Fantasy Stampers - Winter Wonderland

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

It is the weekend. There always seems to be so much to do. We are visiting my parents to try to sort out a new computer for them and my husband's parents to sort out a new television. In the evening we are going to our local theatre (it is local it is 15 minutes walk away) to see the comedian Sean Hughes.

Happily, today  sees the start of a new Challenge on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge Blog and the theme is Winter Wonderland.

I made an easel card using the stamps that I used for the last challenge. They are among my favourite stamps being very versatile. They are called  Dasher the Deer and Christmas Trees by Creative Expressions. I also used the Visible Image Snowflake from Dreaming of a White Christmas set to make the background.  The die cut trees were covered in glitter too.

I cut the Sue Wilson snowflake tag twice and stuck them togther for extra strength to create the stopper for the easel. I stamped the sentiment and when it was dry I used a spray glue and applied a fine glitter.

I hope that you have a wonderful weekend.

The winners of the last challenge will be posted on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge blog tomorrow.

Creative Artiste - Traditional Christmas Colours

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Well we have got to Friday and the weekend is nearly here. We are planning on visiting both sets of parents one set needs a new computer and the other needs a new television.

Firstly, today sees the start of a new challenge on the Creative Artiste Challenge blog and the theme is traditional colours. White for snow is traditional isn't it?

My image came from Lacy Sunshine and she is called Frozen Luna Moonflower Blooming Beauty. Well Frozen was in the name and I could only think of snow and ice when I saw this image.

If you click on the logo above you will be taken to the store. There are some beautiful images on offer.

She was coloured with Promarkers. I cut a frame for the image.

I embossed the background with a snowflake embossing folder. Then I cut the Sue Wilson Snowflake border four times and used it to surround the card. I added some extra snow flakes to the design and to the centre of each snowflake I added a PVA pearl.

Now I didn't just leave it there I was challenged to make some thing other than a card so I decided to make one of my gift bags with sweets at the bottom.

Again I coloured the image with Promarkers and this time I made a blue frame.

I edged the image with the Snowflake border die this time I trimmed it to fit and I added extra snow flakes to the corners. Over the top of the sweets I put a piece of blue card edged with silver. The sweets are meant to be snowballs they are from a high end chocolate shop so they should be delicious.

So two projects from me and I think the image works well with both.

Have a great day.

Unexpected 50th Birthday Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Happy Thursday. I am back again today this time with a card I wasn't expecting to make. It is someone at works special birthday today but the card was wanted for yesterday (that is when we have our group meeting) and I was asked on Tuesday if I had a card. Luckily I was up to date with Design Team makes so I found the time to make this.

I had been going to use a card from my extensive stash but then I remembered a sheet of images of cyclists. The recipient is a keen cyclist and all the presents were themed around this hobby so I just had to make a card using the images.

I think the sheet is one from Kanban. The images set the tone of the card and influenced my colour choices. The background seemed empty once I had placed the elements so I added some die cuts to give some added texture.

I was there when the card was opened and the recipient was thrilled she liked her presents too. It was nice to make her a special card.

Crafty Addicts - Use a die cut or Anything Goes

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I did say the start of the month is a busy time. I have blogged again just to prove it.

The Crafty Addicts Challenge Blog starts their new challenge today and the theme is use a die cut.

My image is from Inky Impressions one of the sponsors this month and she is called Fairy Lili with Snow Globe. I cut an  aperture from  the background before I embossed it, if you do it after the embossing gets flattened. I wanted her to look like she was sitting in her own snow globe.

I coloured the image with Promarkers in my favourite colours. I put the backing paper on foam pads so that the image could be sunk into the background. I added snowflakes cut with some of Sue Wilson's snowflake dies.

This is one of the sponsors this month they are offering a prize as well. There are many gorgeous images on their site if you click on the logo you should be taken there.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

I would like to join in with the November challenge at Crafting by Design.

Unicorn Challenge Blog - Christmas is Coming

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

It is only Tuesday and I am back again I hope that your week is going well so far. The start of the month is always busy and this one is no exception.

Today sees the start of a new challenge on the Unicorn Challenge Blog and for challenge number three the theme is Christmas is Coming.

I have created another winter scene with my favourite dies of this year that is the Deer Family and the Winter Trees sets by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.

This time I backed the deer with a different coloured card so they were more speckled not just in silhouette.

I made the sky by using a mask for the moon from a post-it note. I kept the mask in place when I stamped the stars. Santa  was stamped in black and heat embossed with a clear powder. The greeting was another die by Sue Wilson.

I don't often make cards this shape I do like my square card. I have a few other ideas for these dies so you may be seeing them again.

I would like to enter this for Challenge 9 at A Snowflakes Promise Challenge Blog

and the challenge at Cuttlebug Mania - Trees

Happy Crafting.

Today see the start of a new challenge on the Not Just Cards Challenge blog the theme is always Anything Goes. We have sponsors and there will be prizes. Last month there were over 400 entries. The image I used came from Robyn's Fetish and is called Christmas Scene 1.

I made the background with some stencils, Distress ink and my brushes.

The image was cut out with my ScanNcut and coloured it with my Promarkers.

Click on the logo to be taken to the store there are lots of images there.

There is a new Facebook group that has just been started that is run by the people behind the Not Just Cards Challenge blog. It is a group with few rules and you can share your work there. It is called the Paper Crafting Facebook Group. It would be lovely to see you there.

Crafts Galore Encore - Theme use a Digi or a stamped image somewhere on your project.

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope that you have had a good weekend. As you read this I will be on my way back from Lincolnshire so this post will be scheduled. In my next post I will tell you what we did this weekend I might even add some photos. If you know me on Facebook you probably already know.

Today sees the start of a new challenge on the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog and the theme is use a Digi image or a Stamp. This time we had a wonderful sponsor Art by Miran  who provided the team with images to use and will be supplying the prize for the winner.

The image I used is called Suzie Snowflake.

I do like my mauves and purples so that is how I coloured the image. The white mat was embossed with a snowflake embossing folder and inked faintly with Dusty Concorde Distress ink.

The sentiment came from a set by Indigoblu. This sentiment fits really well on this snowflake tag.

She is very pretty and I coloured her with Promakers. There were snowflakes in the image so I added the snowflake die cuts around about. All the dies are by Sue Wilson.

One last look at the card. If you click on the logo below you will be taken to the Art by Miran website.

Have a great week. It is back to school for me but I am part time so am lucky that  I get lots of time to craft.

It has just been announced that the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog is having a design team call. All the details are on the blog. It is a very friendly place to be.

I would like to enter Challenge 7 at A Bit More Time to Craft Challenge Blog.

I would also like to enter Pixie's Snippets Playground - Week 201.

As well as challenge 8 at A Snowflake's Promise challenge blog.
