A New Home Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you had a good weekend. I do feel for the people who are back in lockdown. I wonder when we will be free of this awful virus. Our daughter and son-in-law move at the end of the week. Hopefully we will be able to help them unless something changes of course. Then it will be nearly time for the bunnies to go home. 😊

When I sold some of my cards in the summer all my new home cards were sold. I made this one to replace them. This is not the card I am giving to our daughter and son-in-law it is just one for my stash of cards.

The background is made with Washi tape. I found this tape at a Garden centre last year it is a large roll it will last a long time. It is ideal for new home cards.

The Heart dies I used are from the John Next Door range. The little house die set came free with a magazine sometime ago.

The sentiment was made with a Britannia die set.

Now I had a card in my stash for when I am asked for one.

Have a good week.

Happy Crafting

Not Just Cards Challenge Blog - April Challenge - Anything Goes - New Home Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you getting on? We are fine. My hubby is now on leave. It has been strange today. We are still shopping for two older couples and I am checking up on an older lady who lives on her own. That is a well as trying to sort out the shopping for my parents. It is so hard to get those shopping slots.

The April challenge starts today at the Not Just Cards Challenge blog the theme is always Anything Goes. I made a card that I won't be needing for a while.

I do like to have New Home cards in my stash. In fact our Daughter and Son-in-Law are thinking of moving and were looking into this before the Corona Virus caught up with us all.  When I was shopping with a friend (remember when we used to be able to do that) and I spotted and had to have a huge roll of washi tape with houses on it. That is what I used to create the background for this card.

Why not join in with our fun easy challenge. If you click on the logo you will taken there.

I used the Heart of Hearts die set from Creative Expressions to make the big heart and its mat. The house die set came free with a magazine a while ago. The sentiment was cut with some Britannia dies.

Well I did enjoy making this card and making a start on the huge roll of washi tape.

On a personal note last year for my birthday I received a journalling bible. Well I hadn't touched the bible since I was given it. I did say that I have been following the doodling sessions run by Barbara Gray on Facebook. I have a lovely skill set of drawing skills that I can call on and  I used them to start my journal. I am going to start a page on my blog with my sketches. This really is something I never thought I would do.

Circular Christmas Box for Chocs

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

We are back from our cruise. It was so lovely to be away in a holiday bubble. We got back last Friday and on Saturday I had a call about my mum who had taken a turn for the worse. We visited on Sunday and all seemed fine but the care package might need to be increased. I am in talks with the Care Agency to try and work out what is best. Today I am helping at the first of two Felting Workshops this week.

Before we went away I challenged myself to make a circular box.I wanted to use  dies that I had from the Heart Box die set from the John Next Door range. I did watch a video on how John Made the Heart box and I applied this new knowledge to a circular box.

I used a lot of the Double Pierced Circle dies from Creative Expressions to make this box. They are my go to circle dies. I also used the Winter Trees die set and the Deer Family die set all from Creative Expressions.

Here you can see the Washi Tape around the edge of the box. The paper I used came from the John Lockwood Box Magazine.

The lid fits nicely on the box.

It does remind me of a Cheesy Triangles box. I am sure some chocs will fit just fine.

Enjoy the rest of the week. I will be mostly sorting out things for Christmas.

Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog - Challenge #69 - Anything Goes and Design Team Call

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Thank you for all the well wishes for my hubby. He is much better now and back at work there is just a bit of a lingering cough. This weekend we are having friends here for a meal on Saturday. After we are all going to our local theatre to see Hal Cruttenden. They do get some good comedians at our little theatre. On Sunday it will be church and we are picking up details of the hamper that our little group will be putting together for one of the families being supported through CAP.

Being the first of the month it is usually busy in blogland. For me there will be two posts today. This is the day that  a couple of design teams I am on have coincided. Next year this will be happening more often more about that later on.

Challenge #69 starts today at the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes. This time the sponsor is Beccy's Place.

I have not one but two cards on offer. I covered the backing paper in this card with washi tape.

Beccy has many wonderful images and sets in her store. If you click on the logo you will be taken there.

This image is from the Sing Joy digital stamp set which is available HERE. . I did use a pre-coloured image so that I could place onto a background I had created on the computer. Aren't those flip-flops just fab. That is just what they will be wearing in Australia around Christmas time.

This is a Tattered Lace die and in fact the first one I ever bought. It was just right for this image.

One last look at this card and then onto the next.

To create the ivy background for this card I used Sam's Star die set from the John Next Door range.

This cute little is from the Christmas Cardinals digi stamp set which is available HERE.  Again I used a pre-coloured image and made my own background on the computer. I do love his cute little boots.

The snowflakes were made with Happy Snowflakes dies set from the John Next Door range.

So there you have both of my cards both with images from Beccy's Place. This month she has a Christmas card challenge on her blog. She is very generous with prizes it is worth entering.

Have a great weekend.

Beccy's Place - Sing Joy digi stamp set

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you are having a great weekend. Yesterday my husband  worked  at his University's  Open Day. I went out early and treated myself to breakfast at M&S. In the evening we went to a 50th Birthday party. Today we are having a lazy day sorting things out for our trip to London next week.

I am one of the contributors to the Beccy's Place blog. I was sent the Sing Joy digi set and I was asked  to make cards, tags and a box to put them in.

Here is the box I decorated the patterned paper with washi tape and musical notes made with a tattered lace die.

There are many fantastic images in the store and Beccy runs regular competitions. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

Here is the open box showing the cards and tags inside.

Here are the cards I enjoyed putting the images in different configurations.

Here are the tags.

Here is everything together. This is such a fun set to use. I am not sure who these cards will go to but whoever it is I am sure they will make them smile.

An Anniversary Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you have had a good week. It has been a busy one for me. The weekend ahead is going to be busy too. I am very lucky that my lovely hubby is taking me to the Farnborough Craft show on Saturday. Then we are visiting our parents that live up that way. On Sunday we are taking back the hamster we have been looking after for our daughter and son-in-law. I hope we get to share a meal with them as well.

As some of you know I help my very talented friend at her felting workshops. She keeps a box of scraps and I found a lovely piece of felt that must have been trimmed from a bigger project.. I asked if I could keep it to make a card and she kindly agreed.

I hung onto to the piece of felt for a while and I finally decided to make it into a card for our anniversary which is at the beginning of April. I do like to be ahead with my makes. You never know what might happen.

The backing paper came from some packaging. The card is scored so the flap doesn't reach the other side. I can't remember what this style of card is called. I did put some paper on the inside so that I can write a message.

So the background piece is the original piece of felt and I needle felted a little boat onto it. I created the mats and layers with my guillotine.

I added some Washi tape to the design. The sentiment was cut with some Britannia Dies.

I think you can see how the card is folded from this picture. It is okay for me to share this card as my hubby doesn't look at my blog or Facebook Page.

Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog - January - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

Happy New Year ðŸŽˆðŸŽ†ðŸŽ‡ðŸŽ‰

I hope you are feeling okay after last night. We had a quiet night in but we did see in the New Year with a glass of bubbly while listening to the chimes and watching the fireworks on the telly.

Being the first of the month the new challenge starts on the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes and this time the sponsor is Sparkle 'N' Sprinkle. The Design Team were able to choose images from the store to work with.

I just couldn't resist these coffee cups.

Our fabulous Sponsor is Sparkle N Sprinkle if you click on the logo you will be taken to the store.

The images and sentiment I used came from the Expresso Yourself Digital Stamp set which can be purchased HERE. I used two of the coffee cup images and a sentiment from the set. They were printed onto Neenah card and coloured with Promarkers.

I decided to make this into a Valentine's Day card for my husband as we are known for going out for coffee together often.

I just have to remember where I have put this card when I need it in February.

Enjoy your day.

Happy Crafting

Hugs Jackie

Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge blog - Anything Goes - with the optional twist of Santa Claus is coming to Town

Hello my Crafty Blog Friends

How is has your week been?  I hope you have something nice planned for the weekend. Tomorrow we are going to a Christmas choir rehearsal in the morning. Then there will be some things to sort out for Christmas. On Sunday the choir will be singing in the Sunday Service. We will be doing four songs. It should be good our choir master is very talented.

This is the last challenge of 2017 for the Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge Blog.  This is challenge is number 397 the theme is Anything Goes and the optional twist is Santa Clause is coming to Town.  There is also a Guest Design Team call for January. The sponsor this time is Digital Paper Craft. The Design Team used their own images for this challenge.

This is a tiny A6 card. I wanted to make  some more small cards. Because I made a rosette with my Hougie Board it is a bit dimensional for posting. My husband gave them to people at work when they were at their Christmas meal last Monday.

There are lots of exciting things in the store if you click on the logo you will be taken there.

The Santa from the Christmas Cookie-Cutter stamp set was stamped with Archival ink onto Neenah card and coloured with Promakers. He was cut out with the matching punch.

The sentiment comes from the same set.

I made four cards like this and they have all been given out. I do like that cute Santa.

The Crafty Catz next challenge starts on January 5th 2018.

Enjoy your weekend.

Crafts Galore Encore - Anything Goes

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here! What do you have planned? Today we will be catching up on jobs and tomorrow we will be at a wedding.

It is the first day of the month and the new challenge starts on the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog the theme this time is Anything Goes and the sponsor is Kenny K stamps. I was one of the lucky ones on the Design Team who was able to choose an image from the store.

The background and the frame were covered with Washi tape. I had some as we are going to use it on the invitations for our daughter's wedding. It was good to have a play before that and this was such a good opportunity to use it.

There are many wonderful images in the store. Click on the logo to visit.

I was lucky and able to choose I couldn't  resist this  Giraffe image (available in the store). He was coloured with Promarkers and the sky with pencils.

The leaves were created with stamps and matching dies that came with Issue 11 of Crafter's Inspiration magazine.

The sentiment came with the set of stamps too.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Happy Crafting
