Not Just Cards Challenge Blog - May Challenge - Anything Goes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

Here we are at the beginning of another week. I hope you are all okay. It was my birthday at the weekend. I did have a lovely day. It strange how the simple things now seem to be so important. I was in touch with all the people that I care most about and that is what matters. We have also been doing an online Murder Mystery and the interrogation of the suspects was on Saturday evening.

Today the May challenge starts at the Not Just Cards Challenge blog and the theme is Anything Goes.

I was asked by a friend to make a gift bag and card for a one of their friends whose 50th Birthday Party they had been invited to. I made the gift bag to match the packaging on the gift that had been purchased. The papers I used are from an old set from Do-Crafts. The decoupage was in the set too. The card stock I used came from Anna Marie designs. I bought some 12" x 24" card from them and it is very useful for larger projects. It was nice to have something other than a card to share for the Not Just Cards Challenge blog.

Why not come and join in with our challenge. Click on the logo and you will be taken there.

Here is the card that I made to match the bag and of course the present. I used the same paper set. I have had the papers for ages. It was good to use them. I used a mix for dies to personalise the card and the gift bag.

This is the picture our daughter drew for my birthday. I am a huge Star Trek fan. We knew her hubby was a keeper when he wanted to come to Destination Star Trek with us.

In the end the party was cancelled and these things had to be posted. As the plans for our friends and our plans had changed we invited our friends round for a meal and that is the last time we saw them. Of course we have kept in touch with Zoom chats. It is just isn't the same.

Under the Sea with the Fishes

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you doing?  I wonder what will be announced on Sunday. We are still plodding along. I am growing lots of things in the garden. Some of them we will be able to eat. The people over the road have started selling eggs which is nice. They have got ten chickens which was a real surprise for us.

A little while ago I treated myself to Issue 64 of Die-Cutting Essentials magazine. I really like the look of the Under the Sea die set that came with that issue.

Yesterday I had a chance to play and this is what I made.

This quite a small card and I really did raid my scraps pile to make it. I used leftovers of two of my inky backgrounds.

I only used the die set to make this little under water scene. The little fish are so cute.

This will be another card for my stash. I am sure someone will like to receive this card.

I hope you have a good day. I think there are lots of online celebrations to join in with.

A Kaleidoscope of Butterflies

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you getting on? Life is certainly strange. My hubby had a doctors consultation yesterday he had to send photos and then have a chat with the doctor on the phone. It was all done and dusted quite quickly. He is fine nothing to worry about.

I made this card with the leftovers after I made another card for a friend.

The card blank was made with the waste from the other card. There was enough of the inky background left to go behind the die and to make the butterflies. The die I have had for a while and this is the first time I have used it. It is the Butterflies in Flight Mini Striplet die from Creative Expressions.

The extra butterflies come with the die set. I did cut the striplet again and cut the butterflies from it so the free ones had some definition. To go behind these butterflies I used the Leafy Flourish dies from the John Next Door range.

This is the the striplet with an inky background. These background are made from gluing inky kitchen roll to some paper.

There is no sentiment. I might add one when I know who the card will be going to. It is good to have some cards like this in your stash.

Feminine Floral Birthday card

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How was your weekend? It seems strange to say that when days seem to be much the same. As my hubby works from home our weekends do seem a little different. Not forgetting there are no Barbara Gray doodling classes. There is plenty to do in the garden of course.

I wanted to make a birthday day for my male cousin (all the others are female). I have been having a bit of a tidy up of my craft stuff. I came across a Hunkdory Kit that I hadn't used. I picked out an image with a bike and I decided to use that for my cousin's card.

As you can see the card turned out to be rather feminine.

I did love the floral frame that came with the image and it went so well with the patterned paper I found in my stash.

The card seemed to suit some lace.

We have been having walks in our local area ever since the lock down started. Can you imagine our surprise we found a pond that really isn't very far from home. Here is a picture of the pond. It just needs some ducks.

Needless to say I decided not to use this card for my cousin. I have made him another one. This card will be one for my stash.

Winter Wonderland Challenge Blog - May Challenge use your Favourite Colours - Sponsor All Dressed Up

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

This is my last post today. I promise.

The new challenge has started at the Winter Wonderland Challenge blog the theme is use your favourite colours and the sponsor is All Dressed Up. Now me I like my traditional Christmas colours reds and greens mostly.

The snowy paper was in my stash I had enough left to fit a DL card.

There are many delicately beautiful images in the store click on the logo and you will be taken there.

This image is called Christmas Robins and it is available HERE.  I printed onto Neenah card stock and I coloured with my Promarkers. I cut the image out and when I did I lost to lovely musical notes that came with the image. I got my trusty Micron pen and I added some musical notes of my own. You will be seeing a lot more of my doodling. I am enjoying it so much.

I might make a few more cards with this image it is just right for Christmas. I have now made  55 Christmas cards for this year.

Crafts Galore Encore Challenge Blog - May Challenge Anything Goes - Sponsor Star Stampz

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

I told you I would be back. This time it is for the new challenge at the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog the theme is Anything Goes and the sponsor is the lovely Star Stampz.

I was lucky and I was able to choose one of the images to work with. I do have a bit of a thing about bees.

Like most people I have been having a bit of a tidy up during this time. I found a lot of Pixie Powder backgrounds under a box that I had left there to flatten and had forgotten about. I used one of the backgrounds on this card.  I used the Dovecraft Bee Happy die set to create the hexagons and the sentiment.

The Star Stampz Etsy shop is full of gorgeous images. If you click on the cute image you will be taken there.

This cute  image is called Spring Bumble Bee and it is available HERE.  I created a background for the image on the computer. I printed onto Neenah card stock and I coloured the image with my Promarkers.

I do like this sentiment.

This bee die I won on Holley's blog when she was having her celebration in February.

This is a rather cute card and another one for my stash.

There will be one more post from me today.

A Bit More Time to Craft Extra Challenge for May

Hello My Crafty Blog Friends and Visitors

How are you getting on? It is my birthday next week and I have got no idea how to celebrate while we are in lockdown. Just to warn you this is going to be a busy bloggy day I have three design team cards that I need to share.

My first is for the A Bit More Time to Craft Extra Challenge. The May Challenge starts today and the theme is always Anything Goes.

I made a birthday pop up card for my lovely cousin. I used the Gingham papers to make my creation. I do have a tutorial on my blog for making this type of card you can see it HERE.

Our challenges are always fun and there are lovely digi papers to win. Click on the logo and you will be taken to the challenge blog.

The flowers were cut with the Cornflower die from the John Next Door range. I used the Gerbera Leaves dies from the same range. I made the stems myself.

On the front panel I put the sentiment. Both the bunting and the sentiment are Crafter's Companion dies.

My cousin and her family have a rescue dog of whom they are very fond.

The card folds up nicely for posting.

I haven't made this style of card for a while. They are very effective and popular.

I will be back in an hour with my next post.

In the meantime I will joining in will Barbara Gray's Doodling session. This week has been all Japanese.
