Thinking of You

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you had a good weekend and are ready for the week ahead. We popped over to the New Forest  to drop off the dress I had bought for the wedding as it needed a small repair. Being earlier than we expected we just had a coffee in a rather nice pub. After that we headed into Southampton for a rather successful shopping trip followed by lunch. It was a very productive day. On Sunday I spent some time making more flowers for the wedding of course.

I was asked to make a card for a man that had a nasty road accident. The person who asked me to make the card had stayed with him until the ambulance came. I decided to use one of the owl images and papers that came with Making Cards Magazine last month.

I have made a card with this set of papers and images before and it has proved rather popular as it has been sat on my shelf especially with the person who asked me to make the card.

The owl is lovely and just a bit quirky.

I used dies I had won in a competition for the sentiment.

I have enjoyed using these images and papers from Making Cards Magazine.

Have a great week.

Father's Day Card Number Three

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

The weekend is here. I wonder what you will be doing. We are going back to the shop where I got my outfit for the wedding as the dress needs a tiny repair. The shop is in the New Forest so we are planning to have a nice lunch in one of the lovely pubs over there. Then it will be back to the house for more wedding makes.

I have made the last Father's Day card that I need for this year. This one will be for my dad. He always likes birds coming to visit in the garden especially the cheeky robins.

I decided to use another Pollyanna Pickering image from the pack I bought recently. I used the textured brick card from my stash and inked it with Distress Ink. I surrounded the image with die cuts to match the foliage in the painting. I used the following dies designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions: Ivy Leaves, Laurel Leaves and the twigs from the Festive Bough set.

I think this image would also make a rather nice new home card.

This die is from the Signature Collection by Joanna Sheen I have used it a lot.

I hope you enjoy your weekend.

A Special Anniversary Card

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? I have been very busy as it usual these days.  There is still so much to do for the wedding. This is my 500th blog post that is amazing and a lot of cards.

I was contacted by one of my cousins and I was asked if I would make a card for her to give her parents on their 65th Wedding Anniversary. I am not sharing the card I made for her yet but this is one I made to send them myself. They are my aunt and uncle after all.

I based the design on the Valentine's Day card I made for my husband. I had the background paper in my stash. On the Valentine's card I used glitter and I would have done the same on this card only I didn't have any blue glitter. I will have to do something about that.

I used the Heart of Hearts die set and the Love Heart die set both from Creative Expressions to make the main focus of the card.

I cut the sentiment with some Britannia dies.

I will be posting this card to them  in a couple of weeks. I sent the card to my cousin yesterday so she should get it soon, I hope she likes it.

Unicorn Challenge Blog - Go Green

Hi my Crafty Blog Friends

How is your week going? Work is plodding along and I am getting on with wedding makes and trying to get ahead with my Design Team makes.

Well the first Tuesday of the month see the start of a new challenge on the Unicorn Challenge Blog this time the theme is Go Green.

When we went to the Newbury Craft show I bought this LC Designs stamp with this challenge in mind.

I stamped the image and sentiment onto water colour card with black archival ink and them it was coloured with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens. I used some Tattered Lace die to cut the image the mat and the lacy border.

Some people wanted to see pictures of our costumes for the masked ball.

This is the costume we hired for my husband. The boots were amazing.

This is my costume with my mask. I didn't need the shawl in the end.

Both of us in masks.

Here is the cake and cupcakes at the party. The cupcakes were delicious.

This is a good card to have in my stash. Those elephants look like they are having lots of fun.

I would like to enter the TTCRD March 7th - March 13th.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

Cute Kitten - Happy Birthday

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Yesterday our daughter had her dress fitting and it has been taken off to be altered. My husband and I went to the masked ball in the evening, it was lots of fun. I had never been to anything like that before.

When I was at the craft day I wanted to practice with the water colour pencils and blender before I started on the projects that had been prepared for us so I had an idea of how the pencils worked.  I stamped an image on a piece of scrap paper and had a little play.

As I coloured the image at the event and I had no idea that I would make it into a card I chose the mats and layers to match my colouring. I used my Double Pierced Squares and Rectangles, designed by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions, to cut the mats and the layer. I like the pierced effect they give.

This is one of the stamps from the Pretty Kitty stamp set by Stampin Up. The image was coloured with water colour pencils that were blended with a blender pen.

Here I am using the Crafter's Companion Happy Birthday die again. I use it a lot as it is a very good size and the dot on the i is attached.

I was pleased with how this card came together. There is a cute doggy set of stamps as well.

My Makes from the Charity Craft Day

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

Happy Friday. I hope you have had a week and have something nice planned for the weekend. Our daughter is coming home this evening so that she can have a dress fitting tomorrow. In the evening my husband and I are going to a costumed masked ball. We have hired our costumes it should be fun.

The first weekend of the half term holiday I went to a Charity Craft day led by a Stampin' Up demonstrator so we were using Stampin' Up products mostly their water colour pencils with a blender pen.

Here are all the cards I made together. There was a variety of styles and techniques used.

Here we used the Pretty Kitty Stamp set and the Stitched Shapes Framelet Dies. The little heart was cut with a punch.

This card used a die from the Detailed Dragonflies Thinlet die set. I had to work on this card when I got home as I had a rather nasty grey smudge on the original.

This card used a colouring page that I coloured. The die was from the Detailed Drgaonflies die set.

More colouring pages and a large Thank You stamp.

I do own this stamp set it is the Birthday Blooms set.

The elegant lady came from the Beautiful You stamp set.

It was a good day and I now have some more lovely cards in my stash.

Enjoy your weekend.

Crafts Galore Encore - March Challenge - Fabrika Fantasy

Hi My Crafty Blog Friends

I hope that you are having a good week. All of a sudden it is March time is marching on.

The first of the month sees the start of a new challenge on the Crafts Galore Encore Challenge blog. The theme is always Anything Goes and the sponsor this time is Fabrika Fantasy.

I decided to make a birthday card.

There are many wonderful images in the store

This is the Summer Fairy image she is available here  http://www.fabrikafantasy.com/summer-fairy-digital-stamp.php#.WLSRz_nyiUk . As I was able to have a PNG image I was able to colour the background on the computer. I then printed onto watercolour card and coloured the image with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens.

I made a summery border with die cuts and punches to mirror the border in the image.

This is the die I got from Crafter's Companion at Christmas. I am using it a lot as it seems to fit so well into my designs.

Enjoy the rest of the week.
