I am sorry I have been so quiet. I am really struggling with my parents. We got a care package in place for both of them so that my dad could come out of hospital. It has been running for a week and now my mum is saying they can cope on their own. I am sure some of you will be able to identify with these struggles. I don't think anything will be resolved quickly. We are seeing them at the weekend so maybe we can talk them round. It is really not a good idea for them to be left on their own.
I haven't been crafting much but today I have managed to finish a wedding card that I was asked to make by a dear friend. I can't show you yet but I thought I would share another card I made for a challenge blog that I am no longer part of.
I made an easel card I created the backgrounds in Publisher.
Onto my background I placed a composite of images and a sentiment from the First Day Jitters image set from Beccy's Place.
The sentiment was made with a die.
I made the card but I have no one to send it to. If anyone has any use for it I would be happy to send it to them.
Enjoy the rest of the week
I would like to enter the following challenges:
Happy Crafting

Great card, Jackie, lovely design. Hope everything works out well with your parents' care. xx
Your card is fabulous Jackie. You did a wonderful job combining all the images, I like the little back-to-school montage. I also like the card fold you chose, it shows off your work beautifully.
I hope all works out with your parent's care, it's a difficult situation for all of you. Thinking of you.

Love this card, such a great idea for someone starting afresh.
Ah parents - you have to love them don't you. You work your socks off to sort out a care package and then they think they no longer need. Whatever you do, do not let them cancel the support, it is a nightmeare to try and get it back again. I know they find it dificult to admit that they are getting older and do need help and I understand that but if it makes life a little easier for them, then accept the help. You have to be really tough which is difficult when they have spent all your life looking after you and helping you make decisions, then you have to help them. I find this particulary difficult and upsetting. Big hugs to you and your husband xxx

Fab card. Nice layout.
Hope you manage to get your parents to keep the care package you worked hard to get in place. It will give you some peace of mind when you can't be there that any problem will be spotted. Tell them little lies if you have to - that care is contracted and first review isn't for month or 8 weeks, so giving you more time to persuade them that the care package is there to help them live independantly in their home rather than to take away their independance, that theydeserve some help to make things easier for them after years of being there for others. Perhaps find out which bit of the care they most object to and if it isn't the most critical part agree that they can do that for themselves provided they keep the carers to do everything else they are suppose to. Find out if it's because of a clash of personalities with one or two if the carers, or if your mother would prefer a female carer while your father would prefer a male carer for certain things.
Hope you get things sorted.
