Autumn themed Decorated Tag

Hello My Crafty Blog Fiends and Visitors

How has your week been? This week I have seen quite a few friends for drinks in the garden. We also had a shock over one of the bills for my parents from the Care Company. We are in the process of sorting that out. This weekend our daughter and son-in-law are coming to visit their rabbits and to bring them supplies. It will be nice to see them. They will be able to tell us about where they have got to with their house move.

I was looking back through my files and I found pictures of a tag I made for a competition but I never got round to blogging it.

I have some large black tags that are rather fun to decorate. The background was made on my Geli Plate.

I used the John Next Door Additions dies: Acorns and Leaves and Autumn leaves. I used craft card and green card some gilding wax and some distress ink to add interest to the leaves.

This sentiment comes from the Additions dies from John Nest door. I also used the leafy flourish die set.

Isn't that ribbon fabulous. I did win a prize with this tag.

Have a great weekend.

Crafts Galore Encore - Anything Goes - September Challenge

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you are having a good weekend. How did it get to be September? Where did August go?

Being the first of the month the new challenge starts at the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes and this time the sponsor is the fabulous Fabrika Fantasy.

I made an Autumn coloured background with the mats and layers to suit the image I was able to use. The brown glitter card I have had in my stash since I went to the first Newbury Craft show and they gave out goody bags. It has been very useful and it has all gone now.

There are many wonderful images and colouring pages in the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

I was so lucky that I was able to use the beautiful Autumn Fairy image which is available HERE.  There is a fairy for each of the seasons in the store. Being a PNG image I was able to layer her over a background I had created on the computer. I printed onto Neenah card stock and she was coloured with my Promarkers. Then I fussy cut the image to place on the background I had created with patterned papers and die cut leaves.

The stitched leaves dies came free with a magazine some time ago. I used scraps of coloured card to for the leaves. In the background you can just see the patterned papers that I used.

I have decided not to put sentiments on my cards until I know what I am going to use them for. This will give me a degree of flexibility.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Why not join our challenge at the Crafts Galore Challenge blog.  The winners were announced yesterday you might just be one.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

We decided to make a weekend of it we are hoping to visit some National Trust properties as well, now we are members. It will be lovely to leave the noise of the drive behind for a while.

Back to today the new challenge starts on the Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes this time with the optional twist of Autumn colours. The sponsor is Bugaboo I do love their images and I am pleased to say that they are sponsoring us twice more before the end of the year.

The back ground was created with some left over stamped autumn leaves and a piece of card stamped with Sunflowers and coloured with Distress ink.

There are some gorgeous image in the store if you click on the logo you should be taken there.

This is Autumn Squirrel he can be purchased HERE.  He does look so happy with his acorns. He was coloured with Promarkers.

Crafts Galore Encore - Anything Goes

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here! What do you have planned? Today we will be catching up on jobs and tomorrow we will be at a wedding.

It is the first day of the month and the new challenge starts on the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog the theme this time is Anything Goes and the sponsor is Kenny K stamps. I was one of the lucky ones on the Design Team who was able to choose an image from the store.

The background and the frame were covered with Washi tape. I had some as we are going to use it on the invitations for our daughter's wedding. It was good to have a play before that and this was such a good opportunity to use it.

There are many wonderful images in the store. Click on the logo to visit.

I was lucky and able to choose I couldn't  resist this  Giraffe image (available in the store). He was coloured with Promarkers and the sky with pencils.

The leaves were created with stamps and matching dies that came with Issue 11 of Crafter's Inspiration magazine.

The sentiment came with the set of stamps too.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Unicorn Challenge Blog - My preview card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

There is a new challenge blog starting in September and I am on the Design Team. The blog is called the Unicorn Challenge Blog. In the weeks leading up to the start of the first challenge the Design Team are taking it in turns to share a card for inspiration. This week is my turn. If you join the site you will be kept up to date with all the news and be ready to join in with the challenges when they start.

I made this card for my father-in-law. His birthday is in September and you may remember me saying that he is visually impaired and because of this I like to make him cards with texture.  On Saturday he took part in the celebrations of the anniversary of VJ day he could easily be seen in the march past. I did manage to take some photos from the television.

The gold background was embossed with the A4 embossing folder Celtic Flower by Creative Expressions. To create the scene behind the squirrel I inked through a leaf mask with various shades of Distress Ink. Then I stamped a newsprint stamp randomly over the background. Finally I embossed it with the Birch Trees mask also from Creative Expressions once embossed I inked the trees through the mask. I cut a tree with a memory box die. The leaves were made with some embossing punches from my stash they were inked to highlight the embossing and to tone down the colour of the papers.

I found a stamp that fitted this Spellbinder die to create the sentiment.

The squirrel is called Nutkin and he is available from Creative Expressions. He was coloured with Promarkers.

I hope that you have a good week and that you manage to fit in some crafting along the way.

I would like to join in with Pixie's Snippets Playground - Week 190 and challenge 73 at Crafting from the Heart.

Cardz 4 Guyz Jungle Fun

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a good week. I am on still on  Easter holidays from school and I am having so much fun.

This is my Guest Design Team piece for Cardz 4 Guyz the theme is Jungle Fun this new challenge starts today. When I think of fun and jungles I always think of monkeys.

I started by working out how to make the tunnel card. I had a few attempts using my Hougie board for the scoring. Eventually I worked out the design then I cut an aperture in the front of the card.

This shows the folds the back panel was separate. I decorated this first by inking a sun masking it and then inking with some stronger colours. I used a mask to create the branch and another to create the grass.

I added some die cut leaves and ivy.

The cheeky monkeys were stamped in black archival and then heat embossed with clear powder. They were coloured with Promarkers,

I think a man would like this card. My father-in-law always likes a shaped card he loves trying to work out how they are made.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Why not join in with the challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz

Squirrel goes Nuts

Hi Bloggers

I hope you are having a good week so far and that the rest of the week is kind to you. My week hasn't been too busy so I have had a bit more time to craft.

I have had the Squirrel stamp (by Sam Poole) for some time now and I had been waiting for a chance to use it. So when I found an Autumn themed challenge my opportunity came along.

To make the background I inked through a leaf border mask with Distress inks and then I stamped a newsprint stamp all over. Once this had dried I used the Birch tree mask to emboss the background when I had done this I inked through the mask. I had cut the mat so that there was a border around the mask which when inked looks like an extra mat.

The Squirrel was stamped in Black archival and heat embossed with CS Clear detail embossing powder and then coloured with Promarkers. The leaves were made with punches that emboss and they were inked with Distress ink. The tree was cut with a Memory Box die.

The sentiment comes with the Squirrel it was cut out with a spellbinder die that was inked through once it had been embossed. I had some leaves left over from the bottom of the card so I put here.

Thank you for visiting.

Happy Crafting
