Quick Thank You card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? I am trying to get things sorted before we go away next week there are lots of Design Team bits and pieces I need to catch up with. I just don't know where the time goes.

I had a slight blogging disaster today. A post I had been working on for Friday somehow was published this morning. Some lovely people even left comments but I have had to put it back to Drafts. Blogger was being a bit off last night it must have happened then.

Our ex-brother-in-law sent us some Dr Who DVDs as he knew that we are big fans. He isn't having a very easy time at the moment so we decided to get him a Costa gift card so he could have a few drinks out. Now being me I just had to make a card to go with it.

This card didn't take long to make. I used lots of bits that were left over from other cards. The main dies I used are from the French Collection by Creative Expressions.

This thank was cut from an old card using the Double Pierced Rectangle dies also by Creative Expressions.

I think this makes quite an effective card for a man. Inside I created a pocket to put the gift card. I hope he like it.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Happy Crafting

Moving Along With the Times (MAWTT) theme Wedding, Anniversary Engagement

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? We were very successful with our fridge and freezer shopping and they are arriving later today. It is good to have that sorted out. We have been able to have a sort out in the kitchen as well.

The new challenge starts on the Moving Along with the Times challenge blog and the theme is Wedding, Anniversary or Engagement all about happy couples really.

It is too soon for me to share the wedding card I have made for our daughter and her fiance. I am sharing an anniversary card I made for some good friends.

I made a wedding card earlier in the year with a very similar design. I used the corner die from the French collection designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.

I cut this frame with the Innsbruck die set from the Austrian collection by Sue Wilson. The sentiment was cut with a Signature die.

Enjoy the rest of the week. I will let you know how we get on with the fridge and the freezer.

Unicorn Challenge Blog - Petal Power

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope the week has started well for you. Yesterday was actually our 35th Wedding Anniversary. We have certainly come a long way together. My husband took the afternoon off and we had a lovely meal and we did a lot of shopping. It was all a bit low key but with a wedding to pay for it couldn't be any other way.

Being the first Tuesday of the month the new challenge starts today on the Unicorn Challenge blog the theme is Petal Power.

I treated myself to some new dies but I do like to keep using my older dies.  I used the border die from the French Collection designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.

The Easter basket die cuts out nicely and it is easy to make a mat to go behind it with the dies provided. I have not used the set to make the 3D basket yet. The flowers were made with a Martha Stewart punch. I used the Olive branch dies to create the foliage.

The Happy Easter die comes with the Basket set.

This is my last Easter card. I have enough now.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Happy Crafting

Elegant Wedding Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

It is the last day of the half term holiday just the weekend to go now. We are heading off to Bristol later this morning.  We will be staying in the hotel we will be using for the wedding so that we can check things out. On Saturday we will be visiting the company who we are hiring the chairs from. It is going to be busy.

One of the ladies at work is getting married soon. It is only going to be a small affair but I wanted to make her a card. She showed me a picture of her dress and I used the colours as inspiration for this card.

I took an 8" x 8" card blank and trimmed it down to 7" x 7". I found two sheets of the pink card in my stash for the mats and layers. The paper came from a pad by Wild Rose Studios I am using these papers for our daughter's wedding. For the background detail I used the corner die from the French Collection Border Corner Tag die set by Creative Expressions.

I cut the sentiment with the Expressions Ornate Oval On Your Special Day die set from Creative Expressions. I do cut these sorts of details from centre of the mats below to save card.

I used a piece of matching paper and a Deep Punch around the page punch set to create the border. I added a plan square that I inked around the edge so I can write a message.

I hope she likes this card. I isn't long till her wedding now they have only been planning it for a few weeks.

Rose themed Engagement Card

Hi Bloggers

I have had a few bits to make recently this one is an Engagement card for the lady who is leaving our church to study for a PhD in Oxford. Well she got engaged this summer as well so this time next year she might well be married that's if everything goes according to plan. I would like to make a card for that too.

This card  was made almost exclusively with Sue Wilson dies (they are nice to work with). The back ground was made using the Rose background die from the Italian collection.
I cut it once in white and once in purple and offset the purple behind the white to create a shadow. I used a pale patterned paper behind the background so there was a contrast with the die.

I made the ribbon flower following a tutorial on Sue Wilson's blog. This is my second attempt my first was too tight and the flower didn't look right. I inked the ribbon before I rolled it up. I did cut two sets of leaves one in purple and one in green. I put the green ones over the purple ones to echo what I had done with the background.

This is the box I made for the card, the flower made it too thick for an envelope. Again I used  Sue Wilson dies this time from the French collection there is also  a matching stamp. I do have a thing about roses and I am starting to collect lots of crafting bits which have roses on them.

Thank you again for stopping by and for any comments you may leave.

Have a great week.

Happy Crafting.
