Spring Rain - Colouring to Keep me Happy

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you have had a good week. The weekend is nearly here. Do you have any plans? We might have some longer walks depending on the weather. We will be doing the Valentine's Meal Deal from M&S. Hopefully there will be some good films to watch.

I have had a stressful couple of weeks. Though things seem to be a lot better now. I found that colouring with my pencils has helped a lot. Now I have a few coloured images that I wanted to make into cards. Here is one of them.

I remembered that I had a patterned paper with umbrellas on it. It did take me a while to find it. I used the Stitched flag dies to add some interest to the middle of the card. The patterned paper there came from a pad from the Works.

This is the Spring Rain image from StarStampz it is available HERE.  She was coloured with my Polychromo pencils. The image and the mats were cut with Tattered Lace dies.

This super die is from Crafter's Companion.

I enjoyed making this card. Just as a reminder there is the Anything Goes Challenge is still running at the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog there is a chance to win 3 images from StarStampz.

Football themed 60th Birthday Card and Cake Topper for a Saints Fan

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? Not much has happened here but then that is not surprising.

Last week my friend was asked to make a birthday cake for one of her neighbours. She wasn't given much notice and she asked if I could make a cake topper and a small card. I found out that he is a Saints (Southampton) fan and their colours are red and white. I do like a challenge I had never made a cake topper before.

Let's start with the card. It was good to know that he is a Saints fan. The backing paper was on my computer. I did smudge the middle of the footballs with a Posca pen. I used the  Stitched flags and the Happy Birthday sentiment from Creative Expressions. The numbers are John Next Door dies and the letter for the name were made with Crafter's Companion dies. The red and white paper was also printed from the computer. It was a Christmas paper.

This is the cake topper. I used Tonic dies to cut out the circles. I used red glitter card and white pearl paper.  The topper is double sided it looks the same on both sides. In the middle is a kraft card circle that I could glue the other circles to. I also cut a slot for the stick so that would lay a bit more flat. I used a mix to dies to make the message.

Here is the cake. I think the topper works quite well.

Andy liked his cake. He wasn't quite so thrilled about Saints the previous evening they had lost 9 - 0. Opps. Can you see his front door is red?

I did enjoy making this project. I find it much easier to make things when I have a purpose.

A Bit More Time to Craft Extra Challenge for November - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you are having a good weekend. The first of the month is always busy in blogland and today I have two posts going live for two different Design Teams.

The first is for the November Challenge at the A Bit More Time to Craft Extra Challenge. The theme is always Anything Goes and there are gorgeous digi papers to win.

I think I have mentioned on here that my hubby is retiring on the 30th November. He is taking voluntary severance which means we get a bit of extra money. Oh the plans I have in my head already. He needed a card. Here it is.

It is perfectly fine to share this card now. My hubby is very supportive but he follows none of my social media platforms. For this card I used the Mix and Hue Digi papers. I used the Stitched Flag dies from Creative Expressions to make the flag across the middle. I used a leafy embossing folder in the background

Our challenges are lots of fun. Click on the logo and you will be taken to the challenge.

This image came from a HunkyDory pad of images it just seemed appropriate.

Our garden does need a lot of attention so I expect my hubby will be out there a lot when he is retired.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend. I will be back very soon.

Not Just Cards Challenge blog - Anything Goes - October Challenge

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you are having a good weekend. We are having a quiet one there are still lots of jobs to catch up on. Our daughter and son-in-law still don't have a moving date so we still have the bunnies.

The October Challenge has just started at the Not Just Cards Challenge blog. The theme is Anything Goes. This is a card that I made for my uncle who is in a care home in Devon.

I do like making nautical themed cards. The patterned papers came from a paper pad I bought in The Works.

Our challenge are always fun. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

To create the frame I used the Double Pierced Circle dies from Creative Expressions. The scene was created with the Nautical Scenes die set that came free with a magazine some time ago.

I used the Stitched Flag dies from Creative Expressions to make this panel. The ship's wheel came from the Nautical Scenes die set.

I hope my uncle liked this card.

Enjoy your day.

Clyde the Dragon - Get Well Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend. On Saturday we met our friends for a lovely walk by the river in Hamble. In the evening we watched a live stream of a John Lennon tribute Act. Then on Sunday we went up to Andover so we could see the house our daughter and son-in-law are in the process of buying. We still had lots of time at home to get on with jobs.

I have been following the Facebook lives that Barbara Gray does very weekday at 10.00 am. Now one week we doodle and one week we colour with pencils. Until then I had never really got on with colouring with pencils. I did treat myself to a set of Prismacolor pencils a while back. Well now I can use them. I am rather pleased.

So I could practice I went through and found all the images I had printed and not coloured. For this card I used a lot of dies. From Creative Expressions I used the Double Pierced Squares and Rectangles and the  Stitched Flag dies. The patterned papers were in my stash.

This cute little dragon is called Clyde Get Well and he comes from Bugaboo. He was coloured with my Prismacolor pencils.

I have made a lot of get well cards lately. I do love this little dragon he is lovely to colour with pens or pencils.

Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) Challenge - theme follow the Sketch

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? This is a heavy week of invigilating for me. Also tomorrow I will be helping at a Felting Workshop. It is rather difficult to craft and I have a big project on at the moment that is taking a lot of time.

Today the new challenge starts at the Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) challenge blog and the theme is follow the Sketch.

I used black card to follow the lines of the sketch. The Double Stitched Flag dies were used to create the shapes under the image. All the patterned papers I used were in my stash.

Here is the sketch to follow.

This is a Pollyanna Pickering image that came from a pad of images. I do love the colours in this image.

I will be adding a sentiment later when I decide who to send the card to.

Another Christmas Design using Snippets

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? It is half term round here so everything is a bit busier than usual. But is does mean that I can meet up with some of my working friends. Today I am off for another craft session with my lovely friend and one of our friends that works will be  joining us. We are going to be making flowers. Tomorrow my husband and I are meeting friends in town of a meal and then we are all going to visit the Festival of Light in Southampton. We also have a trip to London to plan with them.

I have been making Christmas cards again. This year I kept back a couple of handmade cards that I liked for inspiration. This is another one of the designs I wanted to have a go at.

The background is made from Snippets of patterned paper cut with the Stitched flags dies from Creative Expressions. There is a layer of inked patterned paper underneath the design.,

This is the Noel word die from Lil' Inker Designs, I was so lucky that I won this in the Christmas competition at Pixie's Snippets Playground.

Because of the antlers on the Noel die I decided to add a Stag cut from a small piece of Kraft card he was inked with Distress ink. He comes from the Winter Wonderland Collection from Sizzix. I am so glad I bought that die set last year. The shop where I bought this die set had another 20% off day recently and I treated myself to another Sizzix die set. I am sure I will be using this soon.

I am pleased with how this card turned out. I did make two other cards like this at the same time. This is the one I like the most.

Woodware Tatty Daises and Distress Oxides.

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I am glad the snow has gone. In fact our snow had disappeared by Friday evening. On Sunday we got to meet our four month old great niece. She is a little sweetie and we did get a few cuddles. It is so nice to have a baby in the family.

Sometime ago I made a panel using Distress Oxides and the Tatty Daisies stamp from Woodware. It has been lying around on my craft desk for ages. I have finally made it into a card. It is amazing what you find when you have a tidy up.

I know the background is made with blended Distress Oxides that was then flicked with water to make the spots.

I can't remember if I stamped and embossed before I added the Distress Oxides to the paper or after. I did use water to remove some of the colour from the flowers and then I painted them with Pixie Powers made into a paint with water.

The sentiment came from one of my sets of images from Beccy's Place. I had printed it and die cut it some time ago.

This will be a nice flat card for posting. I really am trying not to make so many dimensional cards this year. The postage costs are prohibitive.

Golden Bell Christmas Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I am finding this time leading up to Christmas very busy. There is so much I want to get made and I am not sure if there is going to be time.

I have made a lot of cards this year and I have lost track of them a bit. I used the Golden Bell image from Beccy's Place for a Design Team card. I always print more images than I need, this is case something goes wrong. I am often left with unused images that it seems a shame to waste. This was the case with this card.

I found the backing paper in my stash I think it came from a magazine. In the background I used the Stitched Flags die set from Creative Expressions.

I used the pre-coloured image. I am just getting back into my colouring but it does take me a while. This is the Golden Bell image from Beccy's Place it is available HERE.

This is the sentiment die from the Happy Snowflakes die set from John Next Door.

This is another card for my stash. I bet it ends up being too thick for ordinary post. Enjoy the rest of the week.

Always Fun Challenges - theme Male/ Dad

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? I hope you did something nice. We manged to remove most of the ivy from our garage. We attended a barbecue for people investing in cows for a farm in France. The cows have been bought and will be travelling to France in August. On Sunday we went to the Portsmouth Papercraft show and I met my crafty friend Sandy.

Being Monday the new challenge starts at Always Fun Challenges. The theme this time is Male/ Dad. As Father's Day is not far away it is time to share all those makes.

This is the card I made for my husband's birthday.

Our challenges are always fun.

I printed the image from a Creative World of Crafts  CD which is full on Pollyanna Pickering images. I printed the paper from the CD too. The aperture and frame were cut with the Double Pierced Circle dies from Creative Expressions. The ivy was cut with another Creative Expressions die set.

The sentiment came from a paper pad and it was mounted on the a flag cut with the Stitched flag dies from Creative Expressions.

Moving Along with the Times MAWTT - Black and White and one other colour

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope your week is going well. I am invigilating for the next two mornings with a very early start on Friday. This is also a busy blog time for me with lots of Design Team commitments coming at the same time.

The new challenge starts on the Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) Challenge blog and for the next fortnight the theme is to use Black and White and one other colour.

I started by finding a black and white script backing paper. I cut the lattice with the Strip die from John Next Doors Sandwich Box die set.  The frame was made with the Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expression.

I used the Stitched Flag dies from Creative Expression to make the flag. The sentiment was cut with a die that I won as a prize.

I used the Gerbera Flower dies and the Gerbera Leaves dies from John Next Door to make the flower spray.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Beccy's Place - Ferris Wheel

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I have been very busy the invigilating has taken a bit of getting used to and of course it has eaten into my craft and blog time.

I am the Guest Designer on Beccy's Place Design Team. Here I am using the second set of images from the second set I was sent.

The background for this card was made with inky kitchen roll that I had dried and stuck to card. The stars were cut with a die I think they were the waste.

There are many wonderful images in at Beccy's Place. If you click on the logo you will be taken there.

I printed the image onto Neenah card and I coloured it with Promakers. Then I cut it out with my ScanNcut.

I put two of the sentiments on the card.

I cut flags for them with some Sue Wilson dies.

There you have is quite a simple card. The colouring always takes me a while.  You can see my card on Beccy's Blog HERE.
