Clyde the Dragon - Get Well Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend. On Saturday we met our friends for a lovely walk by the river in Hamble. In the evening we watched a live stream of a John Lennon tribute Act. Then on Sunday we went up to Andover so we could see the house our daughter and son-in-law are in the process of buying. We still had lots of time at home to get on with jobs.

I have been following the Facebook lives that Barbara Gray does very weekday at 10.00 am. Now one week we doodle and one week we colour with pencils. Until then I had never really got on with colouring with pencils. I did treat myself to a set of Prismacolor pencils a while back. Well now I can use them. I am rather pleased.

So I could practice I went through and found all the images I had printed and not coloured. For this card I used a lot of dies. From Creative Expressions I used the Double Pierced Squares and Rectangles and the  Stitched Flag dies. The patterned papers were in my stash.

This cute little dragon is called Clyde Get Well and he comes from Bugaboo. He was coloured with my Prismacolor pencils.

I have made a lot of get well cards lately. I do love this little dragon he is lovely to colour with pens or pencils.

Get Well Card featuring Clyde the Dragon

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I have a relatively quiet week. Today I am helping at a Felting Workshop which is run by my dear friend. I think  we will be making pictures. Sometimes I get to make my own project sometimes I help to complete a project for the group. I won't know what I will be doing until I get there. I do so love helping though it is a lovely gentle morning in very pleasant surroundings.

Although I have had some time to craft this week I have been struggling a bit to know quite what to do. I was looking at the Bugaboo website and I spotted the free image of the week which is Clyde Get Well. The little dragon was so cute he was just begging to be made into a card.

The backing paper was created with some inky kitchen roll when from when I had been using some Brushos. The ribbon was from my stash. The layers were cut with the Double Pierced Square dies from Creative Expressions.

Isn't Clyde cute. He was printed onto Neenah card stock and coloured with Promarkers. I used the Double Pierced Rectangle dies to cut out the image and its mat.

The flowers and leaves were created with punches that emboss. I have had these punches for a while it was good to use them again.

I think this is quite a cheerful Get Well card it will go into my basket until I need one.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Beccy's Place - Spring Chickens

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I have been invigilating this week. Today I have a whole day off and I am going to the hairdressers which is always a treat.

I am sharing another card I made with the Spring Chickens set of images from Beccy's place. This is my last month as a Guest Design Team member. I am going to miss being on the team. I still have two sets of images to share this month.

I did print and colour a lot of the chickens. I thought this design was a good way to show them off. The backing paper was in my stash.

There are some fabulous image sets in the store click on the logo and you will be taken there.

Aren't these chickens just fabulous. They are available HERE.

I printed onto Neenah card stock and I coloured the chickens with my Promarkers.

I just love the look on their faces.

The sentiments that come with the chickens are just fabulous.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Crafty Catz Challenge Blog - Anything Goes with the optional twist of Favourite Colour Combination

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How has your week been? I can't believe it is Friday again already. Tomorrow we are going car hunting the time has come to change my husband's car. The last straw was someone trying to break into the car last week. In the evening we are going with our friends to see the Bootleg Beatles in concert in Portsmouth it is so close we couldn't not go. On Sunday we are visiting our parents and taking the photo books I have had orderd of our daughter's wedding. I hope they like them.

Well being Friday the new challenge starts on the Crafty Catz Challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes with the optional twist of using your favourite colour combination. The fabulous sponsor this time is Paper Shelter Digital Stamps. We have a Guest Design Team call for May just put GDT after your name with your entry if you are interested.

I like the combination of pink and blue it reminds me of the For-get-me-not flowers which used to grow in our garden. All the papers I used came from my stash. I used the Double Pierced Square and Rectangle dies from Creative Expressions to make the mats and layers.

There are many wonderful images in the Store if you click on the logo you will be taken there.

This image comes from the digital stamp set called Tulips and it is available HERE. I used the       pre-coloured image from the set.  I created the background for the image  in Publisher. Then I die cut the image with a Tattered Lace oval die with a matching white border.

This pretty lace I have had for a while in came in a bag of oddments from a Craft Fair.

Have a great weekend.

Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge Blog - Sponsor Time for Tea Designs - Optional theme No Patterned Papers

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends

Happy Friday the gateway to the weekend. I can't believe how quickly the weeks are going there always seems to be so much to do. We really must make a start on Christmas present shopping but there are a lot of jobs to do in the house. I have lost my voice which is making things a little tricky.

Being Friday the new challenge starts on the Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge blog this time the sponsor is Time for Tea Designs the theme is Anything Goes and the optional twist is No Patterned Papers.

I started with a black card blank, I used my Double Pierced square dies to make the mats and layers. The final layer was embossed with a holly pattern A4 embossing folder.  The snowflake die came free with a magazine last year.
There are many wonderful images in the store if you click on the logo you will be taken there.

This cute image is called Santa Baby and she can be purchased HERE She was coloured with Promarkers.

I found this cute little sentiment in my stash it was just the right colour.

Have a great weekend.

Thank You

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your weekend going? I had a lovely day yesterday with my daughter. We popped out to the shops and found a shoe shop closing down sale and I even managed to get some craft bits in the Range. It was so nice being together and chatting. My husband enjoyed the Stag do and his team managed to get out of the Escape room in the time allowed.

When you have a birthday you need to make thank you cards. This is the one I made for our daughter and her fiance,  it is made from an old card.

I started with the old card I liked the big thank you so much. I made the background with a mix of Pixie Powders. All the mats and layers were cut with the Double Pierced Squares and Rectangle dies designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions.

This thank you is just so glorious and shiny.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Christmas Cuties

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? It is always a tough week when we go back to school. It is so easy to slip into the stay at home lifestyle.

Last week I made a few Christmas cards. Surprisingly, this year where I am so busy I have managed to make more Christmas cards than I had at this point last year.

I was looking through my collection of old cards (people love giving them to me 😊) and I found two cards that had obviously come from the same set. The little images were so cute I had to use them.

The original card were just these images in the centre of a white card which made them super easy to cut out.

There is not a lot to say I used the Double Pierced Squares and Rectangles dies to make all the mats and layers. The papers were in my stash.

I would like to enter the April Rudolf Days Challenge

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Cute Kitten - Happy Birthday

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Yesterday our daughter had her dress fitting and it has been taken off to be altered. My husband and I went to the masked ball in the evening, it was lots of fun. I had never been to anything like that before.

When I was at the craft day I wanted to practice with the water colour pencils and blender before I started on the projects that had been prepared for us so I had an idea of how the pencils worked.  I stamped an image on a piece of scrap paper and had a little play.

As I coloured the image at the event and I had no idea that I would make it into a card I chose the mats and layers to match my colouring. I used my Double Pierced Squares and Rectangles, designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions, to cut the mats and the layer. I like the pierced effect they give.

This is one of the stamps from the Pretty Kitty stamp set by Stampin Up. The image was coloured with water colour pencils that were blended with a blender pen.

Here I am using the Crafter's Companion Happy Birthday die again. I use it a lot as it is a very good size and the dot on the i is attached.

I was pleased with how this card came together. There is a cute doggy set of stamps as well.

Unicorn Challenge Blog - Lots of Love

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a good week so far. Yesterday I saw a friend who I haven't seen for a while,  I finished some invitations I have been making and I finished a commission that I will be sharing with you on Friday. I hope today is as productive.

Today sees the start of a new challenge on the Unicorn Challenge Blog and the theme is Lots of Love just in time for all those Valentine's makes.

I recently purchased the Sue Wilson double pierced squares set A and I used them to make the layers on this card. I just love that you can have all your mats pierced I would never have done this with a piercing ruler. I also used the Heart Lattice Embossing folder to emboss some of the layers. I highlighted the detail with some distress ink.

This heart die is amazing it is the Heart of Hearts die set. When you cut it the leftovers are gorgeous little embossed hearts. It also has an outer die so that you can cut a perfect mat for the heart. No more drawing round the outside of the die for me.

The sentiment was cut with some dies that were in a bundle that I won from Hochanda.

There you have it my finished Valentine's Day card this one might be for my husband. Last year when I posted a Valentine's Day card someone asked if they could buy it so I let them. I made another for my husband but it wasn't as good as my first.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

My First Christmas Card of 2016

Hi My Crafty blog Friends

How is your week going? It was certainly nice to see some sun today even if it was a bit cold.

I do have to apologise that I have made a Christmas card. I did promise myself that I would start making them in January and up until today I hadn't made one. Also I was rather naughty and I had bought quite a lot of Sue Wilson's Festive dies from the last release and I hadn't got round to using some of them. This made me feel a bit guilty so I decided today was the day to make an effort. After all if I only make one Christmas card a month I will only have 12 when we get to Christmas.

This card was made entirely with Sue Wilson dies. I am loving the double pierced squares and rectangles sets a and b. When I was at Newbury John Lockwood showed me how to use them in a different way. I cut a wide frame with two of the dies from the double pierced rectangles set then I cut an inner frame in a contrasting colour and stuck it over the top of the first frame. I cut the snowflake background die in white to go behind the frame. On a piece of dark blue card with a double sided sticky sheet cut to size. I stuck the background to the sticky sheet and then covered the whole thing with Diamond Sprinkles.

I cut lots poinsettias with the Classic Poinsettia dies in a pale blue and I inked the edges I did shape them with a ball tool.

I added the sentiment to the centre of the design.

I was very pleased with how this card turned out. I now have an idea for a 50th birthday day card that I need to make.  Enjoy the last day of the week the weekend is nearly here.

A small piece of Art for a Friend

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a great weekend. We had a brilliant time yesterday. First we went to the craft show at Newbury Racecourse there I even had a good chat with my friend John Lockwood. I also bought lots of lovely crafty stash. Then we went into Newbury town centre  and met our daughter, her boyfriend and his parents for a meal. Finally we went to Andover to see the plot the house, that our daughter and her boyfriend  are going to buy, is being built. It happens to be near where one of my crafty friends lives and I was able to drop off a little piece of art that she asked for her birthday to be part of a collage in her craft room.

As it has already been shared on Facebook I am sharing the little piece of art on my blog today.

I was a bit naughty and ordered the Double Pierced Squares and Rectangles set B to go with set A which I already had. They came on Friday and I couldn't resist a play. Can you see them in the mats and layers I created.

I cut the window from the white mat then I embossed it with a mask and inked through the mask to make the wall. I reinserted the frame and behind the window I stuck the patterned and the cats.

I used a Spellbinder die set to create the flower pot and flowers.

I used another Spellbinder die to cut this and I inked through it before I took it out for the die. The sentiment was cut with some Tattered Lace dies.

Here I am with John Lockwood. You know his cards look even better when you see them in the flesh.

This is Wendy Kadzilo who organises the Craft Show at Newbury Racecourse. On the way in after you have paid you are given a Goody Bag that has all sorts of Crafty Goodies in it. She is a lovely lady and wasn't really keen to have her photo taken.

I think my friend liked her piece of art. I do hope she gets a lot more to make the collage in he Craft Room.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Happy Crafting
