Chic in Paris - Two Jays Stamps

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you doing? I am so sorry that I haven't been around much. Life does seem to have become quite hectic. With two lots of parents who are poorly this takes a lot of our time. I am still crafting but I have been working on things that I cannot share yet. Except somethings I only finished at the beginning of this week, have been moved up in the schedules and I can share them now. They will be released on Sunday under the Two Jays brand from Crafts-Too.

Here are my samples from one of the sets of stamps. The whole range is called Chic in Paris.

I think I must have used every stamp in this set for this card. I have two wreath templates and I used them both. I masked the edges of the smaller wreath and stamped the girl in the middle. All the colouring was done with my Faber Castell Polychromo colouring pencils. All the card I used is Craft Artist Linen card. Oh they do have some lovely colours. The other thing I love it my stamp platform. There are just so many cool things you can do with it.

Here is the girl in her entirety. I gave her coloured tights as I thought her dress was too short - I am such a prude. Again this is coloured with my Faber Castell Polychromo colouring pencils. All the card is Linen card.

I love making easel cards. This time I used my Presscut Oval dies to make the card base and the mats and layers. Yes there is more colouring and more Linen card.

These stamps will be released on Sunday on Create and Craft. Everything is changing with the Craft Channels and I am very confused. I used to make things for Create and Craft a few years ago. It is like going back in time. I do have another set of cards to share with you using one of the other stamp sets in the range.

Have a good weekend.

Happy Crafting

A Special Christmas Easel Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you all doing? We have been busy. Last week we had a few days in Liverpool with our friends. We attended a Bootleg Beatles concert that had been postponed from last year. The other brilliant thing we did was to do a taxi Beatle Tour with Mad Day Out Beatles Taxi Tours. We ended up at Strawberry Fields which now has a Visitors Centre where you can get a cup of tea.

Here is the card that I made for John and Sam. I used an image our daughter had drawn. I have asked her to draw a few of our friends usually in costumes of characters that they like. We have quite a few drawings of us in Star Trek uniforms.  John and Sam have received this card so it is okay to share it.

I used papers and dies that came with the Christmas Box kit. I do like making wreaths.

The characters are Dr Who David Tennant style and Captain Jack. Our daughter colours the images for me.

They were both very pleased with their card. I have a few more special cards to share. All the rest of the cards are going in the post today.

Easel Card with Small Flowers and Small Leaves

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I have hurt my back which has slowed me down quite a bit. I hope it will be better by the weekend. We are planning to see our daughter to try to get their dog to know us a bit better. So far this week I haven't managed to do much crafting. I am waiting for some dies to come then I will be making a few more bits for John. I must say it was nice seeing my cards on TV at the weekend.

I do like making easel cards. You really do have to be careful who you send them to.  I usually stick to other crafters as they know to display them. I cut two of the Firth Park larger dies and I put them together to make a square. Then I threaded ribbon through the loops. I cut the ribbon longer than I needed. Then on the back the ribbon can be glued back on itself to give a neat finish. I used one of the Stencil sentiment dies to cut the word friend into the tag that I used as a stopper.

Here is the card being shown of TV. I paused the programme on the computer and took a screen shot. That is why there is a big circle in the middle.

I might make a card like this for someone special it will be easy to change the sentiment.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Happy Crafting

Pussy Cat themed easel Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? I hope you had something nice to do. We went into Southampton on Saturday morning. We had coffee and cake vouchers for John Lewis and it would have been rude not to use them. We also returned to the Pre-Raphaelite exhibition at the Art Gallery which finishes soon. Sunday was a quiet day of catching up.

On Friday I had a bit of a difficult day. I didn't realise how tired invigilating had made me last week. With a free afternoon on Friday I tried to craft and nothing worked. I did get rather fed up. On Saturday afternoon  I took a bit of time out to craft and I was much happier with the results. Here is one of the cards that I made.

This year lots of people have given me their old cards to recycle. I go through them and sort out the cards I can use. I came across a card with a group of cats on. My mother-in-law loves cats and I thought the image would make a nice card for her.

This is a happy group of cats all dressed up and ready for the cold.

I used the sentiment cut with a die from the Happy Snowflakes die set and this became the stopper for the easel part of the card.

The trees were cut with the Winter Trees die set from Creative Expressions. The little cat die came with the Crafter's Companion Advent Calendar. I like the design on this part of the card so much I might adapt it into a card on it's own.

I was pleased with this card. I think my mother-in-law will love it. I will make a separate card for my father-in-law.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Have a great week. I will be invigilating again this week.

Christmas Cardinal Easel Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Well we have got to Friday the gateway to the weekend. I hope you have something nice planned. Today I am helping at a Felting Workshop. Today we will be making book covers. I did actually finish the pot that I made last time.

I have been entering the November Challenge at Beccy's Place Challenges and I was lucky enough to win some credit. Recently she released the Christmas Cardinals images and I just had to treat myself to them. If I don't do that no one will.

I have made a few easel cards this year. I know I have enough crafter's to send them to who will know how to display them.

This cute little image is from the Christmas Cardinals digital stamp set from Beccy's Place and is available HERE.   I used the pre-coloured image and put it onto my own photo.

I made the stopper for the easel with the Happy Christmas die from the Happy Snowflakes set from John Next Door.

Have a great weekend.

Easel Winter Scene Christmas card.

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I have come down with a cold so I am feeling a bit sorry for myself. I get dosed  up so I can go invigilating. I don't like letting people down. I always feel worse in the house. I am sure it will be over soon.

I have been playing with my John Next Door dies again. I decided to make another easel card.

I used the Falling Snow embossing folder from Creative Expressions to create the snow effect. I sanded the embossed card back to make the snowflakes white.

The sentiment was cut with the Happy Christmas die from John Next Door.

I created a winter scene with the Snow Scenes die set and the Deer Scenes die set from John Next Door. I think they work well together. I have some other ideas that I want to try.

I will have to send this one to a crafter too so they know how to display it.

I would like to enter the following challenges.:

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Beccy's Place - First day at School card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I am sorry I have been so quiet. I am really struggling with my parents. We got a care package in place for both of them so that my dad could come out of hospital. It has been running for a week and now my mum is saying they can cope on their own. I am sure some of you will be able to identify with these struggles. I don't think anything will be resolved quickly. We are seeing them at the weekend so maybe we can talk them round. It is really not a good idea for them to be left on their own.

I haven't been crafting much but today I have managed to finish a wedding card that I was asked to make by a dear friend. I can't show you yet but I thought I would share another card I made for a challenge blog that I am no longer part of.

I made an easel card I created  the backgrounds in Publisher.

Onto my background I placed a composite of images and a sentiment from the First Day Jitters image set from Beccy's Place.

The sentiment was made with a die.

I made the card but  I have no one to send it to. If anyone has any use for it I would be happy to send it to them.

Enjoy the rest of the week

Crafty Catz Challenge Blog - Anything Goes with the optional twist of Easter

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Well that was a busy week. How was your week? Have you got something nice to do at the weekend? I am not quite sure what we will be doing. We will probably try and have a meal with my parents and then we will pop over and see my husband's parents. I am not too sure about what is happening with the wedding invitations - watch this space.

Being Friday the new challenge starts on the Crafty Catz Challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of Easter. The sponsor is Sasayaki Glitter Digital Stamps.

I decided to make an Easel card. I used the Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expressions to make all the mats and layers. The pretty patterned paper came from my stash.

There are many gorgeous images in the store if you click on the logo you will be taken there.

This is the Meg and Bubbly Digital stamp and it is available HERE. I printed onto Neenah cards and coloured the image with Promarkers. The sentiment was created on the computer.

I used the Stitched Flag dies to make the stopper for the easel card and I decorated it with die cut eggs.

Have a great weekend.

Tattered Lace - Bunny Bathtime

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a good week. The weather has been amazing here. I hope it is where you are too.

A couple of weeks ago, out of the blue, I got an email from Tattered Lace asking me to make some samples. I was a bit surprised as I stepped down from the team some time ago. Anyway I was curious so I responded positively and I was sent a die to work with.

These are the samples I sent in. The die I was sent is called Bunny Bath-time and it is part of the Modern Romance collection.

I made an easel card the die was cut in white and coloured with my Promarkers. The background was created with the shaving foam technique it was made some time ago but it seemed to fit with this die.

I decorated a notebook. This would make a nice gift.

I wanted to make a card with just the mummy bunnies.

So I had all the bunnies in the bath left over. To make the card I generated the sentiment on the computer.

Gift bags are always nice to make. This time I paper pieced the die.

Here are all the samples together. The die was released yesterday. I haven't seen any of the shows so I don't know if they were used. I have just sent off another set of samples I really must stop there. Time is running out to make things for the wedding.

Crafts Galore Encore - January Challenge Anything Goes

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Firstly Happy New Year and I hope that this is a good one for you.

The new challenge starts today on the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog. The theme is Anything Goes and the sponsor is Sparkle'n'Sprinkle  the prize is 3 images of the winners choice. I have to admit that this post is scheduled I have no idea how I will be feeling when it goes live. We have been invited out to celebrate New Year so it will be a late night.

We had a choice of images and I chose this one it came with sentiments and a butterfly. I thought it is very pretty.

This is our sponsor for this time.

I used the Friendship Flowers digital stamp set the image and the sentiments were all included and there is a beautiful butterfly. I printed onto water colour card and then I coloured with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.

When I saw this banner this made me want to make an easel card and use this as the stopper.

Isn't this a lovely sentiment.

This is a Martha Stewart border punch I haven't used it for a while but it is very pretty.

I hope that you all have a wonderful New Year.

Happy Crafting

Delightful Digi's - Pansies Project Sheet

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I am back from holiday and this is my first post since returning on Friday. It takes so long to get sorted after a holiday. On Sunday we had a family meal to celebrate my parents diamond wedding anniversary that is 60 years. I even arranged for them to get their message from the Queen. If you have a digital copy of the wedding certificate this is very easy to do online.

Today I am sharing an easel card I made using the Pansies Project sheet from the O-Sew-Sweet collection available at  the Delightful Digi's Blog. I aslo used the Pansies Background sheet in red which is also available from the O-Sew-Sweet collection.

I started with a 7" x 7" kraft card blank and trimmed it a bit then  I scored one of the sides in half to create the easel. I cut a topper from another card blank. You can make two easel cards from three card blanks.

I coloured the pansies with Promarkers and I cut them out with my Brother ScanNCut once cut I layered them up with a gel glue.

The sentiment also came from the O-Sew-Sweet collection there is a sheet of sentiments.

I decorated the base  in the same way as the topper and I added the matching ribbon. To make the stopper I used the smaller square from the project sheet and I coloured a single pansy from a second sheet. Once you have a digital sheet you can print and colour them as much as you want. The stopper was mounted on foam pads so it could hold back the easel topper.

Thank you for visiting my blog and looking at what I have to share. I hope that you have a good week.

I will leave you with a picture from our holiday.

It does rather sum it up.

Happy Crafting.

Hugs Jackie
