Monochrome Cat

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your week? Today we are off to the National Trust Property, Mottisfont. It is one of the ones that is closest to where we live. It is a nice property to visit and the grounds are nice. We are meeting our daughter and son-in-law and his parents. It will be a small celebration to mark our daughter and son-in-law's wedding anniversary which was the day before. Where did those four years go?

I was going through my stash of old cards and I came across this lovely image of a cat. I just had to make it into a card.

Where I struggled was finding some paper that would suit. I did want to make a monochrome card. In the end I went for some Claritystamp Designer paper.

This is just such a lovely image of a cat.

I have an idea of who might be the recipient of this card.

Have a good weekend.

John Next Door Limited Edition Mandala Kit

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? On Saturday I had a really bad headache which really stopped me doing much at all. Though when it stopped raining we did get out for a walk this seemed to ease my head a lot. On Sunday we went to one of our local Country Parks this one runs along by the Solent. There is also a war graves cemetery there.

Back in November I was asked to be a Guest Designer for the John Next Door brand. I was sent the shutter card die set to use for that. The post is HERE Just before Christmas I was asked if I would like to be a full time Angel (that's what the Design Team get called). Of course I said yes.

This is my second outing with the Mandala Limited Edition Kit. The kit includes dies, stamps, papers and ribbons. I had lots of fun making cards with the kit. Here is the first one I made.

I only took one picture of this card. I used two of the stamps and a few of the dies to make this card. The white mandalas are stamped and the black ones die cut. In the background is some of the paper. The pad I was sent had white paper in it too. The sentiment was stamped in white and embossed with a white powder.

I think this makes are rather stylish birthday card.

John's shows are on Hochanda on Thursday 21st at 3.00pm and 7.00pm. If you like the kit as much as me there might not be a second show.

Have a good week.

Rudolph Days Challenge - Monochromatic Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Happy Saturday. We have a busy weekend ahead. Our daughter and son-in-law are coming for lunch on Sunday which should be fun. Then on Monday we are seeing my parents. We will take them out for a meal and probably do some cleaning. I hope we will be able to visit my husband's parents as well.

At the beginning of the year I set myself the target of entering the Rudolph Days challenge every month up until Christmas. Unfortunately I missed the July Challenge as the date shifted and although I had time to enter when we got back from Malta with everything going on I forgot. This is the card I would have entered click HERE.

This is quite a tiny card. I needed to make a monochrome card and I was thrilled when I found this image in my stash. I used a Snowflake embossing folder and the Winter Trees dies from Sue Wilson.

It is a cute little white and grey image.

This is a Tattered Lace die it is great for sentiments on small cards.

There it is another Christmas  card for my stash.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Isobel Craft Collection Design Team Challenge

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you have had a great weekend. We have just got back from celebrating our future son-in-law's birthday. We had a lovely meal with them and his parents. Then we went back to their house to have cupcakes made by the company who are making cupcakes for their wedding. The cupcakes are very yummy.

Last week Sophy from The Isobel Craft Collection set a challenge for her design team. We were to make a monochrome easel card with one of the her stamp sets. Well I do like a challenge. I used the first stamp set I ever got from The Isobel Craft Collection.

I decided to make a twisted easel card. I thought the bees were ideal for a monochrome card. I used black and yellow card to make the mats and layers. On the top yellow layer I used the hexagons stamp from the set and stamped it in black. I did ink round the edges with yellow Distress Ink.

I stamped other elements from the stamp set and black and where I added colour I used my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. I cut the different images out with some hexagon dies in my collection these have a stitched border.

I do like that easel cards fold flat for posting. This is the card folded for posting.

Here is the rub. This card will be posted on The Isobel Craft Collection Facebook page along with the other entries and I need votes. Please vote for me.

Sophy is also hosting one of her wonderful craft sales this evening. This is the link to this event https://www.facebook.com/events/326143511093173/. There will be lots of crafty bargains.

Fantasy Stampers - Monochrome

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here. I wonder what you have planned. We are planning to have another quiet weekend doing odd jobs around the house and we might have a trip to the cinema.

The Fantasy Stampers challenge blog new challenge starts today and the theme is Monochrome. I did look this up in the dictionary and it doesn't just have to be black and white just tones of the same colour. I did play it safe though and use the classic combination of black and white.

All the stamps I used to create this card came from the Birthday  Blooms stamp set by Stampin Up. Every stamp I used came from this set I love this set it is so useful. .

This is such a pretty little flower it looks good coloured too. The lines of hearts are meant to be wobbly.

I used some Sue Wilson dies to mount the sentiment.

I enjoyed making this card and I am pleased how it turned out.

I hope that you have a wonderful weekend.
