A Bit More Time to Craft Extra Challenge - April Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is the time going for you? I hope you are all well. We keep hearing of people getting symptoms. All the time we are able to, we are happy to help where we can. I can hardly believe it will be Easter soon.

Today the April challenge has  started at the A Bit More Time to Craft Extra Challenge. The theme is always Anything Goes.

For this creation I have used the Gingham Digi papers. As I was printing at home I was able to make them double sided. I bought a copy of Die Cutting Essentials magazine because I liked the basket die set so much. As the papers were double sided this meant that the inside of the basket was decorated. The Decorative panel came with the die set. I did make the handle myself.

What not join in with our Anything Goes Challenge. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

The tag dies came with the Crafter's Companion Advent calendar. The Happy Easter is a Creative Expressions die.

This basket went together very easily. So far I have made two they are with our daughter and son-in-law. I gave them to them the last time we saw them. I have no idea when everyone will be able to see their loved ones again.

Nautical themed Card - Red White and Blue

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are things going for you? Are you managing to get all the shopping you need? What strange times we are living in. My house have never been so tidy. My hubby is working from home so that gives our week a bit of structure. We are also discovering more about our local area with all the walks we are doing. This week we are doing a shopping trip for an older couple who are isolating.

I made a nautical card for my uncle who is in a home in Devon. The home no longer allows visitors so I decided to send him a card. This is the card that I made with the leftovers after I had finished his card.

The patterned  paper came from a paper pad from The Works. It was this leftover square that inspired me to make this card.

I used so many dies to make this scene. The circle were cut with the Double Pierced Circle dies from Creative Expressions. Most of the other dies are from the Nautical Scenes die set that came free with a magazine. The little clouds are a Crafter's Companion die.

I often use candy in the corners of my cards. I have started making my own this means that I can match them exactly to the card I am using. I use the centre of one of the Cogs from a set of dies from John Next Door. I haven't decided who to send this card to yet it is one for my stash.

Penguin Christmas Card for the March Rudolph Days Challenge

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you getting on? We are managing okay. Going shopping is a bit hairy but we do need to eat. I am being creative with ingredients. There is lots of time to have a go. We have a big puzzle to dabble with. My husband is working from home and I am making cards and needle felting. Hobbies are great.

I love joining in with the Rudolph Days Challenge each month. It starts on the 25th of the month and runs until the end of the month. This is a great way to keep on top of your Christmas makes. I wonder if things will be okay by Christmas?

Somewhere I saw a sketch that I liked. I decided to follow the sketch for a Design Team make but the image I was working with  just didn't work. I went to my supply of old cards and I found an image that I could use.

I chose matching blue papers. When I follow a sketch I like to mat the shapes with black so the design is obvious.

I chose this penguin image from my old cards. I cut the image and its mat with some Tonic Dies. The greeting is a Tattered Lace die.

I was so pleased that I was able to use this sketch and that my effort did not go to waste. Don't worry the Design Team card got made as well.

Cornflower Lattice Friendship Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you getting on? I hope none of you have this nasty virus and that you can get the supplies that you need. What truly strange times we are living in. I am pleased that we are allowed out for exercise so I should still be able to walk. Recently we walked to our local Bronze Age burial mound. It is so strange that it is there. The mound is unimpressive when you see it but it has been there for a long time. There are some other paths and tracks I would like to investigate in the local area. I also have some seeds so I will be able to grow some flowers.

We wanted to lend a Beatles CD to our friends who are the Beatles fans. I also had a book to lend. So I decided to make a card to go with them. I have actually been finding it hard to craft. Which is strange as there is so much time, maybe that is the problem.

I wanted to make a pretty card with a lattice background. All the dies I used on this card are from the John Next Door range. I cut the lattice three times to make the background. I also cut the Ivy Spray four times.

I cut the Cornflower die four times in white. I made up the flowers and then I inked the edges with Distress Ink.

Because we love our friends and miss them I chose to use this sentiment.

You would not believe how many Snippets I used on this card. Everything apart from the mats and layers came out of my extensive collection of Snippets. It is strange but however much I use there always seems to be more.

You should have seen us deliver this we rang the door bell and ran away. What strange times we are living in. We did message our friends so that they knew it was there.

Honesty Heart Thank You Card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How it everyone doing? What strange times we are living in. My husband is working from home. We have managed to buy all we need. There is a very large jigsaw on the go. I have been needle felting and card making. I also have lots of books to read. I am also trying to get out for a walk every day but of course not interacting with anyone.

Back in February when things were normal I went to a workshop with John Lockwood aka John Next Door. It was the day after the Farnborough Craft show (oh boy am I glad I bought all that glue). We stayed over night in a hotel where we spent most of the evening talking to the couple on the next table who were also there because of  the Craft Show. A bit later Dawn Bibby and her entourage came in and had a meal.

This is the card that I started at the workshop but finished at home.

I found a patterned paper in my stash.

At the workshop we stamped the Blossom stamp then we used Izink Ice to colour the paper. The stamp still showed through. When this was dry the Blossom Die Plate was use to cut out the flowers. The flowers were shaped that is as far as I got. At home I put the flowers together and I added a gem. The Star Flower leaves were used to accent the flower.

I also cut the Honesty Heart die I backed it with a pale colour and I gave the heart a black mat. The sentiment was cut with the Thank You die from the Sentiments 1 die set. All the dies I used are from the John Next Door range.

There you have it. Not quite what we were meant to make but I like it. I always make something better when I have a chance to think about it.

Stay safe and well

Beccy's Place - Cherry Blossom Digital Stamps part 2

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you getting on? Everything is so strange. I am so glad that I have a very consuming hobby. My husband is now working from home. He works on the PC upstairs  so I try to stay out of the way.

Here are the other cards that I made for the released of the Cherry Blossom Digital Stamp set from Beccy's Place. I was featured on the blog the other day.  The following cards are all DL cards.

The background for this one was made on the computer. I changed the colour of the sentiment. The image itself was coloured with Promarkers.

This is the set of images you receive in the Cherry Blossom set there is line art too. If you click on the image you will be taken to the store.

For this card I put the image on a blue background. This time I printed the image twice. This way after colouring with my Promarkers I was able to Decoupages some of the blooms. I added Candi to the corners.

This is a bonus card. I have been corresponding with my cousin who lost both of her parents recently. I was asked to send her some documents. I needed a quick card so I used the pre-coloured image and created a background on the computer. The sentiment came from another of Beccy's sets.

There you have it three cards. I think I will be using these images a lot they are so pretty.

I hope you stay safe and well.

Beccy's Place - Cherry Blossom Digital Stamps

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How is your week going? We are living in very strange times. Our Sainsbury shop was very weird we got most of what we wanted but it cost a lot more as we had to buy alternative brands. Also we bought the last few bits we needed in M&S. Lots of plans are being cancelled but it is but better to be safe.

I am one of the Blog Contributors for Beccy's Place. If you go to Beccy's post you will see that I have made other cards with the beautiful images. I will share those with you later in the week. There will also be a bonus card. I found the images very useful.

The colours I used for the mats and layers reflected how I had coloured the images.

This is the beautiful set that I got to work with it is the Cherry Blossom Digital Stamps. If you click on the image it will take you to the store.

I used the individual flower images to make a wreath. I have found that I really enjoy manipulating images digitally. Everything was printed onto Neenah card stock and coloured with my Promarkers.

I changed the colour of the sentiment to fit with the colours I had used.

I was rather pleased with how this card turned out. This is a gorgeous set of images to use.

I hope you can enjoy the rest of the week.
