John Next Door Christmas Stamps with Matching Dies

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? We had a quiet time at home. Being retired we do try to get out and about during the week and stay home catching up on things at the weekend. Of course the weekend it is a good time to see our daughter and son-in-law.

Here are my makes for the One Day Special on the Craft Store. I used the Snowfall and Deerland stamp and die duos. There are lots of pictures in this post.

Using the Snowfall die and stamp duo.

Using the Deerland dies from the die and stamp duo with the Alphabet stencil dies.

I just love the stag's head and the snowflakes.

More snowflakes. I did do some foiling with my Kaleido.

Can you see the snowflakes in this one? The stags are magnificent.

They are lovely stamps and dies to work with. Having the added option to foil the stamps is a real treat.

Here are all the cards together. I really didn't get long to make these. I thought I had until 10th August. In the end they were needed on 24th July. That's one reason why the cards aren't very inventive.

Beccy's Place - Jolly Holiday

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We have had a busy few days. All our cards are now written and in the post. We just have the local hand deliveries to do. Our house is actually decorated. Things are starting to look Christmassy. On Tuesday we had our flu jabs. Luckily it didn't hurt.

Here are the cards that I made for the new release of Jolly Holiday images from Beccy's Place. Today my cards are being showcased on Beccy's Blog

For this card I coloured the stocking with my Faber Castell Polychromo colouring pencils. I created a pattern that looked a bit tartan so I chose a tartan paper to go with it. I added poinsettias made with dies from the John Next Door range.

Click on the logo and it will take you to the store.

Here is my second card. This time I chose to use the Red Cardinal in the stocking. Again I coloured with my Polychromo pencils. This time I used a gel pen to add snow.

Don't forget to check out Beccy's Blog.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Winter Wonderland Challenge blog - Theme Penguins - Sponsor Twinkle Lane Designs

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? Yesterday I helped at a Felting Workshop and I am helping at another one today. It is all very well organised there were less than 6 of us and we were all spaced out. I had a visor to wear too. Life is getting a bit busier all round.

The new challenge has started at the Winter Wonderland Challenge blog. The theme is Penguins and the sponsor is Twinkle Lane Designs

The tartan paper was actually a card blank which I cut down to make a mat. After I had coloured the image I thought the colours went together well.
There are lots of wonderful images in the store. If you click on the logo you will be taken there.

This image is called Snow Penguin and it is available HERE. I printed onto Neenah card stock and I coloured the image with my Faber Castell Polychromo colouring pencils.  I used the Double Pierced Rectangle dies from Creative Expressions to cut the image and it's mats.

This sentiment comes with the image. I used the Double Pierced Circle dies from Creative Expressions to cut it out.

I hope you have time to join in with our challenge.

Crafts Galore Encore - August Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We are still hospital visiting. My mother-in-law went back into hospital. Last time they let her out too soon.  Both of my in-laws are in their 90s I think there are going to have to be some changes to their living arrangements. This is my first blog post today. The second will follow soon.

Today is busy in blog land being the first of the month. The new challenge starts at the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog our theme is Anything Goes.  The fabulous sponsor is Fred She Said.

I fell in love with this digi set as soon as I saw it. I matched it with some tartan paper and some tartan ribbon,

There are many wonderful and varied images in the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

This cute little Westie comes in the Winter Westie digital stamp set that is available HERE.  I made a background on the computer I placed the PNG image on top and he was coloured with Promarkers.  I cut the image and the mats with some Tattered Lace oval dies. I just had to add a ribbon.

This is a Crafter's Companion die set.

Then I made a matching gift bag. Here is my tutorial to make the Gift Bag.

Here they are together.  Can you see how the dogs face each other. It is so easy to flip a digi image.
I did make some Christmas cards with these images I will sharing them later.

Winter Wonderland Challenge blog - What you love to do at Christmas?

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you are all well and have had a great week. I have been invigilating at the local secondary school for the Mock exams. Today I will be working all day with hardly any breaks. I can't remember the last time I worked all day. We are having fish and chips for tea as I have feeling I am going to be tired.

Today the new challenge starts on the Winter Wonderland Challenge blog, the sponsor this time is Kinda Cute and the theme is What you love to do at Christmas? Guess what I love drinking coffee all year round and not just at Christmas. But at Christmas there are lots of lovely flavours to try.

The backing papers were off cuts I found in my stash. I cut the image square and mounted it on black. Then I found two circles that were left over from my Hunkydory craft kit. They looked good when placed over the image. Then I cut and mounted an image where the colouring had gone wrong. I place it underneath to make a star shape.

There are many wonderful images in the store click on the logo and you will be taken there.

The image I used is called Bear with Cup and it is available HERE.  I used one of my photos to make a background in Publisher I added the snow at the bottom and the sentiment. The image I used was a PNG which meat it went nicely onto the background for me to colour. I flipped the image so the two are slightly facing each other. I printed onto Neenah card and I coloured the bears with my Promarkers.

I haven't done a lot of colouring lately. I really need to do a bit more practice.

Quilted Deer Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I had a very full day yesterday. My good friend took me to Winchester. We had lunch at the cathedral cafe and we mooched around the shops. I even managed to get a few Christmas presents.

I have been making Christmas cards again. I am still playing catch up with these. The rest of this week is quite quiet for me so I am hoping to make some progress.

I chose the image I wanted to use and them I made an aperture with the Double Pierced Circle dies from Creative Expressions. The tartan packing paper was in my stash.

This image is called Quilted Deer and he is freebie on the Beccy's Place blog. I have used the pre-coloured version. There is no way that I could add patterns like that. The sentiment was cut with a Tattered Lace die.

This was quite a quick make. I will probably use this image again it is so cute.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Christmas Reindeer - Christmas Card 17

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How has your week been so far? Unfortunately for me the weekend caught up with me and I ended up with a migraine yesterday. I had so much I wanted to do but  I didn't get much of it done. I expect a lot of your know how this feels.

I am sharing a simple Christmas card I made last week. I have been trying to get ahead with my Design Team makes as well as making things to show our daughter for the wedding. I am very aware that I don't have many Christmas cards made. So at the end of one of my crafty sessions I made this quick card using an image from an old card. I will be doing this a lot this year I have a big stash of old cards some people pass them on to me.

I looked all through my craft stash to find a tartan paper to match the bow on the reindeer, this is the closest I could find.

I love this die by Sue Wilson it makes a contemporary sentiment.

When we received this card last year I knew I would want to use him to make another card.

I am hoping to get some more Christmas cards this week. I hope the rest of the week goes well for you.

Scottish themed Wedding Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a good week so far. Unfortunately I have started my first cold of the School Year. It will probably be the first of many. I don't feel too bad and most  important of all I can still craft.

The card I am sharing with you today was made for the couple that I made some wedding invitations for earlier this year. They are getting married in Scotland so there is a strong Scottish theme to the card.

I made an 8" x 8" card blank from a sheet of A3 pearlised white card. As I do with most of my cards I made the insert first. This means once the card is finished it is completely finished I don't like going back to do the inserts once I am done.
All the mats and layers are the same colours as were used in the invitations. I cut a lattice with my ScanNcut and I found a tartan paper in my Christmas stash.

Here is the style of invitation I made for the happy couple.

The thistles were cut with a Tattered lace die. I cut it one in green and then the tips in blue and stuck them to the green.

The center section was cut with a whole selection of Sue Wilson dies. The outer detail was cut with the Innsbruck die from the Austrian collection. For the center I used a mixture of dies from Expression Dies Ornate ovals Special Day and Just for you sets. I also used a mix of colours from the invitations.

I will posting this card tomorrow I would like them to get it before the wedding.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the week.

Happy Crafting
