A Bit More Time to Craft - April 15th Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you all doing? What was Easter like for you? It looks like I will be spending my birthday (9th May)  in lockdown. Oh well there are worse things.

The new challenge starts at the A Bit More Time to Craft Challenge blog. The theme is always Anything Goes.

This is the last Easter card I will share with you. I didn't make many this year events overtook me.

I used the Day Star papers to make this card.

Our challenge are always fun and there are lovely digi papers to win. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

The sunburst die came free with a magazine. The tulip die is from Crafter's Companion and the flowerpot is a Spellbinders die.

This is a Creative Expressions die. I do like to mix up the dies I am using.
This is the drawing that our daughter made for our little family at Easter. It features me and my hubby, our Daughter and Son-in-law, his parents and the bunnies. It was so lovely to receive this digitally. I have printed a copy and it is in our lounge.

I did make two versions of this card using different colours of the Day Star papers.

I wonder what will be coming in the next few weeks.

Stay safe and well.

Crafts Galore Encore Challenge #72 - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you have had a good week. Invigilating is finished for the time being. Unfortunately I could do the last day as I had a sickness bug. I still don't feel quite right. We are supposed to be visiting family on Sunday I will have to see how I am.

Who can believe that it is February already? Time for the new challenge at the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog the theme is Anything Goes and the sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps.

The backing paper was in my stash.

There are so many wonderful images in the store. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

The image I used is called Thank You Tulip Block and it is available HERE. I chose this image because you need thank you cards after Christmas.

The Tulips are beautiful. I printed the image onto a background I made on the computer. I coloured the Tulips with Promarkers. The blue of the background was pale enough to be covered with colour.

I got the Tulip die with the previous year's Crafter's Companion Advent calendar. The flower pot is a Spellbinders die.

Have a great weekend.

Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) - That Spring Feeling

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? I have been fairly busy. Today is a busy day on my blog. Even though I am only on four design teams now it just so happens that two of them start challenges today.

First up is the Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) challenge blog and the new theme is "That Spring Feeling". Just in time for your Easter makes.

I made a square card with a similar design and I wondered if you could extend the design and make it less cluttered. This way there is more room for the sentiment. I used the sun burst die again. I kept the centre in place and the leaves of the tulips wouldn't have shown up if I had removed it.

Why not join in with our challenge. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

The tulip die is from Crafter's Companion and the flower pot is a Spellbinders die.

This sentiment is a Creative Expressions die it came in a set with a bunny and some flowers.

This is our Magnolia tree. It did look particularity good this in spite of  the efforts of storm Gareth. We get two weeks of glorious blooms and then a lot of clearing up. It does mean Spring to us.

Here are the different coloured cards I made with the same design. . It will be time to start sending them out soon. Easter is very late this year.

Beautiful Tulips Easter Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I hope you have had a good week. The weekend is nearly here. We are away in Suffolk for my Uncle's 85th birthday celebration that will be on Saturday. Today we are visiting friends who have moved this way last year.

I have made a few Easter cards and I am sharing one of the first ones I made today. I am sat in our hotel room writing this post this is a first for me. My husband is watching Pointless it is very distracting.

I love yellow and green on spring themed Easter cards. The patterned paper was in my stash,

I have had the background die for a while and I have not used it until now. I must say enjoyed using it. The tulip die came with the Crafter's Companion advent calendar last year. The flower pot is a Spellbinders die. Happy Easter was cut with a Creative Expressions die.

I have made a few other Easter cards I will be sharing these later on.

Thinking of You in Purple

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? The children finished school today and I have two more days to go until the Easter Break. We have also treated ourselves to a trip to the theatre tomorrow for our anniversary and there was a good offer on seats.

I held out for a while but in the end I couldn't resist the April issue of  Making Cards Magazine. So today I made a card with one of the images and some of the papers that came with the magazine.

This is a 6" x 6" card my husband had asked me to make some smaller cards. I used my Spellbinder's Lacy circle dies to frame the image.

The pot on the image was not coloured I used the Stampin Up water colour pencils and a blending tool to colour it.

I love how the image and the papers go so well together. I is really quite easy to make a pretty card.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

A small piece of Art for a Friend

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a great weekend. We had a brilliant time yesterday. First we went to the craft show at Newbury Racecourse there I even had a good chat with my friend John Lockwood. I also bought lots of lovely crafty stash. Then we went into Newbury town centre  and met our daughter, her boyfriend and his parents for a meal. Finally we went to Andover to see the plot the house, that our daughter and her boyfriend  are going to buy, is being built. It happens to be near where one of my crafty friends lives and I was able to drop off a little piece of art that she asked for her birthday to be part of a collage in her craft room.

As it has already been shared on Facebook I am sharing the little piece of art on my blog today.

I was a bit naughty and ordered the Double Pierced Squares and Rectangles set B to go with set A which I already had. They came on Friday and I couldn't resist a play. Can you see them in the mats and layers I created.

I cut the window from the white mat then I embossed it with a mask and inked through the mask to make the wall. I reinserted the frame and behind the window I stuck the patterned and the cats.

I used a Spellbinder die set to create the flower pot and flowers.

I used another Spellbinder die to cut this and I inked through it before I took it out for the die. The sentiment was cut with some Tattered Lace dies.

Here I am with John Lockwood. You know his cards look even better when you see them in the flesh.

This is Wendy Kadzilo who organises the Craft Show at Newbury Racecourse. On the way in after you have paid you are given a Goody Bag that has all sorts of Crafty Goodies in it. She is a lovely lady and wasn't really keen to have her photo taken.

I think my friend liked her piece of art. I do hope she gets a lot more to make the collage in he Craft Room.

I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Happy Crafting

Alphabet Challenge Letter W - Window

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Well we have got to the end of the first week back at work - I think we all need a drink of whatever we fancy. My husband is still signed off until next Tuesday when we go back to the hospital about his wrist. It has been rather nice having him home so much and he is getting better all the time.

The Alphabet Challenge Blog returns this week after its Christmas break. The letter is W and the theme is window you can blame me I chose the theme. The design team have made some brilliant samples.

After creating all the layers I cut the window from the top white  layer with a Spellbinder die.  I used a mask to emboss the layer with the aperture and then I inked through the mask. I like how it looks like cement between the bricks.

I created the sign with a Sue Wilson die and some Britannia word dies.

The flower pot was created with another Spellbinder die set.

I slotted back in the window I had cut earlier. I put the patterned paper behind the window to look like wallpaper and added the cute cats.

I will need a new home card later this year as our daughter and her boyfriend are buying their first house together but their card will need rabbits and not cats.
