Proteas at Beccy's Place

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? Today I am sharing the cards that I made with the Proteas Digital Image set from Beccy's Place. Here are the cards I made. I do love getting these flowers in a bouquet until now I didn't know what they were called.

Today it is my turn at Beccy's Place Blog

I coloured the the images with my Faber Castell Coloured pencils. I do love a corner die and I used the Presscut Nested Oval dies as well.

They were great images to colour.

I do like making DL cards. I cut the images out with the Double Pierced Circle dies from Creative Expressions.

I enjoyed making these cards.

Floral Feel Better Soon Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you have had a good weekend. We managed to be busy although not much was arranged. We did see our friend who had an operation last week. On Sunday we visited our daughter and son-in-law. We have started planning a special holiday with them. Today a full time carer starts work at my parents house to look after them. It has taken a lot of effort to get to this place.

I loved the dies I used on Friday's card so much that I decided to make a smaller card.

I found the patterned paper in a pad and I liked the colours so much I decided to make that the colour scheme of the card.

I used the Renmore die set from the John Next Door range to make a focal point for the sentiment. This time I used the inner die that that comes with the set to make a darker background sentiment. The sentiment is made from a scrap of the patterned paper. The sentiment die is from Crafter's Companion.

I cut the Cornflower die from the John Next Door Range in blues and yellows. As I was using smaller flowers I used the Star Flower Leaves dies to make the foliage.

The next two weeks are going to be rather busy I am not sure how much crafting will get done. I will try to keep up with my comments.

I would like to enter the following challenges:

Have a great week.

A Quick Get Well Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you are having a great week. The weather was just amazing yesterday. I was helping at a Wet Felting Workshop and we were able to have our coffee break in the garden. I felted a soap. You can see it HERE.

In the light of our son-in-law breaking his elbow I needed a Get Well Card. I turned to my stash of Pollyanna Pickering papercraft kits. He received the card on Tuesday. Yesterday he went back to the hospital and the cast came off. He has a small break and he has to be careful. No lifting and only short drives. This is amazing as he will be able to go back to work. He did like the card.

Last week I was looking at the backing paper wondering about when it would be useful, well yesterday it was. It took two passes of my Tattered Lace alphabet to get all the the letters for the sentiment. The die came free with a Tattered Lace magazine, some time ago,  the letters are a good size but the B doesn't cut properly. Fortunately this time I didn't need any B's.

The topper comes in a pad all done and ready to go. I just trimmed the edges and matted it with black.

There it is nice and flat for posting and it is on its way now.

Cute Owl by Pollyanna Pickering - Get Well Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are well and that the weather hasn't affected you too much. I have had a busy couple of days getting ready to go away. It is so lovely having the time to do this.

Just before we go. I would like to share another card with you.

The backing paper is that very useful packaging from an M&S flower bag.

This little owl by Pollyanna Pickering is just so cute it couldn't fail to cheer someone up.

This was a nice easy card to make with very pleasing results.

I hope you have a great week.

Fantasy Stampers - Teddy Bears' Picnic

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

We have made it to the weekend. There are a few things that have made last week tricky for me. But today our daughter is staying with us and we can start work on the Save the Date cards as well as have a bit of fun together.

The new challenge starts on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge Blog and the theme is Teddy Bear's Picnic which means using a bear on your project.

I used my Double Pierced Squares dies to make all the mats and layers. The patterned paper and the buttons were in my stash.

The cute little bear stamp was given to me by a friend in a bundle of crafty goodies. He is a Hobbycraft stamp and he is called Bear. I stamped him with black ink and I coloured him with Promarkers. I added some distress ink top and bottom to give some shading.

I can't remember where this stamp came from I think it was in a set.

He does look rather glum that is why I made him into a Get Well card.

If you check back on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge Blog tomorrow the winners of the last challenge will be announced.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Alphabet Challenge - Letter U - Under the Weather

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I am sorry this will be a quick post I am seriously short of time I have three deadlines that I have to meet and our daughter is beginning the process of buying her first house and there is lots to do. It is all very exciting and things are moving very fast at the moment.

Today sees the start of a new challenge on the Alphabet Challenge Blog the the letter is U and the theme is Under the Weather.

This is a tiny card just 11cm x 11 cm. I had the LOTV image in my stash and it was just so appropriate for the challenge. I made a frame for the image using my dies. I just love making frames and cutting apertures. The paper and ribbon was in my stash. I should make more small cards they are fun.

I hope you have a great Friday. I wonder if you will get any shopping bargains.

Happy Crafting.

Night, Night Teddy

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here! I hope you have something good planned. On Sunday I will going to the Sincerely Yours Papercraft show at the Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth. I am really looking forward to it. I should be meeting at least one of my crafty friends and of course I will be shopping.

I found this cute little teddy  bear in my stash. I thought he would be suitable for the challenge 22 at Crafting Musketeers this month which is Cute.

It is quite a simple card but  I did get to use some dies that I haven't used in a while. The papers were from my stash .

I cut the heart circle frame in black and teal.

I wasn't sure which sentiment to put on this card I decided to for a general one. It might make a nice get well card.

The little hearts are the waste from the die. They looked so pretty I wanted to use them they couldn't go to waste.

I hope you have a great weekend. I am hoping to get a bit of crafting done tomorrow.

Happy Crafting

Drink me!

Hi Everyone

I hope you had a good weekend. I was able to go to the local Sincerely Yours Papercraft show in Portsmouth. The icing on the cake was that I won £50 in vouchers to spend at the show. There were so many lovely  things that it  wasn't hard to do.

Today's card is one of my offerings for the Creative Studios By Sam Poole design team. My day for posting on their site is a Monday.

IMG 7731 f improf 524x533 Drink Me !

This card started life as a  7" x 7" Kraft card blank. I cut a black mat and then a brown mat. I embossed the brown mat with the Hexagon Haven A4 embossing folder by Sue Wilson. Once embossed I inked the brown mat with Black Soot Distress ink to emphasis the pattern. I cut a smaller white mat and I embossed this with the Rope Frame Mask and then inked it with a brown distress ink. I used the Spellbinders  Fleur De Lis Squares die to cut and emboss the blue mat.

The bottle was fun. I used heat resistant acetate for the first time. The stamp I used was the "Ship in a bottle" so I had to work out how to get the bottle without the ship. I stamped the whole stamp onto the sticky part of a post-it-note. Then I cut out the ship making sure it had some of the sticky on it I used jet black Archival ink to stamp the I covered the ship with the post-it-note ship and then stamped onto the acetate.  I heat embossed it with Cosmic Shimmer fine detail embossing powder. This was a bit of an experiment for me so I din't take photos this time when I do this again (which I will) I will take photos. I also stamped the bottle in the same way onto some white card I heat embossed that too.

I cut out the acetate bottle leaving a flap down each side of the main part of the bottle. I added some colour to the white bottle with Promarkers. The I cut some double sided sticky sheet to fit the lower portion of the white bottle and I covered this with small green beads to look like a liquid. I used some very strong tape to attach the flaps of the acetate bottle to the back of the white bottle. To my surprise the bottle has a curve to it.

The sentiment was from the Lovely Labels collection by Sam Poole. The label I cut with a die and I inked round the edge then I wrote on the label just like in Alice in Wonderland. I tied the label to the bottle with string burlap. Everything was stuck together with a very strong glue.

I thought you might like to see the state the dining room gets into when I craft. This is what it looked like when I was making this card. My family is very tolerant.

I also though you might like to see my stash from the craft show in Portsmouth. It was fun and they are coming back in February.

Thanks for stopping by and for any comments you may leave I appreciate each one.

A get well card and my stash from Ally Pally.

This is a  quick card to send to someone who has just has an operation. I made the frame by scoring with my Hougie board. The lattice die and the birdcage are Spellbinders and the bird and leaves  a  Marianne die. The flowers were punched and shaped. The  backing paper I had in my stash. Finally the sentiment was one from a set designed by Sam Poole. I promised to make some cards that could be sold at a Macmillan garden party I might use this design.

This is what I bought at Ally Pally on Saturday. I had a brilliant time. I saw demos by Sam Poole, Phill Martin (I helped him by peeling the backing paper off his double sided tape) and Julia Watts. I spoke to Sue Wilson she was making lots of bows. I'm kicking myself because I didn't take any photos they would have been fun to put on here.

Thank you for looking at my blog.
