Birthday Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? I am back at work and I have had the back to work headache which is a shame. It really isn't long to the weekend now.

I made this card for the now deceased Fantasy Stampers Challenge blog which closed down at the beginning of January. I was ahead of myself and had made a card for the January challenge that was never to be.

I do love this colour combination I keep having to reorder the card because I keep running out of it. I created the background by putting some Pixie Powders and Brushos onto a craft mat and with water making a puddle of ink, Then in my hand I took the Spring Trail background stamp (designed by John Lockwood for Creative Expressions) and stamped the blue ink all over sheet of water colour card.

I used a Visible image stamp for the Happy Birthday I stamped it straight on to the card and heat embossed it with a black powder.

For the centre I used the Going to Seed stamp by Woodware. this was also heat embossed with a black powder.

I hope the rest of the week is kind to you.

Happy Crafting

My Favourite Five cards of 2016

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas. I know it is not easy for many people for lots of different reasons. We did have a lovely time with our daughter and her fiance and our future in-laws on Christmas day at their new house.  Then on Boxing Day we took my in-laws to my brother-in-law's house for another family celebration. Our daughter is back to work now and we are playing catch up. It is lovely to have some time off.

I did this last year and I decided to repeat this year. That is sharing my favourite cards from the year.

Oh boy it was a lot harder choosing than I thought it would be. Maybe next year I will do a top ten. All these cards have been featured on my blog over the past year. I have put the dates when the cards were put on my blog and I have linked back to the pages where the instructions are. I do like my square cards don't I.

Enjoy the rest of the week. We are hoping to get to the cinema sometime.

Creative Artiste Challenge Blog - Anythings Goes

Hi My Craft Blog Friends

I hope that you have had a wonderful week and that you have got done all the things that you wanted to do. I have a week mostly catching up on jobs. I am now preparing for our daughter to visit this evening. The plan is to make my husband a birthday cake and tomorrow we are going somewhere so she can try on wedding dresses. This is super exciting.

The first Friday of the month see the start of a new challenge on the Creative Artiste Challenge blog and the theme is Anything Goes. We have a sponsor Stamporations and the Design Team were sent masks to work with. I was sent the Shutters mask and the Bold Florals mask.

The masks were quite different so I decided to make two cards.

To create the background I laid the Bold Florals mask on to some watercolour card. First I sprinkled some mica over the mask and then with a brush I put some Brusho powder where I wanted it on the design. Now it was time to spritz it with water. While it was still wet I lifted the mask and I left the design to dry. As I had  added mica the background has a slight shimmer.

Here is a close up on the background. I was lots of fun to create.

The lilies were created with a Spellbinder die set and coloured with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. I really do try to use them whenever I can. I love the way they can be moved around with water.

I used a Sue Wilson die to cut the flag and its mat. The sentiment was cut with a Britannia word die set.  I didn't want to put too much on the card to hide the pretty background.

This card is quite different in tone. I actually made this one first. I put the Shutter mask onto some water colour card. It was sprinkled with some of my Brushos this time more randomly. Once this was done I spritzed the mask with water. I removed the mask and turned it inky side down onto some ready and waiting watercolour card. This is how I created the second mat.

The sentiment came from the Woodware Gone to Seed stamp set. It was stamped in Perfect Medium and heat embossed with a sparkly black powder.

This is the Gone to Seed stamp I love it. Again it was stamped with Perfect Medium and heat embossed with a black sparkly powder.

I had lots of fun making these cards. I love masks all the things you can do with them they are so versatile.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Alphabet Challenge - I for Ink It Up!

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is nearly here. I am off to a crafty workshop with my friend tomorrow, I am really looking forward to it.

It is time for the new challenge on the Alphabet Challenge Blog the letter is I for Ink it Up. Here is my card I was rather pleased with this one.

To create the background I used a technique that John Lockwood demoed with Pixie Powders. I used my Brushos which I think behave the same but they are not sparkly. I sprinkled three shades of the Brushos  powders onto my craft mat, you don't need much, then I sprayed the powders with water. I used a lot of water as I wanted the colours to be a bit more subtle. In my hand I held background stamp Spring Trail by Creative Expressions and I stamped with the Brusho all over some water colour card. I left it to dry before I moved on to the next bit.

Last time I went into town I treated myself to a new stamp by Woodware it is called Going to Seed. It was stamped with black archival and heat embossed with a clear powder. I think it shows up really well against the background.

The sentiment came in the the same stamp set.

That is all from me today. I hope that you have a wonderful day.

Thank you for all your visits and comments I do appreciate them all.

Happy Crafting.

Fantasy Stampers - Flower Power

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here. I wonder what you have planned? We are seeing our daughter and her fiancé to celebrate my birthday which is on Monday. We will be hat shopping, for the wedding in July, seeing a film and having a meal. The weather should be nice which is a plus.

Today a new challenge starts on the Fantasy Stampers Challenge blog and the  theme is Flower Power

I used the Fushia Spray stamp by Woodware. I must admit that I bought this stamp with the idea of using my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens and that is what I did.

I stamped the image with Black Archival ink onto water colour  before colouring it with the pens.

The sentiment is a Lily of the Valley stamp that came free with a magazine sometime ago.

If you check back on the Fantasy Stamper Challenge Blog tomorrow the winners of the last challenge will be announced.

Have a great weekend.
